This call is related to a fundraising call I received on 16 January 2014 from "BCFA" ("Breast Cancer Foundation of America"). I reported the original call on 800Notes for phone number (609) 318-6033 here:
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-609-318-6033#p665089373023792348
When I asked the original solicitor how much of any donation I might make actually goes to the cancer charity, the interviewer balked, said she had trouble hearing me, and promised that a supervisor would call me back.
Eight days later, a supervisor did call back [using phone number (855) 552-8455, look this number up on 800Notes] and asked for my wife by first initial and last name. I asked about the percentage of donations that actually go to the Breast Cancer Foundation and the supervisor repeated exactly what the original phone call interviewer said, 5% goes to the charity and 95% is retained by the professional fundraiser for administrative costs.
I also asked if my donation was tax deductible, and he replied "I don't know."
I told him that the IRS certainly wouldn't consider a donation with only 5% going to the charity as being a "charitable contribution" and therefore, not tax deductible. This "charity" has not provided the basic information requested by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) so it remains unclassified by the BBB. Very suspicious, indeed.
He asked if he could help me with anything else and I asked "can you put me on your Do Not Call list" and he replied, "Yes, we'd be glad to do that for you."
What a scam!

Called here tonight asking for someone by the name of Lon. I asked "who?" and she said "can I speak to the man of the house?" I told her we're on the do not call list and to take us off their calling list. She then Identified that she was supposedly from breast cancer awareness fund. I repeated to take us off the calling list and she stated it'll take 72 hours and I said I don't care just do it!!

Called on my home phone. I did not answer and they did not leave a message.
| DKL 2014-01-04 23:11:32 Telemarketer |
Identified themselves as "Breast Cancer Financial", asking for the "lady of the house".
Asked who they thought they were talking to.
Caller then said something about putting me on a pink ribbon thing.
Said I don't talk on the phone to people I don't know and hung up.
800 Reverse TN Lookup said this was a land line.
Called the number back, answering machine said office hours Mon-Thu 9:30am-6 -- yet they called me around noon on Sat.
My TNs are all on DoNotCall Registry, and have been for years.

I just receved call from this company- before 9am- they said they were a professional fundraising organization. I asked who distributed the funds that that the collect- she wanted to direct me to another dept- after she offered to send me a pldg kit for Breast Cancer patients who cannot afford teatment or other supplies . I asked how much of each dollar was kept by her employer to cover costs- attainin lists, making calls, hiring soliticiters, etc.. I can't believe she answered me- 5% goes to someonw with breast Cancer- or so she claims.
I told her she should be ashamed of herself and her employer.
And I asked to removed from her call list.
Breast CAncer Financial Fund- is on the list of worst fundraising comp- meaning that very little $ or supplies are used for actual patient care/use. In my opinion THEY ARE GREEDY SOBs preying on your sympathies, and good naturednedd- and they only want credit card donation.

The idiots keep calling and hanging up - on my cell phone! They need to stop. I am in the "do not call" registry but that does not seem to make any difference to these aggressive tele marketeer sub-humans.

Received a call from this # but I don't answer my home phone any more due to junk calls but I now have Comcast service that allows:
- Blocking all without caller ID
- Forwarding all calls to a given #
- Forwarding up to 12 individual #s to one #
- Blocking up to 12 individual #s
I just started a new approach, forwarding all calls (including those without caller ID) to firms that litter my porch with flyers. Since I have official decals displayed that prohibit this, all of these firms are in violation. My current target is Arce Garage Doors & Construction, a firm that pasted their flyer to my garage. I'd appreciate others forwarding junk calls to them @ 773-953-7318. This type of action should waste time & effort for both guilty parties.

We've had an INSANE amount of telemarketer calls from all over the freaking country since we bought a bundle (3 in one) service from a cable company. They target land lines (the house phone). I have been getting calls for a couple of years now. The Do Not Call Registry is a waste of time. In fact it appears they are using the list to target people. I get at least 3 such calls every day with different numbers from all over the U.S. I no longer answer the phone without checking the ID caller. It saves a lot of wear and tear on my nerves?.and waste of my time answering a call from one of these scam artist / crooks / pests. They sometimes say they are raising funds for breast cancer. They want a donation?.using your credit card or a debit?..They are crooks looking to get your information. Other times they are a ?Credit Card Service? hawking credit cards and asking how many credit cards you have and trying to talk you into a consolidation?.again just trying to gain access to your credit information.
Congress has all but crippled the Do Not Call system. They have limited powers and fewer workers. The best option is purchasing a $50-75 blocking device that will block every call you designate OR block everything except for numbers you say to pass. It is a shame that the telephone, once a Godsend in my parents' generation, is now a monster in mine. The same can be said about Internet electronic messaging, FaceBook, MySpace, LinkEd, email and USPS junk mail. To protect your privacy, you practically have to become a hermit.

Received call in the late afternoon, today. This call represents the fourth time I have heard the same introduction ?.. "Hello, is ------ there?" I asked "Who is calling" and the breast cancer subject is announced. Again I simply stated that I do not want any more calls, I was not interested in their message. There will be another call in the future. Not a big deal. Beware of potential scam by this caller.

Just rec'd call from this number at 7:51pm EST. Didn't answer, no msg. left. I like all comments am sick & tired of these calls. All I have come up with is like someone mentioned turn phone off. I have new Panasonic talking caller ID & it tells me the number & who calling. This one was "Out of Area". When I see or hear this info I just don't answer. Annoying having phone ring all the time but I don't answer. DO NOT CALL LIST IS WORTHLESS LIKE A LOT OF OUR OTHER GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP US COMMON FOLK.

I called a number that left an urgent message to call them. the number is 424-245-8234 and they said they locate people so they can be served with legal papers like a law suit. She then to me to call this number here. 855-552-9932 and they would tell me what to do. I typed in this number on whocallsme and this is what I came to, this page that says they are telemarketers.
I do know the 424 number is in beverly Hills, CA.
I am not going to call this number so they can record my cell phone number in their data banks for telemarketing

Calls after 8:30 pm several times over the last two weeks. Caller purports to seek donations for a non-recognizable breast cancer fund raiser. Then becomes quite abusive if I decline and yells and called me a beaach. I have blocked the number. I believe they are scamming to get cc numbers.

Its doubtful when everyone else in America is receiving the same calls.

I have terminal cancer; I suppose they got my number from something associated with that. I also have the ability to block calls on my Panasonic portable phone. What a joy.

Just received another call from this number. I called the number back and received a recording stating...thank you for calling the breast cancer fund raising. The reason we called you today was to ask for a donation ....blah blah. Then said if you want to be removed from our call list push 1. Your number has been removed but may take up to 30 days to activate. That will remain to be seen! So sick of these calls.
