I have been getting calls since 2012.  First they stated they were trying to collect an unpaid payday loan I had taken out from Hydra financial.  From the first call I was livid and tried telling them that I do not take any loans ONLY school loans and for my vehicles.  I ignored their calls and finally in 2013 they hit me with the scare tactic that they were going to take me to court.  In good faith I made a payment with my bank card for the balance of $200.  Through this whole time I was dealing with couple people, but the person that kept harassing me was a man name "Parker".  After I made the payment, the calls stopped for a few months then started up again this year.  They claimed they were calling from that same institution and that I had a balance of 600 something dollors?!!!!!I am furious now!I told them I made a payment last year when they said I had a balance of $200.  I paid it in good faith and without them sending me any information regarding my balance although I had asked multiple times for some sort of statement.  I told them I was not going to pay them anymore money unless they are able to provide me information on my so called balance.  Now I have another guy that goes by the name Ryan O Reilly and he claims he is a processor through the Honolulu County.  He said that his job is to try and come to a settlement otherwise they will send a sheriff out to my place of employment or home.  I told him to go ahead and serve me.  He asked me "How can I help you settle this?"  I told him "please send me a statement."  He replied "ONLY PRIVILLEDGE INDIVIDUALS ARE ABLE TO GET A STATEMENT, ONES THAT DO THE RIGHT THEN!"  I told him that's a bunch of b***s*** because no one in their right mind will pay for anything without any proof.  They got me once in the past, but ain't getting me again.  THEY CAN KISS MY GODDAM A**!I DID MY RESEARCH AND YOU GUYS ARE A SCAM!!!!I HOPE NO ONE GETS SCAMMED BY THESE IDIOTS.
OH AND THE CALLS I RECEIVE IS A BLOCKED CALL NOW, THEY USE TO CALL FROM DIFFERENT 855 NUMBERS BUT NOW ITS PRIVATE CALLS. HE WONT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HIMSELF ONLY THAT HE IS A PROCESSOR. KISS MY A** BI***!!!!

Yeah, we got a call from these morons last night.

A "M" representing a private carrier will be coming to my residence tomorrow. Call 855 264 9133 to request a stop order.

They claim to have documents that are to be delivered to me the next day and I must have valid ID and a witness present to prove receipt. (Where do these guys come up with this stuff? BWAHAHAHA!) Or I can call them back (Only the phone number will connect me to the original entity sending the documents, she claims.) and have a stop order placed on the documents (HAH!) These guys are hillariously pathetic.

I'm on the do-not-call list, and have been since it started. Blatant violation. I'm transfering the message to a digital recorder and forwarding it to the FCC, etc.

Feel free to post any information you have on where these fool are actually located. They need a few LEOs to stop by and request their valid identification with a witness.

(also called from 8555992527) Well....I began getting calls from them close to 3 wks ago and through much headache I think that I can safely say that these are fraudulent calls. received a call from a 'process server' with instructions to call this number back  or be served with a legal summons for writing bad checks. when you call the number back there is someone who asks for your debit or credit card info to set up payment arrangements so you won't get arrested. I set up the arrangement because I was terrified but began having doubts because I asked if  I could be given the process server's info I was told that it would be very hard to do so. Then I was told they tried contacting me via certified mail by the lady handling my case (Kasey Adams). I told her is never received any certified mail from them or the original lender and asked if I could get an extension on the payment. She said she would set it up. I spent the next few days at work on line trying to find any info that I could about this company who identified themselves first as Progressive, the Office of Progressive, then Progressive and Associates and came up with nothing. I called back today to find out I had a new case manager now named Ryan O'Reilly. I began asking him questions, and referred to the alleged certified mail attempts  to which he said "oh noooooo we don't know anything about that." Which I found odd because it was someone who worked at that office, right? So I asked if I could speak to a manager. I was forwarded to Marilyn Forney who was extremely rude. She said maam we're not gonna keep playing with you. You will pay this money. We gave you an extension and you still never paid anything. I began asking her if they had an address or a web address  associated with their company so I could find out more about how they work. She told me they were in New Haven, CT and that I could google Progressive Financial Services. I hung up and did that. Progressive Financial Services is indeed a legit business, but through further sleuthing I found out it is not them.  Progressive Financial's website has a consumer hotline number that you can call and report any rude or obnoxious collection attempts to. I spoke with Rebecca who answered all of my questions and was even aware of this company. When I gave her Marilyn Forney's name and she searched their directory it returned no results. She said "we really usually deal only with student loan debt. Was this call from an 855 number?" When I told her yes she chuckled and said. Wow, yeah we've gotten quite a few complaints regarding this company but let me assure you that they are not us. In fact, she said, Progressive Financial is attempting to locate this company to sue them for using their name and likeness but its hard to locate them because they have gone through extreme measures to hide their identity. She told me to report the harassment to my Atty. General and file a complaint with the BBB.  She then wished me luck and even left me with her extension.

Maybe you did get the payday loan and they have the name of th company you got it from but a lot of times your information is sold or these people can hack into files amd see what you owe an who you owe and they can get the information just like that.  Even when applying for things over the Internet, you would be surprised at how long your information stays on the Internet or who's able to pick it up with no problem.  Just don't send any money unless you want to be out of a couple of hundreds.

Received a call from this Progressive company at 3 this evening before getting of work.  I did not answer because the call came from an unknown number.  They ended up leaving a message as well as calling my work line stating that the law firm received information of a law suit that was in the process of being filed against me and because my home and work address had been verified they received permission from a superior to serve me papers to either my work place or home address.  Then she stated that I could call 1-855-222-6261 extension 576 to act upon this matter and I also received a case number.  The representatives name was Crystal Redford.  I am not worried about these people because they ate not getting any money that I don't have.  Because I've done some research on these scammers I will answer the phone tomorrow and let them know that they are playing with fire.

Thank you so much for putting this information out there. This company did the same thing to me and as you did made a good faith payment and set up future payments. Then upon doing some research, I could not find any information on them until I googled them and found the word scam. I really appreciate your post.

I want to let people know that these people claim to be collecting on an unpaid payday loan. They told me they were in the process of sending the Sherriff to my job to be served legal papers and they gave me a number to call to give me a chance to settle the debt before they served me. I called the number and made a good faith payment and set up later debits to settle the balance. Upon doing some research and talking to a few collectors, I found out these people were scams. They would not send me a copy of the debt or proof of were the payment was being applied. I closed my account, put in a fraud alert and canceled my debit card. Be aware they use scare tactics and are very persistant about getting your account information. The company is Progressive-not insurance, 888-224-7840 and 855-264-1939.

They first called my work and let the other girl in the office know that if I did not call them back they would be coming to serve me papers. I called the number back and spoke with a mrs. smith.. ref my case # and they said they were a law firm. They told me i owed money on a payday loan I took out. They then told me if i made a payment of $222.00 and scheduled the rest for a later date that they wouldnt send out someone to serve me papers. I paid.. like an idiot. Then started looking online. Found out this is most likely a scam. Called my bank and cancelled my card and filed a claim for theft. They then sent me a receipt for my payment.

I just got that call too.  Her name was tracey and gave me the number 855-266-1256 from Progressive and asked if I wanted to call the debetor to try to arrange an alternate location to be served or to try to reach an agreement.  I said I didn't have time to make any calls at work and she said fine they will see me at work.  She said she was in Wisconsin, I didn't believe that.  We will see if they show up today.  I thought that if court papers were going to be served it would not be a good idea to call ahead and actually speak to the person because they didn't want the person to avoid the process server.

Either way, I believe this is a scam or some old debt that I believe is paid off that someone bought through one of those work from home websites.

Yes, its a scam.  They called my job - which happens to be a law firm and when I start telling them the code they are violating they stop.  Claim they are Progressive (not the insurance company).

Ignore!

I received a call from this number stating that I had a unpaid payday loan and was about be served a summons for FRAUD.  When i call back and asked questions I find that they are not attorneys and never sent out a invoice of my debt.  The caller was very rude and said a summons would be sent to my job.

Received a call about being officially "notified" about some Shonda person I have never heard of on May 24, 2012. Wanted me to call them back. No way! Gave a case file number and tried to sound official. Came up as a private Anonymous call.
