Same thing.  I went to my bank to confirm everything was o.k.  If I had an issue, they would have contacted me directly.  I had them listen to the voicemail I received and they took the phone numbers and said they would attempt to pursue by reporting it to their fraud department.  I also called back tha 844 number and when they answered, I said they had the wrong persons name they had referenced.  They then asked me for my phone number.  I asked if they could see the number on their phone/display.  The person said they didn't have time for games and hung up.  I blocked their number.  If received more calls, will attempt to escalate a little more aggressively.

Debt Collector
My mother received a call from a different number asking for me. She called me and gave me the info. I called the number and the "company" was midway mediation services. No one answered so left a basic voicemail. Got a call back this morning from this number (supposedly the same company though) from a guy named Brandon Callahan telling me I had a bank of America account I committed fraud on and threatened prison time unless I paid almost 4000 to them. I have never had an account with bank of America. I told him to send me paperwork and he requested I get it via email. I said nope certified mail! He got huffy and said OK. I called the courts with the "docket number" he gave me and the lady laughed and said it's definitely a scam call the police and make a report.

Debt Collector
Received a call from this company (they actually left a voicemail). Said his name was "Jack Roberts" and that he was calling regarding allegations of check fraud through Wells Fargo (A. I don't have a Wells Fargo account; B. I don't use checks and C. I'm not a fraud). He said he was going to have to send a "process server and sheriff" to my home and place of business, but first to place of business so my boss could be an "eye witness".

I called back and confirmed the ABCs from above. I said I welcomed the paperwork and would be home when they showed up (they'll never send anybody). I told him if he is trying to collect a debt, he is violating state laws and did so on a voicemail. He said they aren't a collection agency and that they are with the State of California. When I asked what department/agency, he said "Well that's not important since you're not going to cooperate. Good luck to you."

I also called Wells Fargo who has no idea who these guys are and no record of me associated with ANY fraud.
