I submitted a formal FCC complaint against this caller (202-827-0717).  The number given in the rude recording (855-505-3180) isn't even a working number.  I suggest that everyone register a complaint with the FCC @ https://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.

Debt Collector
Got an automated message at work from caller ID 202-827-0717, gave me a case # and said to call back regarding a returned item from my bank. The message was for a name I did not recognize. I hope no one gets caught in this trick.

This is what makes me feel like if they did a scam on me and I'm taking this to a lawyer now cause I paid $900 for a loan off last month and never received any confirmation about it or a statement mailed to be saying it has been paid off. First of all this is how it happend I got a phone call about 2 months ago from area code 214 saying they were a law firm and I had to pay $336 by 5pm or they where going to put charges on me and I was going to have warrants. So I go ahead and pay it and as well paid off the loan but never got anything in the mail saying its been paid. Now I have been waiting and call back the number and it says its been disconnected so I now there for call the loan company who I got the loan from to tell me who they handed it off to which now is a whole nother situation cause its not the same place who I paid this too. I talk to who they handed it to but they have no record of it anywhere saying to me we never got it call the loan place back cause they should know.... I call back and they say no call again to the collection agenency we handed it too. So by now I'm pissed cause I'm not getting any help with this period. I go to Walmart where I paid the money gram asking them to give me the info to who the sender was they give me a number so I call and then they say it was sent to this company Bradford jones associates which of course the number don't work so now I'm even more pissed cause all I want to know is whe did the money go to and who do I get in contact with. I want to make sure this did get paid and it was no scam but now it seems to me it might be. Never again will I take the calls seriously and I will the next time ask for there information and who I talked to as well there name too.

I got a call from a 202-706-6190 (at least that was the call back number) and they said my mom owed money and they needed to contact her by the close of business or they would put out a warrent for her and expedite her back to the state she just moved from so she can go to court and jail. They had the name of the bank she used to deal with before she moved, her old phone numbers, and her email address. I couldn't get ahold of her because she was at work so i was going to pay off her $880 debt to make sure she was alright. I started to get suspicious when they wouldn't send me an email or anything confirming who they and the bank they were calling on behalf of were. I wasn't going to give money to a company without knowing they were legit first. They said they would only send me that stuff after I sent the money because it was "sensitive information". They really had me going for a while but once I saw this thread online I realized they were scammers and that I was not going to pay them. I am in the military and I had my legal officer talk to them and he also concluded that they were not legit. Later that day I called my mom and she knew nothing about that debt or the companies they said she owed. Good thing I looked on here and contacted my superiors before sending them that money. The names of the individuals I talked to on the phone were Marcey Stone and Rebecca Lawson (what a coincidence that an employee at a law firm has the last name of Lawson).

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Bradford Jones & Associates. The actual number they called from was 202-618-6938, but they left the number 855-505-3180 with a case number 447068. It is a Scam.

Bradford Jones & Associates. It is a scam. They call with a message that you need to call them and they leave case number. If it is a true debt they will reach you by mail.

IF YOU GET A PHONE CALL FROM SOME HARSH MOUTH SCUM BAG TELLING YOU THEY'RE A COLLECTION AGENT, AND GOING TO HAVE YOU ARRESTED  AND YOUR BELONGINGS TAKEN
AWAY, AND YOU THROWN IN JAIL,       Then you need to contact your local police department about these SCUM BAGS and then pcks any one of hundreds of law firms who SUE FIRMS LIKE THESE,
and YOU GET PAID or their illegal collection tactics.

THEY DID THIS TO ME FOR SOME IDIOT FRAUD CHECK THAT WAS IN ANOTHER STATE, AND
HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME.   And when I explained this to them, they said i was a criminal and
a liar, SO I HAVE NOW GOTTEN AN ATTORNEY, and we're suing the CRAP out of them.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
