In the past month (since using an online payday loan company- and repaying loan the following week), I have received threatening, harassing voicemails, threatening to: repossess my car, contact my employer, show up with law enforcement at my place of employment, etc...  The first message claimed that "for some reason, our attempt to send a letter to you was returned," and the second implored me to call "about a pending action against my social security."

Anyone ever found these a**holes to be anything other than a fraud?

The name of the company is NG Capital or Nichols and Grant

Got a similar call man said all the same things  but at the end he said that this was a notification from the state of Michigan ....so of cores we call back  the man lied about what his company was and refused to send us any paper work until we made a payment  my husband told him no he got real rude so I called he was a little nicer at at first however that changed after I made him  aware  that it is a unlawful to  claim to be  from the state of Michigan with he denied was them and said it was someone that they contract out to make those calls but when I called back later the man who claimed to be from the state answered dmy call i could tell it was him by the sound of his voice he had a  very very  distinctive voice  .these people are full of it
Derrick Bottaro seemed to be the ring leader and  Rio Greene was the man who left the  first message who claimed to be from the state.

Got the same message that they were going to serve me papers etc etc.  Also papers served previously had been returned.  This is total f****ng b***s***.  I know what is on my credit report.  Yeah, I have taken out payday loans and yes I have paid them back.  They cost me thousands in fees and charges etc.  Do I regret it ??  NO.  But these calls keep resurfacing.  Guess I will have to live with them

Called me again yesterday, which was exactly a month after they called the first time.  Hmmm. Still waiting on those papers to be delivered.

They just called me and told me my new PO box, my phone #s.  Said he had some documents for me that were undeliverable.  Said he hated to come to someone's work and would meet me.  That's just scary!  He did not want to tell me who he was other than he is a courier for a company trying to deliver papers.  I told him I googled his number and it shows scams.  He said if I didn't want to get these documents, that would be my business and the consequences would be up to me.  I did NOT agree to meet or verify any info.  

They have been calling me for a long time.  I am not the person they are looking for, but they refuse to stop calling.  Today I traced their call - The guys calling me come from a company named N & G Capital - 877-795-2044.  They are located at 3843 Union Rd #224 Suite 215 in Cheektowaga NY.  They are behind the recordings that I received about not being able to deliver papers blah blah blah

They like to say "we are not a collection agency, we are a process server sending you documents."  B***s***, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

I keep getting these call from this number (855)208-1896 stating that a case is being filed against me in my county and that I can settle this matter before it goes to trial. I asked what is the case number so I could see if it is filed but they cant produce it. Also the person that left the message doesn't work there anymore but when I called it was the same person voice that left the voicemail. they also use (855)274-4960 and (855)209-7718. this company is a total fraud and they don't even leave the name of the company when they leave a voicemail. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!!

Same story as everyone else.  At first, I thought it could possibly be correct, since I have recently moved, but it is too much like other scammers to really be afraid.

I received a call from this same number today at my job and decided to call them back because they left a case number.  The person who answered would not repeat the company name when I asked and then hung up on me after stating something about speaking American and then Bye.  Like you Rhonda, I know I don't have any unpaid accounts so I know they are a joke.  I just wish I could stop them from calling my job.

Yeh I just got a call from them today saying the same thing. I was dumb enough last yr to fall for this same kind of thing 4times and cost me and my hubby $4,000. So yeh they will say your going to jail or documents were returned and they was sent to your employer and will freeze your bank account. I just told yeh we will see and they hung up on me. So I called the same number back 4 times and got four different company names.the first one was energy capital services. After that they kept saying their legal department was closed. Sorry but one number isn't gonna have four different company names. The number that called me was 1-855-208-1896. So I would just hang up on them or delete any messages from them. They are a joke. Cuz I know with all and any debt you have unpaid and that is in collections will show up on your credit report.

..855-209-7718 ... but it is the same vm etc etc. Their recording was identical to the prior messages. I think that they just change their # hoping you won't recognize these scuzzballs. Nichols and Grant are falsely representing themselves as lawyers. They MUST be stopped!!!

they call from computer (+8552081896) as it is harder to block the number.  Keeps calling stating that the documents for some reason  have been returned and to call with correct address or they will assume they have the right address and attempt to mail again.  Ok  do that dumbass.  They never state what company they are or why they are calling...IT IS AGAINST THE LAW not to state that they are trying to collect a debt... and if you keep calling the same number and say if this is not so and so, please disconnect now...and they never get a call back...

What happened? If you don't mind me asking? Was this resolved?

They call me all time I laughed at Tony on the phone and he got really mad and told me I was going to jail. I have not worked in 12yrs so let them send anything  to my employer that they think I work for. Someone took out a payday loan in my name about 2yrs ago. So just laugh at them on the phone it really makes them mad.

Called and told me that a court summons was undeliverable and I needed to call them and make a payment to "make it go away." A close friend of mine is the file clerk for our county sherriff sho delivers all summons and she said there was no such thing and that this company was a 3rd party debt collector who was using scare tactics. They also told me in 72 hours they would freeze all bank accounts and have me put in jail for fraud and theft. I think it's BS and notified my attorney. Still waiting to see if thyese jack***es try and pursue this.

Ot an automated call this morning wanting to confirm my employer. That was immediately suspicious since I am disabled and have not worked in 10 years. So I called back and got a really rude nasty guy who claimed he was a lawyer and refused to tell me his name, the company name and hung up on me. How professional. Sounds like a junk debt collector to me. That's how they operate! Gonna report em to the FTC.

Called and left a message on my husband's cell. Said the message was for Lindsay someone. Documents were returned, if they didn't hear back they would assume the address was correct, contact employer,blah,blah,blah.

Received Calll and message left stating mail had been returned and if I didn't call back assume address correct and either me or my attorney needed to call and give reference number given. And also said something about my employer...I blocked number.

They called me today and told me that they were serving papers on me for fraud?? Said they were from Energy Capital and if I didn't pay them 585.00 that I would be in court in a week and would owe them 3000.00...When I call back I get a voicemail for a woman named Anna Smith.  The caller's name was Derrick Bottaro...why wouldn't it go to him.  OH and they said that they were a law firm.  I googled the name they gave me of Energy Capital and there is no law firm by that name.

Continue to call and harras. I have tried to call back 17 times and it never goes through.... So, they call continue to eat your cell minutes but not the other way around. BS!

keep getting calls for a Mark person.. Mark does not own the number they are calling. Called them back to clear things up, and they hung up on me.  How do you get them to stop calling your number.. especially when the person they are calling for .. is not even you

YES.. THEY DO HAVE SOME PERSONAL INFORMATION EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS BECAUSE YOU HAVE FILLED OUT SOMETHING ONLINE OR A PAYDAY LOAN,OLD CREDIT CARD ETC..

THEY ALSO WILL DO SKIP TRACE AND FIND CLOSE NEIGHBORS AND OTHER POSSIBLE RELATIVES. IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE THIS.

They change their names constantly.  PLEASE DO NOT RETURN CALLS TO THESE PEOPLE. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU INTO GIVING THEM ANY THING. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!! THEY WILL STOP AFTER A WHILE WILL START AGAIN UNDER ANOTHER NAME. VERY BOTHERSOME

I got a call from them while I was watching the national news. Some guy named Tony Wilson said that NRG Group wanted to send me some documents at my old address unsuccessfully and they will freeze my bank accounts in 24-48 hours if I don't respond. I called them back an hour later and left an angry message demanding what they wanted from me. I don't know how they got my personal information and that has me worried.

Same thing happened to me this morning, couldn't deliver documents due to a wrong address.  Well I haven't moved in over 15 yrs so they must be BS'n me.  Did not state what company they were. Should I be worried?
