Look, "T. Sanders" (sure..that's your name with a thick Middle Eastern accent). You are NOT a police officer calling to threaten me or my elderly parents for a debt owed. First, in America, police officers have better things to do than to call people who may or may not owe money. Second, you cannot call and threaten to have me, or anyone who knows me, arrested and fired from my job.

You claim I owe money under a maiden name, when I've been married for 6 years now! You won't reveal where you're calling from and you are THREATENING MY ELDERLY PARENTS. If I did owe you, I'd think you'd have more personal info about me. You threatened me and my innocent parents. Go strap a bomb to your back and make a wish.

Your number is untraceable. Call center in india perhaps?

Debt Collector
My mother just received a call from 855-472-7370.  The individual was very rude and I told her after the call that since they did not give the name of the company nor did they ask for her information that it was a scam.  My question is how are they able to have a toll free number that can't be traced to anyone?  I would think that all numbers are registered to some kind of entity/person.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

These people have continusly harassed my job over a unpaid loan. They have threatened to send a officer out by the name of James Taylor which is a false name. Have lied to my job and told them they were calling from a Sheriff Department. When the number was called back it was invalid.

My name is Craig Blakeley.  I am the Managing Member of Alliance Law Group LLC in Tysons Corner, Virginia.  Recently, we have received a number of e-mails and phone calls from people who have been contacted by a group using our name "Alliance Law Group" -- or something very similar -- and purportedly trying to collect a debt.  Some of those people have told me that this group even gives out our street address and web site as their own.

Please be aware that this group has no connection with us.  Our name is a federally registered trademark and no one else should be using that name.  Moreover, we do not do any debt collections work.

If anyone obtains an address for this group, I would appreciate having it.  We would like to take appropriate action to stop their use of our name.  I can be reached by e-mail at  cblakeleyatalliancelawgroup.com  (just replace the word "at" with the @ symbol). .  Please use the word FRAUD in the subject line of your e-mail so that I will know to look at it.

This company called and said that I have a check fraud and that they were going to be serving me papers to be summoned to court. They have been calling and harassing my in-laws and calling family that I don't even have the numbers to. My attorney has contacted them and they refuse to talk to them and hung up on them. My attorney and his associates have searched this company and found nothing but reviews about this so called legit company and he has found out that this company is a scam and a fraud. Do not send them any of your money and let them know that you are aware that they are a scam and a fraud and you will not be giving them a dime.
