I also received a charge of $4.90 on my bank debit card, credit union cannot charge back since it was a debit card and not over $25. Called the phone number in Florida and got the same recording as everyone else.

Same happened to me. $4.90 charge. The number says they are not available and to leave a message. My credit card company cancelled my card and is sending a new card to me via FedEx. They are posting it as a fraudulent charge. This happend a few months ago from another "company." Wish I could figure out how they are doing this. I have different passwords for everything and use PayPal whenever I can. I am super cautious.  So annoyed. At least I found this and know that I wasn't losing my mind forgetting about charging something.

Was also charged on 8/7 by VPSERV.BIZ 850-366-2940.   reported this unathorized  charge to my bank Visa card.  New card is being issued.  Not sure if I will ever see the $4.90 back but would like to file a class action suit..  Who is in?

I received an unauthorized charge of $1.50 from VPServ.biz, telephone number 850-366-2940.  Although this is not a large amount, it concerned me enough (the fact that they had my card number) to cancel my card in case they tried to illegally charge my account again, this time with a possibly higher amount.  I called the phone number and only received a message (which was never returned).  I sent an email (via the VPServ.biz website) and also received no response.  I believe this company is scamming people and stealing from their bank accounts.

I'm another victim of the of the unauthorized charge of $4.90 on my checking account from VPSERV.BIZ 850-366-2940. I filed a complaint to the Sheriff's office. Whoever is responsible for this scam, they need to be arrested. Imagine how many people are getting victimized by these scammers and they are getting wealthy from our hard earned dollars.

No call, but $1.50 charge to my BoA card.  I called the number in FL, and answering system said "person not available."  Definitely not a legitimate business, as far as I can tell.
I called my bank, and they've cancelled card and I have to wait 7-10 days for replacement card.   This is a real inconvenience to me and I hope the peoe responsible are caught.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number after which I noticed a chargeon my bank account of $4.90 on July 22.  I called the number AND my bank called the number.  Got a recording that says "The person you are trying to reach is unavailable.  Please leave a number after the beep".  Not like any business number I have ever called.  Cancelled my card and filling out a dispute with the bank.  Also I have reported them to the FBI-Internet Fraud Division.

I was charged fraudulently. I reported this. Who charges $4 for web services??? Reported to the State Attorney General and the US Government Fraud division/ US department of Justice for investigation!

I got a charge of $4.90 on my credit card on Jul 17, called the number and got the "You cannot contact the person you are calling, Leave a message".  I called my credit union and they put out a hot card notice on my card, filled out a bunch of paperwork, got a new card with a different number and may get my $4.90 back some day.

Ok, update: my husband told me he paid for digital access to the Baltimore Sun newspaper and it was $4.90 yesterday. Would be very helpful if they listed something descriptive in the charge listing on our bank websites!

My husband's card has the same pending charge. Here's their website: http://vpserv.biz   Looks like they are some kind of webhosting company and they have a "Refund Policy" link at the bottom of their page. There is also a "Contact Us" link at the top.

Just checked my on line credit card.  It just posted - a debit to my account for $4.90.  Read your reports first.  Did not call the number to see.  Called my credit card company to report my compromised card.  They are sending me a new one - card/number.  Also some paperwork,  The amount seems small.  This scammer feels they can get away with it, as many people would look right over it on their bill.  Not me.  I check everyday.  Don't delay, call your credit card company to report it!.

I don't recall getting a call ,my account was charged $2.70 on yesterday.

I just noticed a 4.90 charge on my Visa that I couldn't account for on 6-27-13. I think I've figured it out. That's the day I had my son take a package to the P.O. to be return a Roaman's catalog purchase and I used the return slip that was furnished from the package. I think this may be postage . . . and I read something about the postage being refunded after the item was received and processed. I will call my bank tomorrow, but I think this is what it is.

I received this as well on our bank acct on June 30 2013 of 4.90. Received no phone call and tried to call the number on my bank acct and said samething.

I  also  have a $4.90  charge  to  my  bank  account  from  this  number!  left a  not  so  polite  message  for  them!

Hey bucko- you'd better get on the phone to your bank. Nobody here can "correct this matter". If your bank account is being drained get moving!

Someone from this number took or is trying to take money from my bank account that was not authorized this is against the law. Please correct this matter.

How are do they have access to our account. The same happened to me on June 20, 2013. Who do we report the number to.

Got a charge for 2.70 yesterday on credit card. Thank God I check my account daily, Going into the Credit  Union now and getting a new Credit Card. Happened one time 8 years ago someone charged $1.00 for I Tunes caught that right away and the Credit Union took care of that. Hope the ole saying " What goes around comes around" someday these people will get theirs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't really tell you about the phone, since I don't have any other information about it, but I would suggest that if you believe it to be compromised, call/go see your carrier ASAP.  They'll be able to help you a lot faster than anyone here can right now.

Forgot to mention bank said it was computer network information service as far as they could tell

I also had a charge show up pending in my account for $4.90, not a lot of money but how did they get my info? Really pissed me off.

I also called the number and got the same recording, the charge came up as 35219 purchase vspserv.biz with the phone number.

I checked the area code and it is pensacola,tallahasse area. If the 35219 is a zip cod it is birmingham, alabama.

Of course i called the bank, my card is deactivated, gotta wait two weeks for a new one and file a dispute

Yes, it's a minor inconvenience in the greater scheme of things that's for sure.

They had me fill out a form in the event the charge goes through then they can investigate further. LOL you're not nosy at all~whatever info I can give out that might help others is my pleasure.  I live in a small town so the bank is most helpful and I'd not get such a good response if I still lived in the city.  If anything further happens I'll post it here in the hopes that it helps others.

I'm glad your bank was able to help. I totally understand the PITA it is to have to change your info just because of a POS scammer, but, as you know, it's the better of the two options.

Out of curiosity, did your bank say anything in particular about the charge (online, fee, -known- scammer, etc?)  May help someone else who has a question with this number...plus I'm a wee bit nosy. :)

Thanks for the response.  I'd already been in touch with my bank and cancelled out my card and also if funds are taken from my account the bank will handle that too.  Just is a pita because I use my card for every transaction I make.  This hasn't been my month, my email got hacked too~funny after being on the net for a whole lot of years this is first problem I've ever had~guess I can count my blessings because I monitor my accounts on a daily basis. Scammers always find a way around though.
