I have recently taken over my elderly moms finances and noticed a $279 electronic check from Fraudwatch.  Have been unable to reach them yet.  Has anyone tried to deal with it from their bank to reverse the charge?

My mother (76 yrs old) received a call from a woman claiming to be the Fraud department and told her a young man was trying to cash one of her checks and wanted to know if she authorized this transaction, of course she said no she did not and the woman stated that she needed to confirm my mother's bank information in order to stop the transaction.  My mother was frantic with worry and was caught off-guard by this woman's claims so she did as the woman asked and provided all the numbers off the bottom of one of her checks.  Just so happens my mother had already written that same check (number) to a local grocery store a few days prior so when she received her bank statement a couple weeks later she nearly had a heart attack when she found that this so-called "Fraud department" took $289 from her account by submitted a online check with the statement "Draft authorized by depositor - no signature required" and the company's name as listed as Fraud Watch.  The phone number provided for this con artist is 855-299-0021 and a Google search shows the company is also known as First Consumers Fraud, ConsumersFirst.com, and several other similar names and they have hundreds this same complaint.  Don't waste your time calling their phone numbers, they will only scam you further - instead IMMEDIATELY contact your bank and demand a "Fraud Affidavit" to complete and sign so that the bank can investigate and you should get your money back from your bank.  Also report to your local STATE Attorney General to file a consumer fraud report so that these criminals can be stopped.

My elderly mother was scammed by these low lifes.  They prey on the elderly who are on fixed incomes. I can not see how the can live with themselves.  No conscience at all.  Please be sure to tell anyone not to let these low lives have any information at all.  They took $144.50 out of her bank account. The listed themselves as First Consumers Fraud Watch.  How Ironic!!

Company seems to be targeting seniors.  My elderly mother is trying to get  $289 returned to her.   We have called the company 3 times in the past two months and she is still waiting for her money to be returned.  I found more information from other victims by searching 877-509-5290 on this site.
