Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

Debt Collector
Used deception practices by portraying they were a law firm - shame shame shame - work on commission?  a debt collector cannot portray something they are not so don't be fooled - they're research department did not do their homework well either.  I am a debt collector and we do not harrass people- we work with them and do not call during dinner hours either - must be a new company or one that is failing miserably.  Funny thing is I have no debt so they really are off the mark.

Debt Collector
10 year old debt that was charged off but now this new company poses as a law firm and threatens that a case has been filed against you and they even use other family names that are deceased - they probably should have done better research - stupid company to keep buying a debt over 10 years old and charged off - must pay their employees cheap wages -

Debt Collector
Calls posing as a process server. This is actually a Bill Collector lying. Very suspect and I doubt it is legal.
