This telemarketer has been calling for a long time.  I got curious and looked up Central Donation Services Inc at MD Dept of Assessments and Taxation. Central Donation Services, Inc had its corporate status revoked in 2008 for failure to file personal property returns.  So, who is the real caller?

Reputable charities do not solicit donations over the phone.
These are all scams who claim to be charities, police or fire, Salvation Army, st Jude, none of these do phone calls .  MS doesn't either.   Gonna send a truck to pick up donations....not true..all scams.  Scammers say anything they want to suck in the gullible.   Before I stopped answering every time the phone rang, I had a call that I won publishers clearing house and they would be at my house with flowers and TV  cameras etc.   BUT FIRST I had to send a money order for FedEx to deliver my money ,,,1500.00. Told them to take it out of my winnings, they said can't do that.   I knew this was a scam and had no intention of running to Walmart for a money gram ...they said send it ti Brian in Bermuda .   I said ok and hung up.   They called back about 6 times , guess they were looking for their check.
So don't answer, that's all they want is your number or trying to scam you.
Just do not answer the phone.  I can't see blaming a political party either.

I picked up the 5th call. It was AmVets confirming a donation pickup for tomorrow. I'm not sure why they didn't leave a message. It is a good organization that I have used before to donate unwanted items. If it helps veterans, so much the better. It doesn't depend which SOB of a president sent them to war.

I received four calls in a row this morning, but no one left a message. I usually do not answer 800-type calls. I do have a Vietnam Veterans of America donation pickup scheduled for tomorrow, but not for a car. The organization usually leaves messages for reminders.

They keep calling with an automated message.  If I don't answer, it is left on voicemail.  The call claims to be "Central Donations" collecting for this and that charity.  I have the number blocked on my phone, but they keep getting through.  That is not a legitimate company works, so I would NEVER donate to them.

DO NOT ANSWER PHONE.  DO NOT TALK TO THE GOONS.   WHEN YOU ANSWER YOU ARE LETTING THEM KNOW YOU HAVE A WORKING NUMBER, WHICH THEY THEN SELL TO OTHER TELEMARKETERS.   Also, don't push any numbers to be taken off list, that just gives them more info!!

IT'S HARD BUT LET MACHINE GET IT.  I DID THIS AND NOW ONLY GET A FEW CALLS A MONTH.   JUST LOOK AT CALLER ID.  
I used to tell them I wasn't interested, talk to supervisor, pushed button 1, etc.   blew a whistle etc.  
nothing stops them......only way is JUST DON'T ANSWER OR TALK TO THEM!
Eventually they slow down and almost stop.

Scam!     Said MS on my machine.   My daughter has MS and they don't do this.
Reputable charities do not do this.

It is MS looking for donations of clothing, etc.

AmVets calling for donations.  I asked them for a donation myself and the person laughed.  I said I did not have anything to give, but wanted to now what they could provide for me.  We made small talk and I scheduled a pick up for my neighbors house.

These jerks just keep calling from different phone numbers to get around peoples' phone blocks and also block their names from showing up on peoples' caller ID's.  Doesn't look like an honest operation at all.  This is a scammer claiming to represent different charities who probably pockets a lot of donations that come in.  Don't give to them.  There's no way to verify where the money really goes.

This number has called me at least 5 times a week. Early morning, middle of the day and at night.  Why is this crap allowed?  How can some of these #s call & be out of service if you call them back? Sickening!!!

I got this call but hung up before anyone could get to me.  I have been scammed before from this area code.

This is a scam.  I got into a five minutes fight with some piece of s*** calling from this number.  NO CHARITY ORGANIZATION WOULD EVER ALLOW that s*** to happen with one of their representatives.  Thses people are thives, and they call bosting different cherities, changing up their technique and sometimes even their number (rarely changing their number though), no matter how many times you tell them to take you the f*** off of their call-lists, and of their subsidiaries etc. they will continue to call, you just have to block them AND REPORT THEM.  Their a bunch of scam-artists posing under the front of legitimate organizations.  F*** these people.  I already traced the calls back, and reported the living s*** out of them, but if they call again, I'm crashing their s***, I'll make a weekend of it...

Bill is worse than a nuisance... he's an idiot!  He runs, monitors and make calls from the phone room.  No wonder this company is missing a few spokes.  I know about Bill and his unholy practices and ignorance.  I worked for Central Donations before Bill fired me for telling the people I called to "have a BLESSED DAY" or "I'll keep you in prayer and GOD Bless You!  He (Bill) stated "I couldn't say that because "some of them could be Atheists or Muslims and may take it as an insult and we'll be in trouble and we won't get any  donations from them. You can say "have a terrific or great day....but never, ever tell them GOD BLESS YOU or have a Blessed Day!! Got it?  Because it don't sound right and some people don't like you to say that."  He said that he would have to check with "Corporate" to see if I can say that.  If not...I would have to stop telling people..."GOD BLESS YOU" and "HAVE A BLESSED DAY."  The next day he Bill said "corporate" says it's alright for you to tell people you're talking to "GOD BLESS YOU" and Have a Blessed Day.  The following day he fired me and lied about why he fired me.  He got that telemarketing phone room scared and now he (Bill) has them giving up their "Sunday Worship" and "Sunday Family Time" Day to report to work at Central Donation Services to disrupt the only rest day for most working and retired people in Delaware, Philadelphia, Georgia, Texas, Washington, D.C. and of course our dear own Maryland, badgering them for donations and his ego. He even threatened all telemarketers that attend church and performed duties at their perspective churches...."if you can't work on Sunday...then find another job!"  Sunday 's workday was postponed until the following Sunday because Bill didn't want it to interfere with "Super-Bowl Sunday. The following Sunday was mandatory.  I see now why most would rather donate to The Purple Heart, Salvation Army or OTHER
reputable charities in place of Central Donation Services.  With as many Thrift Stores that they have in these states and cities, they (CDS) really have to work these telemarketer to death to keep these thrift stores of theirs running to continue making their exhorting profits.    

Called again, twice in one day begging for money while hiding behind the "unavailable" mask on the caller ID.  If they don't identify themselves up front, something is wrong about the caller.  These kinds of calls are usually scams to pocket money while deceiving them into thinking their money is going to a real charity when it is not.  Don't give to them.

Too many annoying calls from this number.  Latest was 9:00 at night which cuts into sleeping time.

Be careful.  Like the street bums wanting a handout - just because their sign says veteran  or have 3 children doesn't mean it's true. An investigative reporter in this area discovered that the Purple Heart charity actually gives two percent (2%) of their profits to Purple Heart.  (The charity owner has mansions in two states which were shown).  Later on, the same reporter discussed the matter with a representative of Purple Heart who said, and I quote, "Two percent is better than no percent." That was the end of my clothing donations to Purple Heart.

Called again today. We have this number blocked, so it only rang once before the call blocker stopped it (wonder investment, BTW). Thanks to those on this thread who verified that this is a good number to ignore. We never answer "Unavailable" IDs and block them when they call more than once.

Be careful - DO NOT CALL BACK!!! If you do, they slam your number with usage charges.  They WANT you to call back to see who it is/what they want, then they put you on hold and charge you by the minute!  

Called at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and the left the message, "Leave a message, the f&^%." Couple that with a caller ID of "Unavailable," and yes, it meets my definition of a scam or at best, harassment calling. If the individual who made the call has personal troubles, a real charity could use them in some other job than cold-calling. If the organization behind this had even a shred of legitimacy, they'd be proud to put their name in their caller ID. Res apse loquitur, as the lawyers like to say.

Central Donations called on a Saturday afternoon at 1:50 pm....I answered and no one was on the other end. I called back right away to have them put me on the Do Not Call List and they said their office was closed! THEY JUST CALLED ME!!! It said their office hours are from Mon-Fri 5-10 pm and 9-4pm on Saturday. Please call back during normal business hours........Ummm I did!

I received a call from MS last night under this number. Leaving a the same message as Justus. I just received another one today which I answered... nobody there, Looks like a method of looking for answering machines/ VM for advertisement purposes ...not specific telemarketing which is a way to circumvent the law, Tricky buggers....

This call is from the Multiple Sclorosis Fund.  They were calling to remind about being in the area to collect old or unwanted clothes.
