Hi Barb,
If any one calls you and says there are problems in the computer which is a cold calling and it certainly is a scammer no exceptions.
One good to know thing :-
"If you want to check with whom the number is registered you can simply put it in google and check it.

How suspicious!  The original poster didn't give a company "name" - only the number - and yet, here you are, saying it was someone using your name but not affilated with you.  Per Microsoft - they and their partners do not cold call people - they also do not monitor computers for viruses, etc.

Folks - NEVER give remote access/control of your computer to someone who calls you out of the blue.  It's always a scammer - no exceptions!

Yeah - you're glad the person didn't give the OTHER scammers access because you want your chance at scamming him.
Good luck with that.

Dialtoresolve supposedly provides computer templates and remote support, and has a toll-free "855" phone number
That domain was registered less than a year ago, through a reseller company called "crazydomains".  You seem not to believe your company will last long, since the registration duration was only one year.
Your webpage indicates your location is in the UK.  Dialtoresolve's country of registration is India, not the USA or the UK.

The complaints in this thread indicate somebody with a heavy Indian accent is calling people and telling them they have computer problems, and the company will "fix" the problem.  Although the 855 numbers are different, the situation seems suspiciously similar... supposedly REMOTE support to fix "problems".

Hi Tony,
I appreciate the feedback and letting us know that someone is doing this and Scamming people using our name.
However i would like to tell you that the phone number mentioned is not our phone number and our tech team worked on this and figured out that the number belongs to " http://affordabletechsupport.us/index.html " which has no collaboration with us.
So definitely this was the scam and i am glad that you are safe and didn't gave them the access.

Told me he was calling from "Dial to Resolve", a 3rd party contractor of Microsoft to talk to me about Windows Update on my PC

I told him I work in technology, and know better

I told him I am on the Do Not Call list and it was illegal for him to be calling me

Scam, Scam, total Scam

Telemarketer
Somebody with a very heavy accent did not identify himself or the company he represented but started to tell me that I had a problem with my PC and they were able to help me fix the problem. After asking which company he worked for, he did not reply and kept talking. He insisted I let him check out my PC to fix it. Obviously a scammer trying to gain access to my PC. Told him what he could do with himself and where he could go and hung up. This is the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks I have had this offer
"to help me".
