I did some digging around on this "company", not much to find on the Internet regarding them.  A user did post an address in another thread here (no surprise that it traces to the Western NY area)

Many states require out of state or out of country payday lenders to be registered with the department of corporations of a consumer's respective state. Most are not and do not disclose this to any potential   client. Therefore, any loan that is issued by a non-registered payday loan company of any giving state is in fact illegal.

It was considerate to take time from your busy schedule and provide a sample of your limited writing and syntax abilities.  Here is a little good advice, free of charge, if you can take it as well as you dish it.  If you ever plan to be taken seriously, write your posts at a reading level greater than 3rd grade, make your point(s) succinctly (briefly), use a spell checker and proof what you write.  Otherwise you are no better than the "morons" you criticized.  The fact that you had to pay an attorney to help you pay off bad debts indicates that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.  Wise-up Jr.

I got a voicemail from a lady named Melinda brown and she told me she worked for upc and associates and I had 72 hrs to answer her call because I was being sued for 700 dollars and she proceeded to tell me that I could make payment arrangements by the 24 using someonelses credit card or charges of check fraud for this payday loan were going to be sent to the county court house and I told her I had no money as I am applying for ssi disability and she went on a rage and told me I was just lazy and that she was going to call social security on my behalf so they would stop my social security disability and suspend my licensce for 180 days until I paid that loan company so I told her the only thing I could do was jail time and she said see you in court then she hung up and I tried calling back and a black sounding woman kept pretending to be a voice message kept answering this line and saying to leave Melinda brown a message then she would press a phone key to make a bogus beep sound and it sounded fake I don't know what to make of this

Hilarious! Did you have to fail a spelling test to shill for these crooks? And fail an IQ test too?

No wonder you can't spell "legitament" since you have no clue what it even means.

Now it's back to the boiler room with you. Thanks for playing.

I got a call I spoke to my attorney and paid them as my Attorney agreed this is a legitament company.  Also, for everyone saying that they have no lives and they can't believe they do this for a job how about us that screw up our credit and owe these credit agencies I consider myself the scum for even owing anything and boy do I feel better paying it off and raise my credit score.  So instead of being mad at them your truly mad at yourself for even owing these people.  If you didn't owe these people then you wouldn't even receive the calls so I agree with Scott from Texas!!!!!!

I think I would prefer advise from Alfalfa's post,  thank you.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

i laugh at all these post! I paid a acct off in dec 2012 and i read all these post so i freaked out and called them back and asked for a letter.  They emailed me a paid letter which I showed my attorney and he validated that it is a legitament company i actually faxed it to the credit reporting agency to see if there letter would update my credit report and it DID! So im not sure what exactly all these people are talking about but I felt i should put this up so people can make there own decision without it being altered by morrons like this person that wrote this post! I would recommen you get a letter from any company you pay and have a attorney validate the letter for you before u pay but when you listen to everything on the internet it can turn around and bite u in the rear end (you can find negitive stuff about walmart on the internet if you look so it doesnt mean there a fraudulant company) You might not agree with a companys approach on how they conduct business but it doent mean there not liget!!!FYI

I got a threatening call from a "Patricia" on this line with a case number.  She said for me to call an attorney named "Anthony" at 716-616-3589 and if i didn't call, they would assume i'm guilty...called the local court office, and the case number provided doesn't exist...I really wish these people would get a life.

I too got a call from a "Patrick Shaffer"  it freaked the crap out of me so I called the number back from which he called me from and it rang but then no VM came on but just the sound of a fax machine. So that threw a red flag so I called our local courthouse to see what this case was that was being filed against me. They transferred me to an investigator who took my info and look me up and he said he had no record of me. I then told him how when I called the local number back that showed up on my cell (different from what "Patrick" told me to call) how it sounded like it was a fax line. He asked me for that number and he looked it up and said it was a fax number to a local courier. He said he wanted to contact the local courier and could he call me back. He called me back and said he spoke to the courier who does deliver civil suits but they didn't have me in their system. I went in and met with the investigator and let him listen to the VM and he took down the number "Patrick" said to call and he is going to look into this. He said there are A LOT of scams going on right now. He said collectors are taking things to a level this is not legal (like posing a number to scare people) and it's only going to bite them hard because the people can actually turn around and sue and win. So if you are getting these VM.  SAVE THEM!!! You can use them in court to win for illegal harassment!

That's exactly what they do & they are the lowest form of life.  Too lazy to work for a living and they believe that what they do is acceptable.  It's a shame that their percentage of success is high enough that they keep up the scam.
