Unavailable name, call 8pm, no msg

A debt collector, AFNI. They called looking for my brother-in-law.

I picked up a call at the switchboard and got a prerecorded message that I thought said "Acme" but other listings here say 'AFNI," whom I never heard of before. The recording said it was a message for an employee here and that "if you are not ________ please hang up and do not listen to this message." I listened anyway and all the message said otherwise was that it gave a callback number of 888-309-2416.  An address where I could send these people a letter of Cease Communication would be very helpful; our employees are not able to take harassing calls on company time.

AFNI - got the same pre-recorded message - called them back - collection agency - looking for my son who lives 8 states away from me - my number is unlisted - don't know how they got it - son has never lived with me in this state - reported them to the National Do Not Call Registry.

AFNI pre-recorded message calls at least 5 times per day. It's driving me insane. Is there an address to send a cease letter to. I would greatly appreciate.

A man left a voice mail on my cell phone stating that he was from AFNE and asked for me (he knew my first and last name). He said he was calling on the behalf of a debt collector and to call 888-309-2416.  I don't think I'll be returning this one.

"Derek" called my sister, who lives in another state, and asked for me. He used my legal name, not the name I go by, and knew my birthday.  He said that it was "a personal matter."

This place keeps calling me and asking for my sister! I have not talked with my sister in years and years. who in the _______ is this! My sister does not owe anyone!! She has been deceased for 17 years!!! And before that had gold ball credit!!!
He says his name is Jason and he needs to talk with Candice about a buisness matter.

Caller left msg said they are AFNE....never heard of them before.  Very rude.

Debt Collector ... they called work and left a message telling the person if they weren't me to hangup because this  so and so from AFne and this is an attempt to collect a debt etc.  I don't think that's legal and I will be notifying the consumer bureau.

11-20-08 - I get home and I have a message to call Randy at this number. The problem is he called my grandmother who's name and number are never attached to my identity. I don't know who they are, but I'm not giving them the satisfaction of a return phone call.

I just got a new cell phone. They have called me three times without leaving a message. I didn't recognize the number so I never answered.

I just inherited the number from vonage the day before. I got a call on Saturday morning at 9:33 am when i picked it up they hung up On caller Id was 1-888-309-2416 Listed as 800 Service misrepresentation I called was informed by recording Afne collections an attempt to collect a dept. (not mine )previous owner Talked to Victoria I gave her the number explained it's a new number to me she asked if I knew such and such with that informing a complete stranger that such and such had a debt with them was told it would be removed save for the three calls yesterday for this such and such. I called vonage and asked for another number which they changed with no charge
