I have also received calls from 849=953-5808- it's from the Dominican Republic.  When I pressed the number they wanted, of course they hung up. The other one we're sick and tired of is "If you are a senior citizen...." about a security system- Senior Emergency Care.  We joined the National Do Not Call Registry, but apparently that doesn't work so well.  These calls come from all kinds of exchanges- some 480; 928;501, all kinds.

calls are from D. republic and its so annoying when a family memeber is recovering from surgery and that call or several days from this above number come thru.

I got a number called from 1-849-965-5896 on about 4 occasions and today it was about diabetes and its from overseas and hung up.

Appears now using another number by D. Republic 949 963 4853....appears to be a scam of some sort.  The new call appears to be coming from Southern California...as we have donated to diabetes causes in past someone may have compromised a legitimate NPO list.

I like to know WHO is calling me before I answer the phone.

Got a call from this number. Answering machine answered. I never call back to unknown or not available calls. Don't know where the call came from.
Best to always ignore any number you don't know.

I received a call from 849-963-3297.  The call cut off after four rings.

Reading through all the other complaints, it seems like this is a long distance scam.

Just got a call from this number. It said "Name Unavailable". Thought that was very strange so I did not answer. Decided to check on-line if there was any information about this number. Thank you all for commenting on this site and sharing your experiences. It really does help knowing which callers I should definitely add to my Call Block List!

They have called me four times now, as well. They actually have left a message once before, something about medicare and if you have diabetes and back pain associated with the diabetes please press 1 for more information! Best part is, I don't have medicare or diabetes, and neither does my (54 year old) mother. The next option was "press 2 to be removed from the calling list." So I pressed 2. Some guy answered and said "Hello! What kind of information would you like about this special medicare offer?" My response was "Remove me from the calling list" "But ma'am you haven't received your information yet" "REMOVE. ME. FROM. THE. CALLING. LIST. I'm registered on the do not call list and if you continue to call me I will file a complaint with the FCC" "Oh, we're sorry. We can't remove you. Goodbye!" And hung up. I filed a complaint, I suggest all of you file one as well.

I have had this # on my caller ID 4 times this week.  They do not leave a message nor have I answered it. But I wish the heck they would stop calling my number!

We have VoIP for our "land" line and do not answer any of our calls.  They all go to voice mail on our computer.  I get an email notification if someone leaves a message.  Very few junk calls leave a message.  These low lifes did- "If you are not a senior suffering from back pain, joint pain, or diabetes and do not wish to receive these calls, press 2 now".  Wonder what happens to the unknowing senior who does press 2.

Get multiple calls from that #. Some say you should listen to a Medicare message so I put down the phone. Over the last month have had about 20 calls from that #. They just keep blasting away. The problem with my phone and blocked calls is that when you block a call the phone still rings once which is still annoying.

I got a call this morning as well from 849-963-3297. If you don't have caller ID, let your answering machine pick up. If someone wants to talk to you that badly, they will leave a message.

Filed an FCC complaint because this sounds like medicare/medicaid fraud.

No ID, no message.  Just another aggravating scammer and apparently there's no way to stop them.

got a call from them at 12:57 pm today and it is from d republic about people with diabetes but it was a recording so I hung up. have gotten a few from them. my husband is diabetic but we are not taking any calls from the d republic about diabetes. I hope that they get paid enough to aggravate us or maybe they get minimum pay if this is the only job they are qualified to do.

Caller ID was showing "Name not found," I pressed "Talk," then I quickly pressed "End," effectively cutting off the call.    If everyone would do this, we could stop this type of call.

Do not call this Number back, its a fack in order get money.

Calls repeatedly. Makes sense if it is one of those drug pushing companies. I get calls from another one too. Added this # to call block. Also hate the ones that say out of area, and they are increasing. Can't block them. I think they get clued in that you have them blocked so are now calling from out of area. So sick of it.

This # has called me at least 3x's now. I am going to run out of blocked call room at this rate? Why are some of us bothered by these callers so much and other friends never get them? And the usual, why call if you can not leave a message? Makes no sense.

well I made the mistake of answering the call. And it gives a message about senior if you're diabetic or needs health care to press 1 to talk to someone.  don't bother to answer.
