I received the same call from a guy called Tim Reed saying that he was going to come to my home or job and that I need to sign some legal papers. Sounds like a scam to me! And he said my last name all wrong. People need to get a life.

I also received a phone call from a Tim Reed, calling for my father.  He said that he was calling for a claim department and that he would be showing up at my dad's place of employment and home tomorrow between 12 and 5, because he needs to sign documents.  He said to call the 855 # with any questions.  My voicemail gives my name and not my fathers and it has my voice, which is female.  So that guy had no business leaving a personal message to my father on someone elses voicemail.  That is a $2000 fine, if it is legit.  Plus, Tim Reed is an actor, Derick Morgan is a pop singer/actor on a tv show.  The guy is using fake names and giving the same lines to everyone and they keep calling peoples kids, instead of their actual phone number.

my son got a call from this number and said the same bs that I needed to sign legal papers for a debt I had in 2000. and that i was wanted for theft of good and attempt to defraud. I called them back and told them that I never had a first bank credit card in 2000 nor did I ever have one. then I remembered they tried this bs on me about 6 years ago and that they were scamming people. she said that was impossible and that she would try and get this figured out and call me back at 4 p.m. that call never came so I called back to talk to her by name and was told no one by that name worked at the arbitration dept. there she hung up on me so I blew their phone up for an hour just cause i was annoyed at this attempt... beware is all I can say.......

I received a call on my cell phone that came up as unknown so I did not answer BUT the number they left to please call the filing party at 855-712-4379. The caller left a message saying his name was Derick Morgan, and he was a licensed courier and was going to be delivering some legal documents and gave the 855 number to call to resolve and get a "Stop Notice Immediately" - A red flag popped immediately with me because they said in the beginning of the call and the end that this call was for my father. My cell is not associated to him in anyway. The thing that makes me uneasy is that they say they'll be coming between 12 and 5pm on Monday to his work or our home! The eerie part was he said "I WILL see you on Monday" You can guarantee if any unknown person comes to my house between 12 and 5 on Monday I will be calling the police! This is ridiculous... it is too f&^%ing easy for criminals to get your information these days!

"Linda Grant" was the woman's name, but I got a call for my mom and it was the same scripting you had except for the file #. My mom has not been employed for about 9 years so that along with the wrong name show's it's either very outdated crap, or complete crap.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

A Mrs Evans called stating that she has some legal documents that she's been  trying to get out to me for a couple of days that needs my signature. She hasn't been able to reach me at my home or my place of employment.  she's giving me a courtesy call to let me know she'll be out my way again tomorrow, please make myself available between 12pm and 5p. she's assuming i'll be at work around that time so she'll stop there first.  If i have any questions regarding this call please call the filing party at 855-712-4379, my file # is J_ _ _.  If by chance I resolve this matter with that office make sure they send her a STOP NOTICE immediately.

She states my first & last name with you've been notified.

She's never come to my job. I would have known.

This is an identity thief scam. Recently my wife fell for a fake paypal email and sent them her SS. They are posing as fake bill collectors and try and intimidate you into "settling" their law suit for a past debt. We've been monitoring her credit and we have a flawless record, so it was easy for us to figure what's going on. Remember kids,subpoenas aren't served over the phone.

Got a call from this number that I was being sued for an unpaid debt from 1994 for a chase credit card.  I have never owned a chase credit card.  But I am in the process of buying a house and did not want to jeopardize my credit.  I made a quick down payment without doing any research.  They had all my information on file.  They emailed me confirmation of a partial pay, but it was not on letter head.  Who is the owner of this phone number. I think I am a victim in a scam
