Earlier i got a call from a Jay Keyes at my work saying there is gonna be someone serving me at work. I freaked out, the information I was given helped alot though. It was to a law firm that collects debt. I had remembered opening up theCBNA account in high school. Luckily I was able to settle this matter out of court for about 40% of the principal balance. I did recieve a settlement letter via mail and was pleased.

Look here you shill, do you think anyone is going to fall for your fraudulent testimonial?  Can you prove that even one person here is DELINQUENT?  Speaking of bending over, telephone fraud is a serious criminal offense

At least we don't "Ben Dover" like you and take it - especially when none of us owes anything!  Take a hike, shill, and do let the door hit you where the dog would've bit you!

Got a call from a "Farley firm" wanting my call back. As I called the rep, named Jay Keyes helped me into why they called me at my job. I had to pay an old BofA account that went DELINQUENT(like 99% of you sorry people on this forum) anyway I settled this out of court for 20%. Seems like you people dont know what to do with luck, even  if it was handed to you.

Received a call with NO CALLER ID today , I let it go to VM.  Listened to message and it was a slight threat- stating that I was going to be served tomorrow btwn these hours and I had a civil lawsuit against me and I had 24 hours to call to settle or question.   The number they left was 855-394-5499, with a ref #.  I called back, gave ref # and spoke with a gentleman (one who spoke perfect English)... he told me he was Henry Reed from Kurt Walters and Associates and the Pinnacle Litigation Group.  Said I had an outstanding debt from 2005... YES 2005 !!!  There was a civil lawsuit pending but he could assist me if I was interested in taking care of this.   He had my full SSN, my address and name available...  Said a letter was sent out 35 days ago to my address...etc...etc...  Also knew my spouse's name and listed him as an authorized user....  NO such credit card was in our name and 9 years later- you look for funds???  I asked him to re-send that letter out to me certified - with this information- He said once I get it I could dispute it, sign page 3 and then I can go to court and he wished me good luck in court and that I can tell the judge that I have no knowledge of this....  I politely told him to mail out the documents with this information and this discussion would not continue...  He laughed and discussed telling the judge my story...     ?????????????????????????????????

Got a call at my work. Said his name was Raymond White and that I was going to be served some papers this Thursday if I do not call them back within 24 hours.  Said to call Kirk Walters & Associates with case no. *****.  They had my last 4 number of my social security and I know I do not have any debt collections so I am going to file a police report and report this number 1-855-394-5499, Mr Raymond White, and KW & Associates to my State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.  These type of scammers must be stopped!

I received a similar message on my Voicemail. However they left the last 4 of my social, address, old place of employment on the message which I saved. He said it was regarding a pending civil complaint. I called the number back. He answered the same as others have described.  I advised him I was recording the call he said he would not continue the conversation as long as I was recording. I advised him the message that was left directly violated the FDCPA, CFPB, and TCPA. He then stated that I obviously know what this is about and hung up on me.   I manage a LEGIT collection agency....they got the wrong one.  I suggest that each of you file a complaint with the FTC, your state attorney general, CFPB, TCPA, as well as your local police.  They are trying to use scare tactics to get you to pay a debt you do not owe which that alone is definitely 2 violations of the FDCPA. The message that they leave is also a violation. These scumbags need to get caught and shut down it is not right what they are doing not to mention it makes my employees jobs 10 times harder!!

Again - no one gets a heads up they'll be served - the process server just shows up, unannounced.  Per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt/proof they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of federal law.  If they had proof, they would mail you - just like every other legitimate, FDCPA-compliant debt collection agency.

Thank you for the information.  I am going to file a complaint.  When I called this morning he answered the phone corporate office, the name of the company is KW Associates out of CA.  He told me they out source their proccers and he would have to research to find out who called and spoke to my co-worker.  He has updated my file to not have calls to my job.  He told me it was for a $861.00 old debt from 2006.  Though now it is at $1600 and wanted to know if I wanted to settle out of court before papers are served?  I told him I will pull my credit report

Sorry Jack, real process servers don't work that way.  They don't let you know in any manner that they are trying to serve you.

Debt scammers, on the other hand,  often call their victims on the phone and  pretend they work that way, just to scare people into paying them.

The rest of your story is fiction.  Debt-scammer fiction, meant to scare people.

You're telling ghost stories, basically.

You think we are all stupid?

You got served?  Fine.  With what, I'd like to know.

Also, mind telling us:

(1)  The location of the courthouse where the case was filed.  Case number?
(2)   Date of filing
(3)   Name of plaintiff and defendant
(4)   Name of Plaintiff's Attorney
(5)   Address of Plaintiff's Attorney
(6)   Final disposition of the case.   Did they get a judgement against you?  Was it settled out-of-court?

Got news for you.

(1) Real process servers don't let you know they are going to serve you.
(2) Court cases are public records.
(3) If you were named in a court case all the major credit companies will be aware of it.   Your credit rating will stay down.  For quite a while.

But of course, there was no service or process.   No court case either.   You're just another kitchen-table scammer trying to convince us of--I really-don't-know-what.

Maybe that somehow or another  you're legitimate.

Well,  you're dong a lousy job of it.

You think we are all stupid or something?

Same thing happened to me today at work except I will be at work tomorrow. I cant believe this is legal. I am researching information on how to pursue this company with legal action. My person financial information should only be discussed with me and not my co-workers or managers.

You are so correct. The Paid collection account does nothing for your credit score and stays there for a very long time. This company doesn't follow FDCPA guidelines. They try to scare you into paying time barred debt with the threat of law suit.

Thank you for the information.  I was going to look into if I needed to be in court tomorrow.  I will try to call them back tomorrow and make sure I get their information if possible.  If I moved around, didn't have my address on file with the DPS, then I would get them calling my job, but they could serve papers to my home and I would appear in court if I was ordered by the courts to do so.

Your caller is a scammer.  They'll call you back claiming you missed "another" court date - because they want to scare you into paying a bogus debt, debt that's already been paid off, or even debt that is owed - but not to them.   Please do contact your local/district courthouses and ask them if you're on the court schedule - you won't be.  If you get any information as to who the caller is - company name, address, and the phone number - please do report them to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.

I got a frantic phone call from a co-worker after I had left the office today, she said she was told " I need to be in court and papers are bring delivered tomorrow at work" she knew I will not be in tomorrow and told the guy calling.  He said that she needed to make sure that I call 855-394-5499 with case #_ _ _ _ _ _ so I could be served at my home instead of work.  My poor co-worker was freaked out and thought I didn't appear in court when I should have and that I have done something illegal!  I am going to look into my legal rights over this matter!  I can't believe it is legal to give detailed information to a co-worker, if papers need to be served they should deliver with threats and harassment.  I tried to call the number back and got a recording to leave a message, didn't say who the business was, left my number so they can call me tomorrow and let them know I will be home if they want to serve me papers to appear in court.

Then you'll have no problem giving name of business, physical address and also a link to the "lawsuit" - btw, you must not have shown up in court, huh?  Judgments are not awarded unless you've gone to court and lost your case (or did not show up and thus had a default judgment).  In which case, why are you showing up here, now - after the fact?  And you're right - your post is "BS"!!

Love your name.  It certainly describes what you can do to yourself.  You are a shill.  In addition, the methodology you describe would be illegal and such a "debtor" would have a clear and easy case against you.  My first year law students could handle that one.

Actually, no REAL process server calls you beforehand.  Oh, and that old lie about your credit score going up?  Wrong - the derogatory item may show as paid, but it doesn't come off your credit report for a looong time!  Somehow, we don't believe your fairy tale.

Got a notice on my door about legal docs and to call the attorneys office to reschedule at this number. I put it off for a few days all of a sudden i got a pulled into the hr department at my job and was served there. It was a lawsuit on  a  old credit card i didnt pay for, ended up with a judgement and my paycheck garnished.  I shouldn't have put this off for so long....300 dollar credit line ended up paying 2,100. B.S.!!!!

I received a phone call at my work from a courier service, regarding paperwork that req'd my John Hancock. I did get served, and as I made contact with the firm filing out this complaint, it was a legit debt from my old Chase account that charged off but I never got a Collection call. Looks like this file is with an attorney. So I ended up settling this debt for 30% of what I owed and since then my credit score on Credit Karma has gone up significantly! I dont know why people are so scared to pay their bills. Just ask youself this.. "If I had borrowed money from someone who helped me when no one else would not friends or family, shouldnt I pay this back for next time in the future when I am in another bind?" PROBABLY NOT. Maybe thats why this country is in so much debt.

Received a similar call with a case number and a 24 hour "dead line" allegedly from the "Farley Firm". Upon calling the number (and not providing personal information) it was confirmed that they were a law firm but NOT the Farley Firm. I then terminated the call.

Someone called my sister left a message on her phone, leaving the number 855-394-5499, cause # 175982, she said that we had 24 hours to contact them and that they were with a law firm. I called the number the man said he was with a law firm. I gave him the cause number. He then ask me for the last four digits of my SSN and date of birth. I told him I was not going to do that, he hung up on me. The caller ID on my sister's phone read unknown. She still has the recording.
