Here I am, unlisted and on the do not call list and I bet you anything it's the scammers that say they are collecting for Florida Highway Patrol or Sherriffs or whatever.  It's a scam, that's for sure.  They asked if Mr. G--- was in, I said no, then Mrs. G--- and that's when I told them I was the babysitter and could I help them?  Of course he said no and hung up.  No goodbye, no politeness.  I know their tactics.  And I'm not the babysitter, but it's a very handy line to use to get rid of these money grubbers.

I called our local sheriffs office and they suggested to donate to the local dept. At least I know where the money is going.  SAME goes for the fire fighters.  I feel sorry for the elderly because they have no idea that this is a scam.  Be careful who you donate to.  Many scams are out there. I have asked over and over to be removed from their list.  Next time, we report them.  When you hear Florida highway patrol or firefighter of Florida OR whatever they are using this month, tell them no thanks and remove your name from their list. Hang up. Make sure you have your name on the do not call list registered with Florida.  If they call again, you can be compensated with a monetary reward.

Got a call from this number.  I did not answer but want to find out who it is.  I don't answer toll free numbers. I am on the "Do Not Call" list but I have a bunch of numbers that call and call and call.

This number keeps calling me, also. I am on the do not call list and don't know how to make them stop. Any suggestions?

UNLISTED & ON "DO NOT CALL" LIST. How the heck they get my number? Calls are coming all hours of the day and night and weekends.

They are a total hassle, calling all the time. I am going to get a phone that includes call blocking just for these scammers. It will be worth every penny.

Get calls from this number at least once a month if not more.  Sometimes they answer other times I get a hang-up.  The caller id says "Florida" and I know its for some type of charity of which I say no.

I have call block and it only works for local calls, not long distance calls. Believe me, I've tried. The phone company (AT&T) will tell you the same thing.

I am involved with a non for profit organization here in Lake Worth, Florida.  We have constantly been receiving these calls for this number.  Every time they call I let them know that they would not be able to receive a donation from us because we are a 501(c)3 here in Florida.  I ask kindly to take us off their calling list.  But today was different, it is Monday and it wasn't event 10am yet.  They called and hung up on me today.  So after doing some research......I called off of my cell phone.  Forgot to block the number..oh well.  Told Ms. Operator 14 that they just called here and it seemed odd for her to receiving a call back.  She stated that they try to receive money for charities.  I also explained to her that we are a not for profit organization and that she needed to take us off their list.  She then proceeded to ask why we wanted to be taken off, I then got a tad bit rude and explained that they call 3-4 times daily and we want to be removed!!!  She then got even more miffed and asked you are a business?  OMG Do these people not listen?  What excellent customer service they have.  I gave her our number and told her that if we get one more call from them then I will be reporting them and hung up.  What a headache.  Be warned everyone!!

Telemarketing scammer. Delightful experience (not).

SImple solution guaranteed to get your name and number of their telemarketing lists.  Just answer the phone when you are bored or have about 30 minutes to kill (works best with headset and cordless so you multitask, lol).  Just keep asking them a bunch of stupid questions over and over again, act like you aren't very bright.  Ask them to repeat them selves, then say something like "wait, I think I am confused, can you start over and please go slower this time so I can follow".  You get the idea, make the call very unprofitable for them and they will wipe you out of their data base.  Trick to all telemarketing if to make a ton of calls and get a high sale rate.  Make the call last forever and don't buy and they won't want to ever call you again.

You can also have fun and tell them you want to think about it and ask them to call you back in a few days.  Then when they do, play dumb for a while, string the call along and then again say you are on your way out the door, please call me again.  It can really be a fun game and is payback for all the idiots who bother you.

I picked this call up and the man made like he was looking for someone else.  A wrong number?  But he keeps calling.

DON'T ever donate to a phone call.  Try:  JAK Productions, Inc, or   Community Services, Inc.  they do telemarketing . Search internet for more info.

Also received multiple calls over several nights. Finally called back and had same Florida Firefighters Charity claim.... funny thing is,  I AM a Florida firefighter and involved in that same charity.  They answered every question I asked them wrong with a bs answer. It was very obvious to me that THESE ARE NOT REALLY CHARITY VOLUNTEERS!

Do not answer and please do not believe they are affiliated with any REAL fire, police, etc professionals.  :(

Got my first and last call from 850-688-9130 today using my phone's number blocking technology.
If needed, instructions for blocking a phone number or for handling almost  any situation in our complex lives can be found by using the wireless 'brain adapter' for the internet and searching the problem/task, etc.  Try searching 'how do i block phone numbers'.  I did, because the net brings me the exact info that I asked for.  Easier than searching my bulky phone book or other sources.  Hmmmm, wonder if I can patent a wireless internet 'brain adapter'..

The same here.  They call my in-laws about once daily, always shows "Florida" on CID and they never leave a message.  Have not received threats though.

calls 2 or 3 times a day- when answered they hang up or tell me its some charity. Asked them not to call but they keep on calling. I dont answer anymore

I keep getting calls as well. I finally called back and they answered as "Customer Service" and I hung up.  I get many many calls per day from all different numbers, 877, 800 and every state, FL, AZ, SC, 603 area code, MO..All crazy numbers.  I NEVER answer answer and if I do, as soon as I hear that pause after saying, "hello" I hang up immediately.  Sometimes I'll pick up and just start yelling in the phone, "HELLO? WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, SPEAK LOUDER? HELLO ARE YOU THERE? And they hang up immediately.

DISTURBING PHONE CALL ASKS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY CAN WE COUNT ON YOU FOR AN ANNUAL DONATION FOR THE FIREFIGHTERS? I ASK THEM FOR A PROFIT AND LOSS STATEMENT - HE SAID HE THINKS ITS ON THE MAILER THEY WILL SEND ME FOR THE PAYMENT. I TOLD HIM TO JUST SEND ME THE MAILER AND I WILL GET BACK TO HIM, HE HANGS UP.

Have been getting many calls from this number.  I just ignore since they won't identify themselves on caller I.D.  Tonight when the call came in with the same number, the id said "Pickup or else".  Nothing like a threat over caller ID.  This kind of thing should be illegal.  They never leave a message on the answering machine.  Some days get 4 or 5 calls and sometimes at 8 am on a Saturday or Sunday morning.  Must be a way to stop them.  And yes we are on the do not call list.
