So looking at these comments, we are all in the same boat...This company has gone to the extreme to contact and uncle and cousin of mine, who I would NEVER use as referrences, and not only that they live in a different city than i do...so of course they call me scared thinkin someone is going to jail...

I know there is no solution to this other than reporting , not calling back or ignore call...its just annoying that they keep calling....

I'm soo over it...

I keep getting voicemails and missed calls from 855-207-2291 that state that if I do not respond timely then the papers will get sent back to the court for Failure to Appear... etc. I just learned that I was scammed by a similar company (Johnston & Associates @ 877-926-1194 & 877-684-7731) for collection of a debt. I am not getting scammed again!

Lisa,

Please notify your bank  immediately  and cancel the  card. First, please be aware that there are telemarketing scams that will target the most vunerable and gullible of persons. NEVER EVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. Especially to random callers.

1) Did you provide your full name, address, and more importantly your social security number?
2) Did you pick up or did you listen to the call and call back? What did the caller or message say?
3) Who did they say they represented or who did they say they were collecting on behalf of? Do you have any debt by said company or entity?  Have you recieved anything in the mail concerning a past-due debt FROM THEM?
4) Did you get a valid name of the person whom you spoke with?
5) Did you record or document the call?

Please answer for reference but please dont give out your personal information, that is not needed, just a yes and a no to question 1. Do not disclose personal information, but if you do owe a debt,  dont mention amount or to whom just verify yes or no.

I got a call from these people. They sounded so legit, I gave them my debt card # to take out $200 on Friday until I can come up with the rest. Came home very upset and told my husband and he said it sounded like a scam. So I googled the # and found all these posts. What do I do? Cancel my card? Contact the bank so the transaction doesn't take place? Help I just got this card and have some bills coming out monthly from it.

Please please please record the conversation. Keep your answer machine on, use another cell phone that is available that has voice recording capabilities, or purchase a cheap recorder.

Plainly put, it is 100% illegal to call anyone- regardless if debt is due or not, and leave a voicemail or answer machine message threatening legal action. The caller must state his or her name and proper business name they are representing. Furthermore, anything legal or concerning must be addressed personally to the intended person not out in the open via a machine. Hence why the caller MUST ask to verify who the callee is to make sure THEY have the appropriate person. It is illegal to discuss or threaten non party participants because it can be considered harassment and is an easily payable violation (to you) of federal and state laws.

Nevertheless, please record the calls. Every. single. One. I would go as in so far to say to anticipate the calls. Collection agencies can not use intimidation tactics NOR harassment or threaten calls to get respondents to comply. If any collection agency even mentions or hints at legal action- it must be verified to the intended person and MUST be acted upon within a timely manner. Usually 30 days.

Please look up fdcpa laws- Federal Debt Collection Practice Law. You can also get more information by visiting the American Do Not Call List at the website of the FCC. You can also refer to your State's Do Not Call List.

Report, report, report. If you receive further calls please make note and record the calls. Do not provide personal information if you feel uncomfortable. All debt collection agencies and lawyers must provide WRITEN information, which if you request, they must oblige (it is called a VOD or letter of intent). But record the call, and if it is intimidating or harassing, there isn't a lawyer in your area I guarantee that wouldn't take your case for FREE. However, get as much information out of the conversation as you can. You do not have to provide personal information. Please review your state laws concerning such for more information.

Thanks.

I also got a phone call to my voice mail.  I noticed the phone number from it came from didn't show up on caller ID but they left a call back number 855-207-2291.  about signing some papers ??  what ever that is. message said to call for more information. I checked my call history on my cell to which this call came in and it was ether blocked or no record of incoming call. Just the part of a voice message that didn't make sense to me.  I went on line to check out the call back number to find out there was a lot the same type of calls being placed to other people. I think a scam of some type.  I didn't return call.
I thought I better report to the states attorney general office which I'm sure they have files on this.

STOP! This number has called me at least 5 times and they have caller ID so they know who is calling them back.  They have threatened arrest on voice mails, required 2 supervisors to be present if they have to serve the legal summons at their place of employment, and threatened arrest if their call was not returned by 5 o'clock.  Not sure if they are actually looking for anybody or if they are just harassing people (me) or if they are collecting location or phone numbers to re-use as legitimate names and numbers.

Got a call from this number stating that they were going to put me in jail if I didn't call back in 30 minutes.. Jonathan cummings was the man's name. I also got calls from a private number. This calls were from delilah James. She said she was a local court currier and she needed to serve me papers. She told me to call 855-207-2292. I Googled it instead and saw all these posts... it's definitely a scam! Plus delilah told me she was local but, if you Google her name, she's local in many state's. She must have super powers to be able to be in all those states at the same time to serve people bogus court papers!!!  SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!! I have no debt with anyone!

Received a call, which was actually a recorded message, advising me I needed to provide two forms of ID so I could be served a court summons.  Figured it was a wrong number.
Then, another message left on my home phone today, leaving this 855-207-2291 number to call back, more about a court summons, and threat of "failure to appear" crap which made no sense.

Got such a call today as well.  Said issuing a summons.  I believe something about arresting?  I don't know.  It sounded like someone reading off a script and then hanging up.  Said have 2 forms of ID ready and they'd be coming out.  Said if I had any questions to contact the filing party, which was the same number as the number that called me (855-207-2291). I did not call back, but Googled the number they called from.  They never gave a company name, claim #...never even addressed me (or anyone) by name AND they called on a corporate company line, so.....I'm assuming probably someone who used to own what is now a corporate phone line had unpaid debts, as many collection calls came in years ago for someone who previously had the phone number this call came in on today.

Got two calls from 855.207.2291 asking for no one and leaving no co. name but the girl was very clear that someone would be going to jail or at least a bench warrant would be issued if we didn't get back to them by 5:00 p.m.  I wasn't home and a family member let me know because they were concerned so I called the number from my cell ph and left a vm stating I had no idea what they were talking about.  The recording says it's a co. called Legal Services (?) Once I did my research I called back & left a vm stating I knew who they were and what they were doing was illegal.  I told them to remove us from their list & if they call again, that's telling me the aren't taking me seriously and I have nothing but time to spend in order to get them to stop or shut them down completely.

They've called twice; the first time stating there was a summons and the second leaving a message that there was a missed court appearance and suggested we call the filing party's number (which was the number they were calling from) and they would see us by the end if the day. This is an absolute scam. They never leave the name of their company.

Its a scam. An if they tell you that you have to have two forms of ID to serve you papers. That is BS. You don't have to show any ID. They on the other hand must beable to show you a ID stating that they are allowed to serve papers.

So far, they've called me twice with vague, threatening recordings. The first time, I picked up but it was just a recording of a woman saying there's a summons out for me and they will be stopping by my job, and to have 2 forms of identification with me. I did not answer the second call 2 days later, but they left another recording on my voicemail. It said something about "from there it's going to be filed as a missed court appearance due to failure to respond" and then "I'm going to give you the filing party's number one last time" but the number they gave me was the same number they were calling from - this very number.

I think this is a collection agency scare tactic. I have a small debt about to fall off my credit reports and they must be trying to get me to pay on it. Don't be scammed by these unethical scumbags!

This number has called me and my aunt trying to get in touch with my dad. They tell me they need to talk to him to "help" him. I told them my dad will not call him because we think its a scam. They act like there is some " legal" issue. They called my aunt tonight and said this is a last resort and they would be coming out there between 5-8. Huge scam. Do not answer the phone!

How dare these people waste my time threatening hard working people. I wonder what job they failed at that they now work trying to scam people!! I received a message from a young woman (she didn't leave a name) with the same bogus threat, saying she couldn't meet up with me yesterday but will attempt "later this afternoon" and that I should "have 2 forms of ID", If she wasn't able to serve me then she would have to submit my papers? to court with "A Failure to Appear". Are these people delusional? Please don't believe them or call back just report the call.

Not sure what this company gets out of making these calls. My husband got one from this number today. They implied that it was a legal issue and they left a voicemail that they were unable to meet up with him but when they did he needed to have two forms of identification with him. I guess if people call them back they must come up with a bogus amount due and try to collect on it by threatening a  lawsuit. Crazy.

My suggestion - do not call them back and block the number if you can (but I bet they call from other numbers too).
