The called all my family members.  Trying to say there was a hearing set up in HORRY County (which is pronounced Or-ree) as the H is silent. Claims I was going to court over a check fraud.  Which I DON"T even own a checking account and have never as a matter of fact.  I is a scare tatic company.  Just don't talk with them their a company who buys up charged off debt.

Several people at this company called me. On 11/8/2013 they called me at work when I was off that day. This is a copy of the e-mail I received from my company.
I received a call form Monica with Colorado Processing and Services. She probably shouldn?t have given me any details, but it sounds like they are trying to serve you with papers. I told her I would pass on the phone number and case number. I also informed her that no one is allowed in the building unless they are an employee.  The phone number is 855 339 4453 and the case number is CO********.
3 days ago they called me at home and said I was evading the "deputy".

They did the same to me! They even called my work when I was out of the day and I received an e-mail from my company about a suspicious call. This is illegal! They called my home and said I was "evading the Deputy". How do I report a situation like this?

I am getting this same call; it started yesterday

They have called my APARTMENT MANAGERS OFFICE because they have invalid and incorrect information.  First time I called they were way vague about what the case was related to and acted all pissy with me when I pushed for more info plus they had someone elses social security number attached to my name. 2nd time I called they asked if I was my ex-husbands ex-girlfriend or if we shared the same last name.  They are bullies who have purchased ppls info, acting like they are with a firm trying to collect an old debt but they have no authority to do any of that.  I'm sure if they collect anything from you and it isnt a scam then they probably get a percentage of the amount they collected from the original debtor or whoever they bought the information from.

I received a call in the afternoon from this company demanding to get my address so they could serve me or I would have to appear in court because I was being sued by the State.  Right away a red flag went up because the State does not sue anyone unless it's tax related or child support.  The next thing I'm talking to a man by the name of Alex Meza at Steele Morgan & Associates.  He demanded payment be made or I would be served.  Meza said he purchased the loan from Chase Bank.  I immediately knew I was speaking to fraudulent people.  The first sign of this is the fact that they do not read the disclosure required by all creditors to be read to the consumer - you know the one that goes "this is an attempt to collect a debt and every effort . . . " - by California State Law, this disclosure MUST be made.  Secondly they put way too much pressure on the person to make a payment.  Thirdly, the guy speaking keeps putting the calls on hold so he could buy time to make up more b***s***.  I called him back today and told him point blank that they are running a fraudulent business and that I am going to the District Attorney's office on Monday morning to file a claim against them.  I have also filed a police report for possible retaliation, harassment and violation of my civil rights with the local law enforcement.   I also notified all those close to me to be careful with these type of calls.
Pass the word around and make people aware of this fraud and don't ever give anyone any credit card information over the phone without first getting verification of the debt in WRITING, no exceptions.  We have rights as debtors and consumers to protect ourselves and we need to remember that.  Don't allow yourselves to be pushed around or threatened by these scum bags that feed of us who have been economically disadvantaged for one reason or another and cannot pay all our debts.  This does not make us criminals and we should not allow ourselves to be treated as such.  Protect yourselves!

Calls from this number have been made to people I know and don't know leaving messages about a case number, etc. serving papers, etc. Somehow they have obtained numbers of people I know and I don't know how they did it.  I will be filing a police report for harassment.

Got a call from this 855-339-4453 claim to be from the clerks office of the courts in Orange County California.  I called the number and got some guy on the phone who refused to give me any information, but insisted that I was going to appear in court.

I asked what court he was from and he refused to answer.  He just kept saying he was from the clerks office and that was I needed to know.  I hung up.

I waited a few minutes and called the number back and got some girl this time.  I ask her who I was calling.  She informed me that I was calling the law office of Stele & Morgan out of Ontairo Californai.  I asked to speak to either Steale or Moragn and she put me on hold for 10 minutes and then the same guy I had spoken to (who continued to refuse to give his name) got on the phone and threaten me with someone was going to be at my house to take me to court.

I demanded to speak to either Steale or Moragn and he just kept threatening that someone was going to be at my house to take me into court.

Somebody should do something about the law offices and the way they do something, but the California State Bar does not care, so they let these lawyers do whatever they want.

If you get a call from this number, insist on talking to one of the named owner attorneys.

I haven't received calls from this number but my brother in law, landlady and others have regarding ME. Each person gets a different story everything from being told I have a bench warrant out to being sued in small claims court. They are aggressive, calling every day without end. Who are they and what can I do to make them stop this harassment and character attack!

My cell phone rang and the caller I.D. listed the number as Line 1.  Since I hate answering blocked & private calls without knowing who it is ahead of time, I told my 14-year-old son to answer.  They immediately told him that they were calling because I had a summons to appear in court.  Supposedly it was in reference to an old P.O. Box I used to have.  This seemed odd to me, but since I did used to live in the area they said (Porterville, CA -- I used to live in Poplar, CA -- same zip code for p.o. boxes)
I thought that this may be a serious phone call.  They also left a file # CA 47815 DL.  They told my son that the "deadline" was at 11:00 a.m. the next day.

When I called back about 20 minutes later, they kept putting me on hold and eventually transfered my call to someone who put me on hold again.  (By now I'm started to get annoyed.)  Anyway, this person informs me that he can put a hold on the paperwork concerning my case, which is set to be mailed out to me the very next morning.  I said "O.K.", and he put me on hold again while he put a "stop" on my file.  He comes back on the line to inform me that the paperwork is now on hold and will not be mailed out to me, yet.

Then, he asks me if I know why I'm being sued.  I said, "No."  He says, "Let me check."

Well, it turns out that he's calling because I'm being sued by Chase Bank over a credit card balance in the amount of some $3,200.00

I THOUGHT THIS WAS BECAUSE OF THAT OLD P.O. BOX I USED TO HAVE!!

I figured out that this was a collection agency that had lied to my son just to get me to call them back.  The guy on the phone started telling me that they were here to help me resolve this matter.  He started asking me some questions which I was very hesitant to answer.  I told him that I am unemployed at the moment.  Then, he wanted to know who was supporting me.  So, I hung up on him.  By then his questions were starting to sound a little too personal.

Now I know not to take calls from Line 1 -- just let it go straight to voice mail.  When I start working again, and my husband and I get back on our feet financially, I will call Chase Bank directly and work out some sort of payment arrangement with them.

He did the same to me....although he was not calling me....he was calling a friend and said he was a process server and would serve the papers in 24 hours if he did not hear from the friend.....I think that should be against the law...my friend was trying to pay the bill but could not get hold of anyone.......

Today, they called my dad's house phone (with a blocked number) and gave him my name and told him that someone has filed a case against me and that it was very important for me to call back. I called back but no one answered. They did not give my dad ANY information and just told him to call them back. Whats really creepy is that how they got my dad's home phone number?!?!? It really is creepy....

Called, stated that he was calling from the court house about a summons, gave a case number. Debt collector using strong arm tactics, aimed at friends and family to pressure action.

I got a message yesterday purportedly from the San Bernardino Clerk office (855-339-4453) that said a Joseph Pachinski (whom I don't know and never heard of) had used my name as a reference and given them my home phone, name and address. Wanted me to call and give them a file name (CA472-16DL) as reference and if I didn't call back withing 24 hours they would mail something.
Pretty sure it's not a valid call but it really disturbed me they would have my info. and use names and file names to get my attention.  Tried calling number this morning from work but recorded voice says "call cannot be completed as entered". Creepy.

They left me a message from this number saying that they were looking for my brother and that my brother is being sued. So I called them back and they put me on hold for a long time. I kept getting transferred to different department. I finally talked to someone. He said that my brother was being served and sued by someone but they couldn't release any information. I thought that was weird. I asked them how they got my number, he said my brother had put my name and my husband's number as a reference. I kept asking them reference for what but they wouldn't tell me. It was just an odd phone call. My husband told me just don't pay attention to this. This is a scam.

They called and threatened my mom with legal action.  They told her I was in trouble.  I called them back and the jerk kept putting me on hold.  I gave them my address and phone number but they never showed up.  I didn't see anything filed at the court house either.  I told them to leave me the f@ck alone and they said no.

Has only called me once, but has called my friends several times a day regarding me.  I called them, told them I was recording the call because by law they are not allowed to contact friends once they have confirmed my number and address.  He said he was recording the call, I said Good, we both are.  He told me I am not allowed to record it, and he hung up.  Some scam, but, they will contact all of your friends either on myspace or facebook or your email contacts...

They called me from this number and said that I was sued because of a credit card payment. They have lots of information about me and was expecting me to pay 4,300 USD today. He said that he is working for .

If you call your county you will find there is no such case against your sister.  This company runs your credit report finds debts and tries to collect on them.  Paying them will not only not satisfy the debt but put you at risk.

I am currently on the phone right now (on hold). They called this morning asking for my cousin who does not live here saying that he is in the process of getting sued. Whats wierd is that they have my home address. So the associate comes back on the phone and says, we're sorry, we made a mistake, theres no issue here, sorry for the misunderstanding.

We went to from being sued from Steele Morgan and associates to a misunderstanding???.... i dont know but it sounds kind of fishy!

I got a call on my cellphone and they were looking for my sister to serve her a notice to appear in court.  They said it was important that she called them back or else she would get a failure to appear.  When I asked why they were calling me, and how they got my information, they said it came up in a background check and they were calling everyone looking for her.  At first the women told me that they would come to my house regardless, but when I told them I wouldn't be home, the women said she would issue a "cease a desist" on my address so they would not come to my home.  Basically, the story didn't track.  They game me a Case # and phone number to pass onto my sister, which I did, and that is how she came across this site.

I just received a call from this number also, saying they will mail papers to my address. Weird thing is my name and my cousins name was mentioned in the message. The person said he was calling from county clerk office.

i have gotten numerous calls, but not to me, to other people. i am finally calling back to see who it is. i am being transferred to so many different places. i am not sure what this is, but they are also saying they want to serve me. i will post an update as soon as i get one.

Got a call from 855-339-4453 trying to "serve papers" to my daughter who is a minor!!!!!  Better not happen again.

I received a call at work from 855-339-4452 trying to serve papers but I have no idea why. They dont answer the nuber when called back.  Is there any validity to this?

They called and left a message about needing to serve papers and trying to validate an old address.
