They now call themselves "Standard Capital US" but were previously known as American Standard(s) Online, Anchor House Financial, First Step Equity, and other aliases: they want to charge you $199 for a not-very-current list of rent-to-own or so-called "pre-foreclosed" homes. If you refuse to give them your credit card number, or ask too many questions, they get extremely rude in a heartbeat.

They are now posting on Buffalo NY craigslist.

They're posting on Elmira-Corning, NY CL now. Thank God I pasted the number into Google. Just got done uncovering another scam where they ask you to click a link and get a free credit report prior to getting any info about where the property is or seeing it in person. Why so many scams? Where are the legit rentals?

I called and they are supposed to be a company that helps with foreclosures. They claim to help with the transfer of property between home owner and renter so they can take over the payments without credit check or down payment in an effort to save homeowners credit. He stated it was a monitored by the goverment and used in all 50 states. He said the companys name was standard inc. Sound like a scam? Also it cost 200 dollars to start and that is because you will be viewing private info about all of the homes and what they owe, how long they have left, and info like that.
