Really? legitimate? hahah your part of this group!!! you guys have manage to convince my wife to sign up for this, after 2 months didn't receive anything from them, and then got charge with$20.99 and when I tried to dispute they said that according to terms and condition, there is no refund? its OK paid them up and canceled the credit card it self! what a scam. It is part of HBC and so sad that you guys can do this for your credit card members. $20.99 is all your worth off and you will never anything from us again even your retail.

The similar story happened to me! I think it's just a scam! I asked her the website, she said I could get all the information from their website and I'll receive some package by mail. When she talk about  a free 25$ HBC gift card and membership, I recognized that's a fraud. So I told her I don't wanna try it.

I was getting called once a day at about 3 in the afternoon, so I went to their website and called the privacy number. They asked a few more questions. (As mentioned by another poster.) Then they said that it would take 30 days to take me off the list.

I get calls from this number repeatedly. I don't pick up. They leave voice mail, saying hello and my name (somewhat garbled, both male and female voices) and nothing else. No company name or reason for the call is given.

They call at all hours of the day. Have been told politely and then not so politely to stop calling. They persist and now most of the time do not answer. I've called the number back entering my number so they stop the calls and they continue. I've started writing vulgar letters to HBC and will escalate until they stop. I've cut up my credit card.
Do they not know about No Call lists. We need an act with teeth. These guys have to be charged thousands per call. It has to hit their bottom line.

I answered the call and a young guy was trying to sell me so sort of insurance on behalf of HBC.

Would not take "No thank you" and kept continuing on (while my dinner was burning slowly on the stove).

I asked where he was calling from and he said the Philippines, so I hung up quickly without disclosing any info.

I received a call in August about the program and asked for them to send information about it. It appears that they have been billing me ever since on my hudson's bay credit card. I have yet to receive any information about it and I now realize that the 877 number has been calling me several times a day (which I have ignored) not knowing who they were. I have contacted them and they are refused to reimburse me for a program that I haven't received anything noting that I was automatically signed up and had 30 days to contact them to cancel the membership.

The strange thing about this call was that it didn't come through on my phone.  They called a family member on their cell phone and asked for ME by first name (I live by myself).  This family member told them they had the wrong number (not telling them that they are related to me), but the lady on the line swore up and down that she had dialed my number.  Sounds strange, but I have an uncommon and unique name, so it is beyond coincidental that she asked for me by name.  I found it strange that she was certain she had dialed the right number - after all, when I moved I provided them with my updated contact information.  It's one thing if they call me, but it's entirely another if they call my family and bother them.

Just to add to the information provided by "Called on cell phone" above, you can opt out of the Hbc practice of using your personal information for marketing purposes by contacting them by phone at 1-866-225-8251 or by email at privacy@hbc.com. You will need to tell them which marketing channels you want to "close" - Hbc mail,Hbc telephone calls,Hbc email,Hbc credit statement offers, and/or Hbc selected partners. To support your request, you need to provide the following information/answer the following questions:
- Full Name:
- Current Address:
- Telephone number:
- Previous address if current address has been changed in the last 10 years:
- "Do you have an Hbc Credit card?"(This includes Hbc, Zellers and The Bay}:
- "Do you have an Hbc Rewards card?"
- "Have you registered for Gifts at a Bay or Home Outfitters in the past 10 years?"
- "Have you purchased any Home Furnishings, Large Appliances and Electronics?"
- "Have signed up for an Hbc.com membership or the eNewsletter?"
- "Have you enrolled in the Preferred Client Program at any of our Bay stores?"
- "Have you recently received any promotional mail from the Bay cosmetics departments?"

They tell you it could take up to 90 days for the calls to stop.

It's a telemarketing solicitation through the Bay called Lifestyle Essentials.  It's a legitimate offer.  The product gives customers access to discounts to restaurants, stores and services.  As an enrollment bonus the customer is entitled to receive a $ 25 Hbc gift card as a thank you, after 90 days being a member.

It was a woman who offered an exclusive membership with The Bay, calling it a lifestyle membership-- "save BIG with all HBC stores and other participating stores"  She offered a free $25 HBC gift card and trial membership.  Afterwards the membership would be $16/month????  Anyway, I asked her for the website link, and she didn't mention anything.  I asked her for the conditions of the membership and she didn't say anything.  She wanted me to verify my name and address and I wouldn't.  Anyway, she hung up on me when I told her I didn't care.  Sounds like a scam

Finally picked up and it was a female caller saying she was calling from HBC offering some kind of exclusive trial offer for emergency road side assistance.  I hung up on her.  It's a scam.  I'm quite positive the same exact voice used to call me 3 times a day from a 1-888 number saying she is from Mosaik Master Card. I finally told her I've reported the number to the police and she hasn't called from that number since.

Received calls yesterday at 6:56PM and today at 1:59PM, ignored both.  Called number today and heard the same as the others--an automated message about an offer from HBC, and an option to add my number to their Do Not Call list, which I did.  Will see if I get any more calls from them; the CRTC web site says they have 31 days to stop calling after being asked.  I signed up for an HBC card a year or two ago and used it only twice; I may even have cancelled it, I'm not sure.
