I received the same thing on New Years Day.  Creepy!

God a call from this number today, ID said child services.  What they hell.  No answer then line is busy says its from Santa Rosa, FL.

Got a call from "Child Services" at this number at 8:50 p.m. on 2/15/2011.  Scared me as I have close friends going thru a mess with Child Services in this area of Florida.  THRILLED to find this website when I just googled that number.  Whew!  Scared me to death something terrible had occurred til I saw it's just another bogus phone scam wanting $$.

Received a call from this number at 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2011. I did not answer the phone.

Same here.  They've called repeatedly.  Caller ID says Child Svs.  Call back and it's always busy.  I answered once and they hung up.  Can't ATT do something about this since they're the carrier??

Person asked for me by "first" name - claimed to be from Indiana Childrens Services - tried to get me to commit to a donation - gave me a web site www.indianachildrenservices.com - looks bogus - the person that called did NOT sound like a professional.  Came up Child Services on the caller ID - 850 area code doesn't even belong in Indiana.....claimed to be a non-profit - DOUBT IT...

Same here.   I received a call from this number and it showed up as Child Services on the caller id.   I called the number back and I got a busy signal.

keeps calling, has shown up as Child Services on id, other times has shown as Milton Florida.  I don't answer, they don't leave messages.

Got a late phone call from this number and it freaked my kids out. Not cool! I work for a non-profit counseling agency and that number isn't even close to a real reporting agency in my area. Clearly a scam.

Today I received a call from this number.  Nothing left on answering machine.  This is NOT the first time this call has come through.  Happened months before now here I go again.

I got the same call from the same number ID says Child services I hate people like this you called them back and you get a busy signal I have kids so it freaked me out

Did anybody recieve a call back or was anybody able to reach them and if so what type of questions did they ask

Got a call from 850 564 5118 and no one there said Child Services and tried to call back and got busy signal...just strange because I run a day care out of my home...hope that someone figures out what this is and soon.

They just called me from  Children & Family looking for a donation...Smells like a scam.

I got the call right around the same time you did.  I have children in FL within the 850 area code.  Just freaked me out a little but after seeing all the posts I feel better.  Called my kids, everything is fine.  I wish they would find these people and publicly nueter them so they don't perpetuate....

Got the same call today.  No one was on the other end and tried to call back but the line was busy.  Call is from 850 which is NW Florida, probably Escambia county or one close by....

My call was from 850-564-5001. But it said Child Services on my caller id.  I answered, said "hello"
twice but got no response. They hung up.  So I tried to call the number back and got the busy signal also.

Certainly am glad to see the same stories....called me twice---no message--I called back---no answer.  Same caller ID 'Child Services'

just got a call from this number too with the called id of "child services"..called number back,,could not get through, then it hung up on me...nothing was on the line but air!! I have adult children so no reason child services would be calling here!

same here....i.d. is Child Services.  Would really like to know what these people are up to,  I didn't answer, let it go to voice mail and could hear lots of voices, but no message left when I retrieved message.

just received a phone call from same number with same caller ID listed as "child services" as stated above. this is a bit scary- wonder if they are trying to gather information on the people they call- what a gamit- child services as a caller ID- anyone who has any kind of compassion would pick up the phone

I recieved a call and they asked for my husband and then said they were just trying to get in touch with him and hung up.
