they said they were hired to investigate me

This company actually called my husband's Grandmother to reach me.  They knew my name and last four.  The woman on the line (ironically sharing my last name) said she was representing a law firm.  I did call her back, they are in fact a debt collector.  The only real issue is, they are collecting on fraudulent debt.  She said she was collecting on an overdrawn account.  Problem is, I'm still using the bank she pretended to be collecting on behalf of.  When I pointed this out, and the fact that I am in very good standings with my bank and have a great personal relationship here in my small town, she advised that they are also in check something or other "so good luck with that."  LMBO!  Someone's not getting their stolen commission.

I got the call from 855-209-0496 and they left me the message sending me to 443 478 3961 both of them r bogus n tried to get my card info now ive been calling them back just Fing with em they picked the wrong one i have more time then money after im done they wont want to call anyone else lol

Keep getting calls left on my voice mail.  They do not ask for a person by name, just get into some spill about I have a court date and I need to call back concerning paperwork I signed for, page no. and so on.  I save the recording and plan to stop by the DA's office for them to listen to it.

This guy identified himself as investigator lerani in my voicemail. He said that he is going to serve me a summon in my house within 24 hours. He said that I have to call 443-478-3961 as the petitioner and make a arrangement so he can stop serving me the summon at home. I don't even know anything about this case.

i keep getting calls from 855-209-0496, and a 716-362-8928.  the 716 number leaves messages about check fraud and the number is from New York state, and I live in Indiana.  I rarely write checks, maybe one a year.  The 885 number just calls a lot, about the same kind of crap, never say who they are calling for.  The 885 number called my aunt today, and tells her this its a miss hogan and she needs me to make a statement about a suit being filed against me, and i have to make a statement before being served.  i love how they talk to my aunt and tell her personal information, whether true or not, but leave me voicemails with no ones name.  i called the 855 number and yelled at her about telling my info to my aunt, its embarrassing and none of her business.  also she said nothing about check fraud, she said i had a credit card back in 2007, which i didnt have, and i now owe like $1000.  I made the mistake of giving my credit card number, cause I was scared, I know I had some older cards that i'm about finished paying off, thought it might be one, and dont want to get sued.  Now I am calling my bank first thing in the morning and making sure the payment never goes through.  Also calling back the 855 number and telling them I want receipts or paperwork from this credit card, and I am getting a lawyer and will let my lawyer handle it.

Message said that I have a court date pending & if I don't call back to arrange payments then I will have a sheriff come to my home or work to deliver summons.

I got really worried the first time they called me. I thought that somebody was trying to steal my Identity. Now I believe that they want something like that. I have received 3 phone calls from 855-209-0496 and 3 from 716-362-8928
When I talked to them they asked me if I was looking for Danielle something and then hanged up on me.
I have two voice mails from Jim Hooking asking me to sign paperwork and that they need the signature from my supervisor and that I had to do it immediately. He also mentioned to contact Miss Meyers. I will go to the police and make a report. Please do it also in that way we can stop them.

I also received the same message from a man/woman who identified themselves as Michael Radisson - another one was Mrs. Richards - another from Mr. J, I think. Hi this message is for (silence). My name is One of the above- calling from the offices of (sounded like Holding) Hogan and Weinburg. Another was HW and Associates, I've been retained to conduct an investigation in reference to allegations of check fraud that are currently pending against you bearing both your name and social security number.
It is imperative that you do return my phone call today !!!  to provide you with the opportunity to resolve the matter on voluntary terms, or issue a final statement prior to any further proceedings taking place.  Court filing & papers are going to be processed tomorrow, and we want to resolve this. The number I can be contacted at immediately is (( 855-209-0496)). (hangs up).
I did call back and they asked the number I was calling from.. I gave it (My house) and the guy that answered said, he was looking for my daughter and wanted to know If I knew where she was.  
He did have an old address of a place she used to live.  I informed him that she did not live there or here, and I had no idea where she was or how to contact her.  I goggled the number, and it has lead to here. Scammers.

a womans voice left a message saying she was Ms. Richards calling from H. W. $ Associates about a check fraud case against me, she called from number 716-362-8928, the message said she wanted my name and SS number to verify who i am,......YA  RIGHT.

she then said to call her directly at 855-209-0496

these people are so stupid, they called me at my work and all calls are recorded and date & time stamped.
i turned over the tape to the phone comapny and the Sheriff.

i hope somebody shoots these idiots

What's to wish for? Go on and send your story to the FTC and attorneys general. They, unlike your debt collector perhaps, will have valid mailing addresses and phone numbers.

Refusing to give you a business name violated federal law. I'm not sure you would have heard a real name anyway. I also doubt there was "check fraud", and debt in the USA is never a criminal matter. If you find this firm has a domestic office, file suit.

I got a call from this number and they claimed I was being investigated for check fraud. When I asked what the name of this law firm is they said I was asking too many questions and hung up. This is clearly a scam. Please don't give these people any of your personal information. I wish there was a way to report these people.

I'm getting a call every day from this number. "Ms Richards"...yeah, I'm sure that's your real name. There are allegations of check fraud pending against me. Funny, since I haven't written a check in about five years. I've yet to answer a call or call them back, but they leave a voicemail every time.

This number left a message on our office phone. We returned the call and after informing them the person they were asking for did not work here she hung up without a thank you or a anything. They need to teach these people manners.

A guy by the name of John Logan is contacting my phone stating that he's a lawyer representing Logan & Linberg not sure of the spelling. He to a relative that we were involved in Check Fraud with Chase Bank and that if we did not contact him to sign an affidavit we would have charges brought on us. I told him that I was goin to report him because this number is not tracking a Law Firm.
