I have been told that If you answer the phone ,hit the pound button right away about six or seven times and then hang up. It will confuse the system so they never know when to call.Do it once or twice and the calls should stop.

have answered call 2x. Person was foreign possibly from India, Africa - asked for Miss Ruth so knew my name. Told that I was on do not call list.did not appear to understand english. Asked the name of the company but neither would tell me. Calls continue

interesting msg below...saying the reason for the hangups is they are testing to see when we are home and answer the phone....
the hang ups are one reason why i don't even bother to pick up!
BUT, I did call the number back -american lung association- and you do get a recording explaining what the american lung association does...but you quickly get to the prompt to enter your number to have it removed from their call list. the recording does say federal law allows them 30 days to remove it...but they will try to have it removed within the "next couple of days"...
this is the first time i have tried this...always think i will get a live high pressure sales rep...
but i think i will try again...on one of the many unavailable or unknown numbers
as far as the do not call list....i was told by one telephone sales rep that even though we are on the do not call list...they call us because we are a member of a "partner" of theirs. That means if you are a member of a frequent flyer program, or something like Hilton Honors program or even AARB, AAA, etc...the small print ...you have agreed to recieve these calls/mailings!

Leaving this message on each of the numbers that have been calling...
This number just called at 9 am and woke me up (2nd shifter). I don't answer these calls but keep track. 855.632.3125, 3126,3124,3123, and 3121 have now called me six days out of the last seven. If the ALA had sent a letter in the mail I "might" have donated but I will NEVER give them a cent now due to their harrassment phone calls! Just why do non profits and political calls get a free pass on the DO NOT CALL list??

Called Saturday, March 17 @ 4:10 p.m. TOLL FREE CALL on caller ID. Barely got through the 3rd ring before it stopped, a sign it's an automated call. If I get frequent calls from a number like this, I block it.

American Lung Association says that they aren't asking YOU for any money, but wants you to send out mailers (which they provide) to all the neighbors on your street for donations. Instead of wasting time to call people, they could have send the mailers out themselves!

Called this number back. American Lung assoc. If you stay on the line long enough you can get to a remove my number option. I can't belive these idiots would call and as soon as you answer they hang up on you! You really have to have no brains at all to donate to these people! Very annoying!

The number is the American Lung Association. Spread the word to stop giving money to the American Lung Association. They are paying for robo calls every night and they are immoral and unethica.
