Received a phone call from this number about allegations against my name and social security number. Said I needed to call or have my attorney call or bad things would happen to me. Had called my old job also and co worker said that the man was not American and he called her a lying b**ch because she told them I did not work there anymore. I do not know what this is, but they shouldn't be allowed to harass people like that. I have no idea why they would even call me!

You can hope all you want that "they" will stop, but the calls won't. Worse yet, is the fact that the "toll free" numbers are not public records and almost impossible to discover who owns them. Callerid4U and Pacific Telecom actually receive money for any and all calls made. The icing on the cake for them is that someone actually ANSWERS the call: that way they can route that number to spamsters for follow up and likely hustling.

Just think about it for a moment--how many INCOMING toll free calls do you get from someone or something that actually amounts to something? Whatever the original intent of toll free numbers was, phone spamming and caller ID spoofing has changed the dynamics. The only reason to have toll free numbers NOW is for you to make outgoing calls, not receive incoming calls.

Your best bet would be to invest in call blocking program or call blocker equipment, such as Digitone. This way you could block entire area codes, such as 855. If there is a company that you want to call you using their toll free 855 number, then you could enter that particular number as an exception, then go with your life. But if you think "they" are going to stop calling simply because you wrote about it in 800notes.com, then go ahead and wish on a FALLEN star.

I entered in Bass Pro Shops 4 years ago and I still get them.

you should Google the term "sue telemarketers". if you are on the do not call list, you are entitled to compensation. people have been winninng nice amounts in small claims court.

These peopled me.  Glad I didn't answer.  If any of you are going to Bass Pro and you register for anything including their rewards program they sell your information to the Branson merchants and they start calling and harrassing you.  Perhaps we should all direct our anger at Bass Pro Shops for this.

Got a new cell with a new number.  Registered it first thing on the Do Not Call registry.  Lot of good THAT does!  I get calls from this number & MANY others all day every day!  What good is the DNC if they still call anyway????????
