This number (631-755-8038, Star LLC name of the phone company not the vendor calling) calls me everyday around 2:31 pm PST and has for several months now. I have no idea what company it is, they will not leave a company name just a case number and call back of the "toll free" number, indicating this is either from a foreign country or an idiot. No one has to pay for long distance anymore with cell phones and VoIP phones. I tried to call back from the phone (my land line) they keep calling and was given the recorded instruction to unblock my number. I did, since it isn't listed to my actual name and still kept getting the unblock message. Ironically, my land line is listed under a fake name, I never use it on any information so whomever is calling is trying to get information illegally, plus I have had this number for over 20 years and it has NEVER been listed as I am the only one that has ever had this number (I work for a local phone company). I wish they would call when I am home, I would love to answer and "make their day".....LMAO!!!

Never let bullies on the phone confuse extortion with debt collection. Honest debt collectors do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "mediators", or "prelitigation specialists", only sweaty criminals with a script full of bullying remarks. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

I answered their call once and they would give me no information as to what I owe and to whom I owe it.  In return I gave them no information.  This was over a year ago and to this day I receive at least 3 calls a day from these people with an "attempt to collect a debt".  They have added to my daily struggle with depression and anxiety that hinder my ability to get my "sh**" together, go back to school, get a job and then pay my debts to this financially dysfunctional country I have to call "home".
So much for feeling safe!

OMG I FEEL SO DUMB!! I got a voicemail from 631-755-8038 and I had gotten calls from several strange phone numbers in the last 36 hours that I ignored it (I don't really know why I was getting those calls. It was highly unusual but when I do get those type of calls I generally ignore them). When I checked it the message was for  husband's uncle whom we have no contact. I have never met him and we've been married for almost 9 years. I just went ahead and called the number she gave on the message, assuming it was a debt collection agency and wondering how in the hell she got my number in association with him. The thing is, he's pretty shady and quite a few people in the family are looking for him and my husband was concerned he might have stolen his identity. So when I called I wanted to make sure it wasn't under his social security number and I knew if it was legit they would never give me a ssn so u gave them the last 4 of my husband's social and she said that wasn't what they had for him! Stooooopid!!!!! I knew better and I still did it anyway. I was just so concerned and I thought it was real!!!

Abbey Lewis got completely rude with me over a debt i owe. She wanted me to pay by debit or credit card. When i told her i have none and could pay by money order she started saying that wasnt a secure form of payment. She said i started screaming at her and all i did was raise my voice to talk over her cause she would not stop talking. I hung up on her and asked to talk to a manager or someone else and she refused and said i was the only person i could talk to. Abby lewis is psycho just plain rude and very unproffessional. She said ill go to court and owe $3000 and theyll garnish my wages well see

I recieved a phone call from another number (631)-755-8038 that redirected me a couple of times and i ended up calling the number involved in this post. After searching the BBB website, searching google, and talking to a few lawyers out of CA, i have determined that this is a 100% Scam. Scary part is, they were calling me to collect a debt that is REAL, i do owe the company they were referring to money, and i  have not paid the debt off yet, however this "Henry Stark and Associates" is a scam operation.  Names include Samantha, Abby, and James Martin.

As Elspeth said earlier "Any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that you owe a debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt, are owed NOTHING, per the FDCPA." I confirmed thru the FDCPA that this is indeed a scam. Call them back.. yell and scream at these despicable creatures that try to scam us out of our money, if it suits you... just make sure you do not give them any information. Not even your e-mail (as they can make money from selling it) Also, do not open any e-mails from them as they are likely to contain malicious software that could enable them to steal your identity.

Best of Luck to you and Don't let these creeps ruin your day.

I currently live in FL, but my mom and even my uncle (up in Maine) were getting calls from a certain Henry Stark and Associates saying i have an urgent legal matter and to call TODAY!!! My mom is now panicking and I have no clue what is going on.  THANK GOD FOR THIS SITE!!! as I got the message from my mom yesterday night (Friday!!!) and it was too late to get in touch with these people, so if I didn't see all your informative posts I would have had a terrible weekend of just anxiety and worrying. I will be taking y'all's advice and request in writing proof of whatever they claim.  The number on my caller ID (I just verified that it matches exactly what all of you described).  I am definitely feeling better (thank you all)!! and I will go ahead and report this number as well.  Now I have to get my mother's blood pressure down as I'm sure she's even more upset than I am/was.

I got a call from my mom, and she was giving me info from a phone call that she received from Henry Stark and Associates with a case number and of course there phone number of 855-599-2836. They told her that they were serving me with paper's to take me to court, and that if I were to call them before 10 tomorrow that they would offer me a settlement amount and then I wouldn't have to go to court.  Really freaked me out, because I have no clue as to what this was all about, so I went on case net and looked up my name and there is nothing on there at all about any pending or up coming court issues.  So I went to my favorite place "Google" and looked up the number and found this place. Thank God for places like this... I think I will the do the same as all of you and report this first thing in the morning.

Call stating some case number from Star Processing. Transferred around several times. Then told I was being sued by Henry Stark & Associates for alleged monies owed to Verizon on a 212 number from 10 yrs ago that I don't recognize at all and is not on my credit report. I'm surprised that a podiatrist is so invested in my financial welfare? I wasn't even living in the USA at that time! If I didn't pay Abbey Lewis 855.599.2839 ext. 302 then there would be hell to pay.  She would not tell me what this was regarding, they had no information other than a random email, but they knew I owed? How am I being sued but I, rather my lawyer, is not allowed to speak to or correspond with the 'attorney' suing me? Total scam. I'm reporting them and they will hear from my lawyer.

The mother of my ex-daughter-in-law received a call from United Abstract on behalf of Henry Stark Associates. They asked her if she knew me (using my last name from my first marriage which I haven't had for over 15 yrs) regarding a "pre-legal" case from Henry Stark Associates.  They even gave her a "case number" and told her to have  me call them. They told her they would be mailing documents to my county. I will be calling the Attorney General's office tomorrow and reporting them.  I will also take the earlier suggestions and file a complaint with my local police dept.

When I have these idiots on the line I like to find out what company they say they are. Then I google them and see if they are even real or not. Its amazing how many so called law firms are not real. Of course I tell them that they are scamming me and that I will file a nice lawsuit against them. Lol oh how they hate being called out on their own game. I don't put up with it at all.

Any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that you owe a debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt, are owed NOTHING, per the FDCPA.  Please be sure to record all calls Ms Gomez makes, since you should know you can file your own lawsuit against her "company" for multiple violations of the FDCPA.  Also report the calls to the FTC, the Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.

Get a call from a Star Processing, then tells me to hold & connects me w/a collection agency called Henry Stark & Associates. A Melinda Gomez starts threatening me that if I don't settle a debt of over X amount of dollars, the acct. will be sent to court to garnish my wages if I don't settle. When I tried to obtain info on what account they were referring to, Ms. Gomez continued to say we can work with you, but these are the options, & take it or leave it; that I got myself in this debt & I have to pay. When I mentioned I manage a law firm & they cannot be harassing anyone, nor threaten me, let alone, tell me that if I don't pay, they will garnish my wages. Ms. Gomez put me on hold, saying she had to speak w/Settlement Dept, comes back w/some more numbers & was trying to get me to provide chkg acct. info or credit card info. It smells like a hoax.

My sister-in-law in VA got a call from these people regarding a Mastercard credit card that I was supposed to be delinquent on payment.  They said they were going to court tomorrow and then it would be too late.  I do not and have never had a Mastercard.  I had to take bankrupcy several years back and don't even have a credit score high enough to get any credit.  I live in NC not VA.  I am also on social security disability.  These people say they represent Henry Stark & Associates.  When I googled them Henry Stark & Associates is a podiatrist in Fla.  When I googled their phone number it brought me to this website.  This has got to be a scam so please don't give them any of your personal information.

They say they are Henry Stark and Associates. This was basically all the information I received about them in this call other than the phone number. (I did not and have no plan to call the number myself). I received a call from them a few months ago where I received even less information about them.

They say they are trying to collect a debt for a credit card that I never had, and which was used in a state I've never been too.

In the earlier call they had quite a bit of information about me that was close to being correct (I did not correct their mistakes). I don't know if this is a scam or if I am a victim of identity theft and someone got a card in my name.

If they are legitimate I will settle this through the courts. I am going to file a report on this call with my local police (and through them the FBI) as I did the earlier call, as this will provide a record in case it is a scam, and provide me some protection.
