How do you block these types of messages?

I got a text message asking me to call this number, too. They claim to be associated with major credit card companies that have entered you into a "promotion" from which you've been awarded a free cruise. All you need to do is provide a credit card # to cover the unavoidable $59/person tax, then your all-inclusive cruise is all yours.
What a shameless, pathetic scam. I really feel badly for anyone who's taken in by this.

I just recieved the same text but I never entered any contest for a cruise. Nothing in this world is free so I'm ignoring it.

I got a text 2. I'm guessing its a Bahamas cruise that has a lot of hidden charges or time share pitch. Did u guys send a text to enter a contest of some sort? I did then shortly after that is when I was text by them.
