Same Scam happening in Ohio, see below:
This company first came to the attention of the Cleveland BBB in February, 2011, when several area consumers received a post card which included a Carnival Cruise Line logo.
The card states "In celebration of our Grand Opening in your area, You have been selected to receive a "Complimentary 8 Day/7-Night Cruise for 2 with an outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S." The card also said "Call within 48 hours. You will also receive as a bonus 2 Roundtrip Airfares Leaving from or Going to Any Major Airport in the Continental U.S.!!"
Consumers report that recipients must attend a presentation at a local hotel in order to qualify for the cruise. (Although the card contains the Carnival Cruise Line logo, it also includes the following disclaimer: "This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines, but they are a major supplier.")
Consumers report the presentation is given by owner, Corie Wilner, who makes reference to having office locations in Florida and Nevada. The focus of the presentation is a travel membership program which guarantees discounts on air fair, rental cars and hotels. Consumers report the price of the travel membership is $8995 with some fee reduction offered.
Attendees who do not sign up for the program are provided gift vouchers. One, for a cruise, requires a $99 refundable deposit. The other, for airfare, requires a $75 refundable deposit. Subject to specific terms & conditions, both are provided by VIP Travel Reservations of Port Orange, Florida.

The BBB has confirmed the company was first registered by Mr. Corie Wilner with the Ohio Secretary of State on January 14, 2011. The BBB has, to date, been unable to confirm the existence of any Florida or Nevada companies with whom Mr. Wilner may have been affiliated.

I received the same card. It looked fishy to me too. Did you call the 855 number?

I suspect this is either a scam or a hook to get you into a hard sell situation.

I don't believe there are any freebees. They want something.

Yep. I just got that card too. It would be nice if we didn't have to worry about being scammed and it was true.....:(

We received a call yesterday.

This number is listed to call for a "complementary 8-day Carnival cruise" on a mailout card I received. In small print it says the offer is not sponsored by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines, but they are a major supplier. If it sounds too good to be true...
