Very rude and unprofessional, this is such a scam.  Uses a different company name every day. Told them i wish they would report me because they said that a year ago and it was for my husband to begin with.  She said that she was going to put on facebook that I was fat and ugly, I said go for it,  lol.  Stupid people.  Then I asked for her company name and then I asked for her name and she wouldnt give me either, however when I listened to the voicemail it was a different company name.  Got my blood boiling....

ASB & Associates just left me a message that there will be a service of process next Wednesday @ 11:45 but never said what for and then just left a number to call back.  they called on a different number then what is posted 888-682-7475. Is this all a scam? I have never heard of a company calling you to inform you of being served. A process server gets you when you least expect it so you can't hide from them.

Received various calls at my work of employment. The woman "Kim Colson" told my administrator that she was my daughter. I made arrangements on a loan settlement and she advised me to call if changes where to be  made. I notified her and spoke to Kim again on 5 days prior to them taking the money out of this account to inform them that it would not be available and that I needed to change the info account and cancel this transaction. KIM became very unprofessional . Yelled that "Do you think this is a JOKE" She proceeded to threaten me with legal action and Hungup on me. She proceeded with the action on this account which belongs to my daughter causing her account to spend out of control. My daughter notified the bank to get the number of ABS and the number listed is bogus. I am thinking this company is a Fraud. They need to pay.

I received a message today.  When I called back, the voicemail states it's Omni Group.  What bothered me about this voice message was they did not identify themselves, the message sounded like a recording that there was "check fraud in my county and I am the main defendant" yet did not give a name of who they were trying to reach, and check fraud is interesting as I do not have bad checks, nor have I ever used a pay day loan type place.  I have never had any written notice, so I am not calling them back.

They called from # 941-301-8637, and gave 941-347-4760 as the call back number in addition to this 855 number.  Neither 941 #'s pull up in Google or any of these type websites.

I just got off the phone with these idiots and can't believe what just happened.  My brother is the one who defaulted on the loan but they had my driver's license number which concerns me.  The tip off that this was a scam was when the woman told me they were an attorney's office and that I would be "RELIABLE" for the loan amount.  LOL  They wouldn't  confirm the name of their business and when I called the number back they hung up on me.

The company who has been calling you is probably a scammer. There is no evidence that they actually exist. They are probably criminals who have found your information online. Unless you receive written notification there is no reason to treat them as a real company. They may threaten you to scare you into paying them, but there is nothing they can actually do. Do not give them anything they ask for. File a complaint with your state attorney general's office or contact the new government agency which has been set up to handle consumer complaints:
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/get-help-now/c ... and-complaints/
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
You may also file a complaint with the FBI here:
http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx.
Payday loan sites get hacked on a seemingly regular basis and  scammers use info hacked from these sites to illegally collect money from unwary consumers. They will often know  personal info such as your last four digits of your SSN, DOB, address etc., all taken from the stolen records.  They use that info to get even more info on you from personal info sellers like Choicepoint. Unless you know for sure you owe the money, be very careful about giving them any personal info, especially bank account information (they will clean you out,).  Record the calls if legal in your jurisdiction, and demand a mailing  address so you can send them a "cease and desist" letter (see FDCPA Sect 809.)   Since these calls almost always come from overseas, there isn't much the authorities can do to stop them.  So protect yourself. The scammers use many scare tactics to force you to pay:
?    Threaten jail time, to "serve you at work or home" or " arrest you at work or home" if you don't pay by a specific hour
?    demand pre-paid Walmart card or Western Union tranfers to pay the supposed debt
?    Tell you "there is a case pending  in the courts".  Check your local courthouse and see if any company has filed a lawsuit against you.
?    Say they are federal agents, government agents, law enforcement, ie; "Officer Smith", ""Special Investigator Jones"
?    Say they are a lawyer or law firm. Ask for their exact company name, address and the names of their lawyers so you can look them up in their state bar association (this can be done online).
?    State a fake company name: again, get the exact address and look them up in their state's Division of Corporations:. If they are not listed there they are not a real company, and therefore, a SCAM!
?    Tell them by law they are required to send you a collection letter within 5 days of the first time they call you. Be suspicious if they refuse to give you their address or won't send the letter through the US Mail. Many scammers email or fax collection letters to skirt the Mail Fraud felony laws.
All Division of Corporations for every state can be found at the following link:
http://www.coordinatedlegal.com/SecretaryOfState.html
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do against scammers since they are  not legitimate and not much you can do either other than hang up on them. Keep telling them you know they are not real, they will not get anything from you, and are wasting their time.  Also, tell them you have reported them to the FBI.  Eventually they will leave you alone when they realize they will not be able to trick you into paying them.  Please see this ALERT  from the FBI:
http://www.ic3.gov/media/2010/101201.aspx
Here is a link to a recent Fox news report on this very scam:
http://www.myfoxla.com/dpp/news/investigative ... -scams-20110502
We hope this information has proven helpful. And please tell your family and friends to be on alert for this scam!
Thank you for contacting us.

I also got a call from Tony (Toni) Blunt. She first called my mother-in-law threatening that she was sending the sheriff with a summons...I called her back, informed her I had looked up their company and knew this was a scam. I insisted on them sending me a letter confirming the company ASB and Associates was legit. She refused. She asked me how I could have looked up their company since I didn't know the company name. I found out here: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-855-893-2465 by one of their other phone numbers. My husband calmly informed Toni that they would get nothing from us over the phone. I told her that I was going to report them to the FTC, because the FTC ordered them to stop doing this. She told me to "go ahead and report us"...Now seeing the same name under this post more than confirms that this is a scam.

Ignore them, do not fall for their scare tactic. No such thing as local county and attorney would call you.
I had the same people called me and said good luck. I check court doc in my county and there's no record of anything and no such lawyer. It's all to scare you.

I have received a call from a Ms. Holiday from this number. She identified Audubon Financial and said she was considering service of process for St. Armand's, a payday loan company. I recently turned over everything to a consumer credit counseling agency to manage my payments after being defrauded of $3,600. We have negotiated successfully with most creditors, but St. Armand's immediately sent my account to collection, even though the loan was for $250 and I have already paid them $450. The voicemail demanded that I call them back immediately or they would go forward.
