Received a call a short time ago from the number. It said "D Republic Call" ... I never answer calls that I don't recognize .. let them go to the ans. machine and if they have a message they will leave it but most all hang up. Oh well.

got a call from a 849 number that was actually 1 number too long for some reason. they called and woke me up at 5:15 am central time. the number calling was 849-797-08685. thats exactly how it shows up on my cell phone. i didnt answer but they left an incoherent message in a thick accent saying "hello? hello?". now that i know its from the dominican, i'll let all 849 #'s go to voicemail.

just another pest call--first rule no id no call--2nd do not answer these calls- if you do not answer they have to get frustrated--no chance for you to be scammed and no chance for them to get anything info or money--everyone should wise up and do not respond.

I got a call from this number on July 19, 2012 at 9:55 AM. I didn't answer, and now that I see that the call originated in the Dominican, I feel that telemarketers that want to skirt the American DNC list have now outsourced their call centers to a nation where our "do not call" laws are not enforceable. Although I can't stand telemarketing, it's nothing but another form of outsourcing that has taken American jobs away!

If you do answer the phone, just tell them you record all calls and ask them for their name and company name. Guaranteed, they will hang up and not call back.
