I get these calls all the time, I have caller ID, so I never answer these calls, They are all scam calls. These toll free numbers come under different names and different numbers. I once wrote a list of over a dozen numbers that these scammers call by! So BEWARE, do not give them any information--just hang up on them!!! I can't understand why the government cannot do anything about it!!!

Just got a call this morning (I have been getting 1 or 2 calls a day from this number for the last week), and it was a professional fundraiser for an autism charity.  When he said that he wasn't calling to ask for money, I just hung up.

Also, the connection wasn't very good.  The caller sounded like he was using a speaker phone, and he was 50 feet from the phone.

I was told my unlisted phone number was called because of a data base they tap into they just follow a series of numbers. Suppose to be a computer calling and then a live operator comes on the line.

I have done the same reported them to be told well were sorry they keep calling you simply do not answer the phone, hello simply stop calling me thank you

This number calls my home at least once per day, no one is on the line when i answer there is an echo. I try to call back an the number rings and rings.

That Phone only blocks 30 #s.   My Voip blocks 50 but I wish it did more.

They phoned me twice today.  Now I have used my Comcast call blocking to block this number.

You may be right, in that on two occasions, after receiving that call, I received calls from charities asking for contributions.

Endless calls to my 90 year old mother's phone number.  I have reported them to the do not call list and will continue to do so.  Only wish it would do some good.

Got a call from "Toll Free Number" at 12:36pm, 8/15/12

I use Digital Blocker. Best investment I have ever made for getting rid of all these intruders. When they call ,my phone does not even ring . It just hangs up on them. You can block all 800 numbers , individual area codes or numbers and only receive the calls you want. After it hangs up on them the light will blink and you can see what number called . The one I really laugh at is the dummy that try s calling  with no number. That is a complete waste of time for them.

Actually, it's the same as any other 800 exchange.  If you call that number, then the person/company being called (in this case, the telemarketer) is charged for the long distance service.  The fact that they call you from an 855 area code does not mean that you get charged.  It means they get charged when they receive a call.

Believe me, if there was a way you could get charged just by answering your phone, you would have heard the howls long before this.

These calls are a real PITA.  When you answer there is no response. I tried to call back twice to ask to be put on DO NOT CALL and all it did was ring and ring. Interestingly the rings were short, not the standard ring you are used to.

Repeatedly calls and if and when we answer the phone, there is brief "nothingness" and after we say hello 2  or 3 times, the line is disconnected.

If you do try to call them back to talk to someone either for (1) finding out what is is about, (2) advising them not to call again, or (3) just to give them 'what-for', it just rings and is not answered.

Just got a call from this number and did a search for 855 area code . Found it is a toll free number where the person being called is charged and not the scammers making the call. This is a new low. You are disturbed and charged for the call!

A great block is Google Voice. You must have a phone service that can be set to simultaneously ring multiple phone, like Vonage VoIP for it to work.

They call at least once a day..I never answer calls with 855..866.800 etc. If it's important or ligit they'd leave a message, which they never do. Do Not Call List is another joke...

Do not want this number bugging me....

I received a call from this number at 1:35PM today.  Caller ID identifies this caller as a private name. No message was left and this number is not a valid telephone number. How can that be if they used this number?

Received call - did not answer.  Answering machine picked up "hello" "hello" - then finally hung up.  Caller ID says Toll Free 855-272-6815. These calls are very annoying.  We, too, are on the DNC list.

Call me all the time. No one is on the line when I pick up. I'm on the DNC list. So frustrating!

This person is calling few times daily including weekends.  When I  pick up the telephone, they hung up.  It is annoying.
