Received a from an Indian person stating my computer was under attack. asked for supervisor who provided a 31 alpha numeric windows license number.. they asked if I would allow him access to my computer. told them to send request in writing. This was the third or fourth call.. they do not give up. I believe this is a scam. Two people two different stories. Microsoft should take some action against these folks

Just got a call at work.  Indian accent guy said he is third party firm contracted by Microsoft.  Said someone is trying to gain access to my home computer.  Wanted to know what time I get home so he can call me back.  Fishy!  Could not reverse lookup the phone number he left me.  Number led me here.

You may still be in trouble.  While they were connected it was possible they copied the contents of your hard drive to scan for personal information such as credit card numbers and online userids and passwords.  Unless your computer was never used for online financial transactions, you could be in serious danger of financial losses.  NEVER let anyone who cold calls you have remote access to your computer no matter how convincing they sound.

Amy called and said she worked for Microsoft Windows as an outside consultant. Said hackers had been in my computer and that she would fix it for free. I gave permission for her to take control of my computer. She showed me that I was 95% curropted {her spelling} and that I would need to speak to her supervisor. A guy calling himself Mike Dufhop said that I really needed their help and that he could fix my problem for $20. I said you are not getting my credit card number, my debit card number or a check so how did he think I could pay them. No problem, just send money through Western Union and they would fix my problem. I told him he was a scammer, nothing is wrong with my computer, It runs just fine. Don't bother wasting my time again. I then removed the programs they put on my computer, recovered it to yesterday and am sending out an email to warn my friends about this scam

These guys have been calling me several times for the past three weeks. Always a very heavy Indian accent. Today it was "Melvin." He was dumb enough to give me his call back number: (855)243-2038. Claims to be working from Clifton, NY.

Its a scam! Windows aka Microsoft does not cold call folks like this! While you can call them for tech support and they can call you back, they don't just up and cold call. They can't and there is no way anyone can detect anything going on with your computer like this!  

Oh, they will have you open up the event viewer to try to substantiate their false claims, but the event viewer is a log so a real tech can check it when you really do experience a problem. They then want to charge you a small fee after getting remote access in which they generally turn off your antivirus software and who knows what they are doing - they could be downloading malicious software, keylogging etc while having access to any personal info you may keep on your computer.  The small fee is generally a couple hundred dollars..

No one should ever touch your computer except you, the manufacturer, a real live tech or the real microsoft tech's simply said!

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general,FTC & FCC..

I received from this number, seemed fishy, wanted personal information about security codes on my computer.  Told me my computer had been hacked into and was sending out malicious information and that my computer may seem fine now, but it was going to crash.  The caller wanted access to my security codes and wanted to walk me through the clean up process. The caller said her name was Rosie

A man with an Indian accent called saying my computer was on danger of being hacked and wanted me to let him install something. I actually hung up and they called me back twice. These foreign people think Americans are so stupid! Well this one isn't.

same thing saying they are calling from Windows about my computer being hacked...off course it is a SCAM

Man from Windows Care said my computer was infected but he could fix it with just a few keystrokes. I asked him which computer and he said the laptop. I told him I did not have the computer on and so leave me a name and number and I would get back to him. He said: Henry 855-428-9679.

Is  this a legal  company number

I received same call today from Indian man.  Stated that this was Microsoft Technical.  I did not believe him, so I asked to call him back.  His name was Jack.

I recieved a call from this number, a woman with an english accent, claimed to be calling from Windows server, said my computer is about to crash and that she would help me out. she stated that my windows license kept showing up on their server as red flag. that there were viruses i couldnt see in my files. She gave me this number because I told her that I would call them back.. when she called my caller id said number unknown. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS, ITS A SCAM.
