Yes that is what they told me, i never called them. they threaten me with lawsuits and all of this.

Getting like 8 calls about serving me to go to court if I didn't give them 600.00 dollars for a loan I took out from western sky in 2011 and they are persistent and talk down to you like you are a kid.

This number has called numerous times to my work phone...I hang up (after the recording says 'if you are not (name here)'...yet they STILL continue to call.

Harrassing me at work , and at home , threatening me .  Funny how I filed bankruptcy and they still try they can pull something over me .  

The claim i owe $510 for a payday loan from august 2012.  He was very abusive and disrespectful.  I do not believe this i authentic.

They are not a real collector.  They are a scammer working your side of the street today.   Those fools depend on intimidation and bluffing their way into easy money.   You don't owe the alleged debt.   He can't do a damn thing about it.   Give him an anatomy lesson by telling him where he can kiss.

THIS COMPANY STP MEDIATION IS TRYING TO COLLECT A DEBT OF A PAYDAY LOAN FROM OCTOBER 2009, WHICH IS PAST THE 4 YEAR STATUE OF LIMITATIONS. THEY CALLED MY FRIEND AND MY HUSBAND BEFORE THE EVER CALLED ME DIRECTLY. THEY DID NOT MAIL ME ANYTHING. WHEN I ASKED IF THEY WOULD SEND ME WHAT IT IS I OWE, THEY SAID THEY CAN'T BECAUSE PEOPLE TRY TO FALSIFY THE DOCUMENT THEY SEND. THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL FILE SUIT AND CAN FILE SUIT FOR CHECK FRAUD. IF I OWE A DEBT I WILL PAY IT BUT THEY ARE REFUSING TO MAIL ME THE INFOMATION AND ARE SCARING ME AND MY FAMILY OVER THE PHONE. I CALLED IMMEDIATLEY TODAY WHEN I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM ON MY CELL PHONE. I SPOKE WITH KAREN SLATE. I TOLD HER I WAS IN BANKRUPTCY. SHE TOLD ME THAT I HAD TIL 830AM TOMORROW TO CALL HER BACK OR SHE WOULD PROCEED WITH FILING A LAWSUIT. HER PHONE NUMBER IS 866-910-7441

I've received messages on my phone from the STP Group about a "serious personal matter" that I supposedly need to contact them immediately about, the number is 855-326-2538 in the message and in my incoming calls record. They give an account number that sounds kind of like a ticket number from a court, but most of the message is automated. This type of harassment is why I avoid answering my phone and keep my voicemail clear for messages.

I also got a call from STP group for "Hallie Rote" saying she's a "defendant" in a case of "worthless checks."

Debt collectors with the company will not offer consumers identifying information such as the company's location or licensing/registration information, however.  

Consumers should note that the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires debt collectors to identify themselves, as well as name the original creditor. Debt collectors must also provide verification of the debt if a consumer issues a written request within 30 days of receiving initial notice. The Act also prohibits collectors from engaging in the false misrepresentation of a debt's character, amount, or legal status.  

A BBB investigation found STP & Associates was not actively registered with the Texas Secretary of State (SOS). BBB investigators found no record of STP & Associates in the state's database. State law requires debt collectors engaging in debt collection activities within Texas be bonded and registered with the SOS. Before paying any debt, verify the company contacting you is licensed to collect debts in your state. Beware of callers refusing to provide you with their identifying information or those who threaten you with legal action or arrest.

I've been receiving the same calls. They even called my sister and left a message for me. I don't give out family numbers so I knew right off the bat this was a scam. They had the last four digits of my checking account and said they plan to sue both myself and my bank. really.

It is a scam operation.  A boiler room type company.  They call people, tell them that you passed a bad check and want you to pay for it.  Then you give them your checking acct # and next thing you know your acct is been drained cleaned.

This is in fact a scam. No such debts exist. Do NOT I repeat DO NOT send any payment. They will not provide you with any information in writing. It is a scam.

I've also been receiving phone calls from this number. After three days of them calling they finally leave an automated voicemail stating they are a company by the name of STP, and there is file #: 6428 (made up number). I called back to speak with somebody. A woman claimed I had commited fraudulent activity with a checking account. They referenced the last four numbers of the checking account (which has been closed for over 4 years now) and stated I defaulted on a payday loan from Integrity loaning services, and they were trying to recover damages. Right off the bat I knew this was a scam. I have never received a loan from the named company. After telling the woman that I believe she's part of a scam, she became very heated and immediately raised her voice. Trying to persue the conversation and claim that the $756 was a legitamate debt that I owed. Asked if it was my signature would surely be on it. Please mail me all records. She heated around the bush and said I signed it electronically. The kicker is they had my old physical address from 5 years ago, the last four of my social (of which I never confirmed) phone number, and an old bank account number (last four numbers of account). I believe this is a scam. I hung up with her before she could even request a payment or money. She sounded American though? Also the date of this loan seemed very close to a date of an old loan I had, but paid in full. Why is this the first phone call I'm receiving over a payday loan that was issued in 2009? Sounds like a scam to me. Also there seems to be of no such activity on any of my credit reports? Sounds sketchy

Call me several times a day.  I called back after I kept getting automated messages on my phone.  They say I owe a payday loan from over a year ago to a company I never heard of.  When I asked for all the paperwork to be sent to me, I was told that I was being abrasive and hard to work with!!  I never raised my voice and never cussed on the phone.  I kept saying to send me the case information but they wouldn't!!!  They wanted me to pay them $350 and not send me any info.  The mans name was Mr. Prince.  He then said that I had made a payment arrangement several days ago with them!!  I told him that this was the first time I have even talked to anyone there about this!!!  This is crazy.  If it was a real debt collector they would send you paperwork instead of calling you and harassing you on the phone.

I love how they constantly call and leave no message. I look up any number that I do not know. If it appears to be a scam, I refuse to answer.  After about 10 times of them calling, they decide to leave a message at the end of the day.  I am not calling anyone back until a real person decides to leave me a real message with real information.

Kept also getting calls about the same subject matter when I asked for there address they took 20 min. To give a p.o. Box in Texas.

Been getting messages on my home line from this group with a case number. They call themselves, 'Offices of STP Group'. They claim that I've written bad checks and have a client they must respond. Every message becomes more threatening. It's more irritating to me because I am a legal studies major, and they haven't served this paperwork, stating I will need to appear in small claims, etc. I've left them a couple of messages and in their messages, they say I never respond. My grandparents always get worried when they hear the message but I've dealt with a similar situation before where another company had threatened me at the office. I researched the phone number, the company name, and the 'people' that use Washington and Lakewood. They were not found. When you type STP Group, it's a completely different company. If they are going to threaten you over the phone, just tell them to send the paperwork and ask who has a case against you. They managed to find numbers....why not mail out important documents if there's a case?
