Who. . . forgets. . . about. . . a. . . loan! If you didn't pay a loan back (that's a REAL one, not the fake Asian one's) because you forgot it, then you are truly a cretin! Unless you're a lying 3rd world criminal trying to make people believe your extortionist story. Yeah, lets go with that.

Troll --- what on earth are you trying to say -- that you are a deadbeat who deliberately takes out PDLs and not pays them back?  Then if you are such a deadbeat, why did you show up here lecturing people to pay their bills?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

someone finally answered, I asked for their organization's name. she stated they're called: Hairston & Harvey, and spelled it slowly for me (shocking or maybe it was me shoving AG up their butts :-D) but she stated they're based out of Arlington, VA and they prepare cases for civil court *eyeroll* but I explained to her how many times a week I receive these calls and gave her some of the many different numbers called from.

however, she kept looking up the gmail's caller ID (AGAIN, how the scam begins -- they look up the number you're calling from then read from a script and threaten whomever phones them back from a matching number (including your work number), THEN begin to look up family/friends/employment info to keep harassing until you pay). I advised her again of 1 of my many numbers called. and low and behold, I received an apology and was advised my number was phoned in error.

yea, could it be the AG jumping down their throats with law enforcement? who knows, but I know this, it won't be the last of them but it's now easier to stop their nonsense with an actual active complaint. so file a complaint with your local AG, police and FTC, and even post info at www.ic3.gov. they'll immediately run from cops as again they are OUTLAWS, nothing more

persons called before, but surprisingly the caller ID was the same number as the number being directed to call back to (855-229-5839). I guess the outbound call service is now smart enough to spoof their number correctly

called back and it was the same voice as the scammers from another call. but their recorded message left (verbatim):

this is chex systems calling regarding an attempt to withdraw funds from your checking account. we are legally required to make you aware of all pending processes being filed against you. in order to freeze any activity, you will need to contact me at [at this point computer's voice changes to insert their new scam number] 855-229-5839 within the next 48-hours

note the scary legitimate sounding voicemail BUT with a fake company name. so many red flags in this recorded message but they're counting on someone assuming it's legitimate

but phoned back (from gmail.com telephone dialer), no one answered but received voicemail: "you've reached the desk of Kevin McDouglas. Please leave a message or a file number and a contact number to call you back on" BUT later gonna 3-way this number in with 855-925-3975, 202-803-5785 or 202-417-2021 and have a blast with them! they've already got my info, the only mystery is how.

but had a longggg chat via phone and email with WV Atty General about these clowns. WV AG sued tendollarpayloan.com for fraud, they're essentially non-existent plus outlaws. they're 100% fraudsters. they don't know how these scammers have obtained consumers info but most important thing to remember: they're 100% scamsters and to not take them seriously, BUT protect yourself from them.

stopped calling them back previously but now that they're contacting family with this scam attempt, and family is naively falling for it. so will definitely have some fun with them AND demand the court option every time hehe they're calling on behalf of tendollarpaydayloan.com which is unlawful in my state not to mention receive these scam calls weekly, all stating different company names, loan info and dates (with ZERO documentation including upon request) YET have had same bank account for over 16-years, while these clowns claim funds were deposited (insert any date here).

but threatening me with court action is comical as they're scamsters and wouldn't have one legal leg to stand upon. but the court action is intended to scare someone into paying them LOL while they're the equivalent of drug dealers threatening to sue for non-payment for cocaine. so yea, I'll take the court option, which means they'll have to create a new fake number and start over again, and again and again LOL court docs have been en route to me for SIX years now (receiving fake calls since 2008!!) but living proof scammers don't share info and just prey upon any number from any scam list. I used to receive "consolidate credit card" scam calls weekly, now these calls have taken their place. could be same scammers, who knows but it's the new online age we live in
