You still might be weary of paying it through them. It's a scam and they'll take you're money and. Of actually pay Drexel. You're being scammed and don't even know it.

When I called them, the guy was fine and actually was just simple and to the point which I like...not trying to argue. I asked for written correspondence and he said no problem. I've gotten push back fromother companies. I guess it depends on the rep you get. Just keep call in until you get a good one.

To follow up my previous post, the -6194 number called today for the same person again. The rep who handled the situation claimed the number was removed in one spot in their computer system, but not removed in another spot, so he claimed to have fixed that issue so the phone calls will truly cease. I told him that if it continues, I will be taking further action, as I am on the DNC and they've now been told twice the number/party combo they're trying to reach is invalid. We'll see how far that goes. Like the last time, my optimism isn't the best on this one. I expect the third strike to be soon, but if you don't hear from me again, it was a Christmas miracle and they actually quit calling.

Two numbers, 585-598-6194 and -6192, have been sporadically calling my landline (which is on the DNC registry) and never leave messages. I did research on this very website as to who the company is, and learned they're definitely NOT calling for me.

So... I called them. They're calling for a person that I have never met in my life. Didn't get into details beyond that, because we didn't need to. I immediately advised them I took over my landline in March 2013 and while this may be a past number for the party they want, it isn't a current number for that party, and that I don't know that party. Right then and there, the man on the other line claimed they'd update their records and I would receive no more calls.

If the calls continue, I'll go full steam ahead in my follow-up actions and I'll update here. If I post nothing further, then you know they kept their word. (Somehow, I expect the former, not the latter.)

When I moved to a new city 6 years I changed cell numbers.  The person that use to own this number apparently owed money for going to school.  I have repeatedly told these people that I am not this person nor do I even know them yet the continue to call me about 3 times a year.  Any lawyers work probono want to make an easy buck?

Sorry to say that student loans are a loan that does not go away ever. Its not like your credit card you got when you were 17 and never paid. They stay on your report just like a judgement does. However in reading these post I have never went to school in TX. so I will be reporting them right now to the powers in the phone world. I did this for one company that keep calling Bankcard services... let us reduce your rate... well let me introduce to the feds people. I have had not one more call

I answered the phone when this number called, but apparently the lady on the other end couldn't hear me saying hello. Instead of realizing we had a bad connection, she developed a snarky tone and said something about sending a letter to me and expecting a call back. With that attitude, I will not. She's also apparently from a shady collection agency as per the comments here. I will have my attorney look into them to see if I need to even respond to them or if are they those crooks who take your money and never had the authority to collect on a debt at all. I have two debts that are being handled by other people -- not this Conserve Collections. They probably should not even have my number unless for some reason something changed that I am unaware of. Has anyone found this to be a scam, or are they just requiring snotty, condescending, and insulting manners for all of their, uh, professionals?

I got a call from them today and called them back.  In my case the debt is true I do owe money to Drexel.  They were nice and I did set up a payment plan and the debt wasn't elevated.  I know this doesn't seem to be the case from what everyone is saying but I seriously had no issues.  I do know what it is like dealing with junk debt buyers and scammers I have had my share of  a lot of these calls recently.  I'm not defending them or their actions to others on the phone but just saying my experience wasn't too bad.  Hope you can get them to stop harassing you.  The only reason I'm paying is because i know mine is legit my Dad was in the hospital and died 2 months later so I dropped out and never paid it back.  It isn't DOE it was the school it that turned it over.  Hopefully, this is helpful to anyone else. =)

I'm an accountant and this is a huge scam.  Please report them to the FTC.  They need to be jailed and that can only happen if enough people report them.

Caller would only identify as Conserve; extremely rude, unprofessional, and secretive - if other people are correct about them and this regards student loans, I am currently not in default of my student loans, and they are currently consolidated and in deferment.

They would not say who their "client" was when I asked directly; and when I asked them who gave them their info, they said "this number is associated with this name." When I asked them who associated this name/number, they were evasive, so I knew they were illegitimate.

I suspect it is some kind of scam to extract information and/or illegally collect on student loans (i.e. mine are in deferment and the DOE says I am current with my loans and need to make no payments until January, when I renew my deferment)

They had an old address from about ten years ago in another state, so I knew it was BS.  I told them I could not verify or deny I was the person being inquired about, and that they cease and desist all communications; next time I will record their call and file a small-claims case for fraud and harassment, and put a lien on their business for the value of the airtime they are costing me, and report their butt to the BBB.

Calls from 585-598-6188 - Judy Burtnett.  She is calling my friends asking how to get hold of me.  I am paying my student loan directly to the department of education and have a letter with their logo on it to prove it.  I never gave anyone my friends numbers, but I have 2 friends that are getting calls from them as well.  I'm going to try what leebadfinger111 suggested and see if it works.

Prank Call
They call regularly, several times a week. Sometimes its a robotic voice rambling but today when I answered there were two men having a casual conversation about their shared hatred of women. When I repeatedly said hello and asked who it was they just hung up without saying anything back to me.

Family members have told me that they've also gotten calls from this number asking for me by name and being very rude when my family won't give them any information to work with. The caller refuses to say who they are or why they are calling, just demand that my family give them a working phone number.

I've blocked their number and reported them to the FCC. I will report them every time they call and you should all do the same here http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

This number has been calling me. I have talked to them and they are just now calling me saying I owe them for attending a college back in 2005. I never went to that college. I told them to send me proof and all they did was send me typed stuff. Anyone could do that. I told them I'm not paying cause I didn't even live where the college was. Annoying! 7yrs later and they are just not contacting me over some place I never went

(585)598-6192:

I looked up this number online just to see if they were legit. I went to a college in New Mexico, in which I owed charges on my student account that I had been unable to pay; the college had sent form letters before regarding payment, and if I didn't pay my charges would be handed over to a collection agency. The letters stopped and that's when the collection agency at this number called me. Everything seemed like it was in order with them, they were very polite, the charges were correct, and they asked for me, first and last name. But why would my charges from a New Mexico school be handed over to a collection agency in New York? That's what I don't understand.

7 years is for all delinquent debts (except Ch 7 bankruptcy).  This only applies to your credit report.  They can persue you for the debt for as long as they like but can not report it on your credit report after 7 years.
