Got a call from them. Claims to be RBC identity theft protection.
Other numbers they called me from:
866-684-6396
866-457-0436
The legit RBC should put a stop to this.

I have also been receiving a lot of calls from this number and whe n I finally answered it, I somehow ended up accepting the 30 day trial. However, I did call RBC to confirm if it is a company contracted by RBC Visa and they did confirm that it is legitimate. If you do not want any calls from them, just answer them and deny the offer and tell them to never call back.

Someone on behalf of RBC. Trying to sell protection against identity theft. As soon as I told them I had it from RBC already they said thank you goodbye. Is this legit? So far the legit calls from RBC the person still tried to persuade me that this new product is bigger and better than what I might have, this time it seemed way too easy to get rid of them. No way I would give my info over the phone - if I'd want something from RBC I'd call them or make an appt. Fraud call about identity theft that could actually steal your identity perhaps?

They are NOT legitimately calling for RBC. I just got off the phone with RBC and spoke with 'Dominic" in security, and he said that this was not a legitimate call. He advised me to get a new visa number, etc, asap.

I get 5 to 6 calls a day!! from this number. who are they
megger 2012-06-21 16:36:28 Unknown
This is not a telemarketer - They are trying to collect personal identification information. They claim to be RBC offering a free 30 day trial of a card protector insurance and ask you to confirm the address that they already have - then ask you to add an answer to a personal security question. In my case they asked me to use place of birth.
Tell them that if they are selling a legit product, they can set up an appointment for you to come in person to the branch.
megger 2012-06-21 16:26:34 Unknown
see my reply to annoyed's post
megger 2012-06-21 16:25:34 Unknown
CLAIMING to be RBC. This is not a legitimate product they're selling. They will keep calling to find out your home-away schedule. It is actually best to answer, don't give them any personal info, tell them if they want to sell you the insurance, they will have to set up an appointment for you at your branch (don't tell them this either though - RBC would have your home branch on file)
I just reported this # to the Canadian Anti Fraud Center do the same if they're calling you again. 1-888-495-8501

Thank you SO much for this! My husband answered the millionth call finally and it said it was RBC Visa but every other time they've called since when I answer to tell them to bug off there's no one there? I will get in touch with RBC Visa tomorrow. Pure harassment.

At minimum, for the past two weeks, this number calls my landline three times a day, five days a week. They never leave msg. Called back and I received a recorded msg stating it is 'BRI telemarketing'. I've called blocked this number today along with 289-428-1003. Beyond annoyed!!

Ray 2012-05-11 18:11:52 Telemarketer
Getting calls from this number at least twice a day for the last two weeks. A company calling itself "BRI Telemarketing". Strange, because I can't find a web site belonging to them. Very shady as with most of these disgusting companies.
Willy 2012-05-10 18:50:26 Telemarketer
BRI is a legitimate telemarketing company contracted by RBC Visa to up sell you on insurance, fraud protection etc. Your bank gave them your telephone number. Answer the phone and tell them not to call you. If you do not answer they will autodial your number two or three times a day for ever and ever......
Then call VISA and complain.
Then call your bank and complain.
The do not call list only applies to businesses you do not have a relationship with.
If you have a VISA card they will call you until you direct them otherwise. Threaten to cancel your card.
Jill 2012-05-09 16:20:36 Telemarketer
I recevied many calls and never picked up. Finally deceived to call back and found out that it's a Telemarketing company called BRI.
