I just received the same call at work from the same woman claiming to be Michelle Keller. I was at lunch when she called and she just left the message on my work phone. We have 30 different extensions. My point is, anyone could get the message. I started laughing when I read your message because I was about to call them to see who they were and what she wanted. She left the full message on the machine. How professional is that? They are also call from a 713-766-4304 number and asking me to call 855-477-9474. They are so busted.....Thanks for the heads up! This person has scam written all over it.

Received a call yesterday at my work and cell from a Carol Richards with Civil Litigation Services  - 855-738-3971 her state license 650CRW she will personally serve me legal papers. To be home between 2 - 4pm if I am not there she will go to my work and I need my HR person and 2 forms of identification. I have received annoying calls like this for the past 3 weeks. Interesting a guy by the name of Nicholas Carter with the same phone number but with LaSalle Group said the same thing last week serving papers and the week before a Paul Murray-SDS courier yes same thing..........all there numbers are like a digit off - these scammers won't give up. So annoying I filed a report to the FTC will anything get actually done. I think what I need to do is answer phone and do exactly the same thing from "Annoyed" above I will give them the address to the police department maybe they will stop calling at that point. Any recommendations..........

I got the same call claimed to be from Civil Litigation Co. Are serving papers tomorrow so I asked them to serve at different address. I gave them the address they asked if it was a new home address I said no it's the sheriff's office. She said they won't serve there. Wouldn't a legitimate process server serve papers anywhere? She put me on hold to look up my case and never came back.

I Called "LRB Firm" Back Numerous Times To Try To Get A Physical Address For Their Office (& To Get Under Their Skin). Every time I Called They Would Either Place Me On Hold & Transfer Me To The Voice Mail Of A "Michelle Tillar", Or Straight Hang Up On Me. When I Asked Why They Couldn't Just Give Me The Street Address, They Now Said They Were In Tennessee & Didn't Have The Niagara Falls Address Because They Had 7 Offices "All Over The United States". When I Said, "Well If I'm Calling Tennessee Then Hows Come When I Called This Very Same Number Earlier, I Was Told You Were In Niagara Falls NY?" Then They Were Like, "Well Your Call Gets Automatically Routed To Different Offices". Then I Was Like, Then How Come I Keep Getting The Same People On The Phone If Every Call Goes To Different Locations?" The More Questions I Asked The More Pissed Off They Got LoL. Then On One Call, I Got Connected To The "Legal Department" & She Asked Me If I Was A Terrorist Since I Was So Determined To Get An Actual Address LMFAO.

The Best Way To Determine Whether Or Not You Are Dealing With A Scam Is To Start Hammering The Caller With Questions: Ask For Their Location, Dates, Names, Original Creditor Info, All That Stuff. Then Tell Them That Your Records Show That All Your Outstanding Debts Are Paid In Full & You Would Like To Send Them Certified Copies Of Your Bank Records & Statements To Prove It. Scammers Will Immediately Start Giving You The Runaround About Giving Out Their Physical Address & Start Insisting That You To Fax Or Email The Paperwork, But Be Like Umm HELL NO I Insist On Sending These Sensitive Documents Certified To An Actual Human Being.....That's Usually The Point Where They Hang Up On You.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Received Calls & Messages On My Android & Landline From 855-738-3971. Gentleman Said That I Would Be Receiving Legal Documents Tomorrow Between 2pm & 4pm, Courier Name Nikki Or Mickey Ward I Believe. When I Call The Number Back, I Reach A Michelle Tillar At "LRB Firm". When I Asked Why They Called They Said I Defrauded Some Payday Loan Company Back In April Of 2009 & I Owe Like $600 Dollars. They Had My SSN & My Old Checking Account Number Because They Probably Buy This Info From Other Companies That You Did Business With In The Past, Then Try To Scare You Into Paying Off Something From 4-5-6 Years Ago That You Hopefully Won't Remember Nor Be Able To Research. Once I Started Asking Too Many Questions & Challenging She Was Ready To Hang Up On Me. I Kept Calling Back Trying To Get Their Mailing Address & They Would Only Say They Were In Niagara Falls NY & That They Only Accept Faxes & E-Mails LMAO. I Was Like Really? You Are A Company That Doesn't Receive Any Physical Mail, Fed Ex, UPS? Then They Would Place Me On Hold Until It Transferred Me To Voice Mail. I Did Some Research & There Is A Lasalle Recovery Bureau In Niagara Falls, So These Scammers Are Starting To Use Actual Existing Firms Since They Realize That You Can Just Google Them. But They Won't Give You A Street Address Cuz They Know They Would Be Busted At That Point.

this is the second time in 2 months that I received a call from this number with automated info that a courier would be delivering court papers to my home and/or work.
What a scam! No one ever showed up and when I called the number and asked for their business license the lady (Kelly) immediately put me on hold and then disconnected.
The second time I called back it went to a voicemail for a michelle keller. This scam is getting annoying

Telemarketer
Known Numbers: 855-477-9474, 866-755-0452, 855-768-3971
Received a call from this number from "Michelle Keller" with "LaSalle Recovery". Like similar comments, received a call telling me that a process server was coming to my house tomorrow. Called Michelle and asked her for some information about the debt that they are supposedly collecting. She gave me the name of a company that I did business with in the past, and offered an alleged loan date. I ended the call and called the company she said I owe - both a brick-and-mortar store, as well as their corporate collections department. Confirmed that I am 100% paid in full with that company and that I have in fact never been sent to collections by them at all. The company also confirmed that "we don't even offer loans in that amount", and "we don't sue people", so no process server should ever be involved. Called Michelle back and left a message (strange that now she won't answer the call), told her the information, that this is an invalid debt. Asked her to call back right away to resolve.

Side note: the corporate collections department of the company I "have a debt with" mentioned that I did the right thing and to NEVER OFFER THIS TYPE OF CALLER PERSONAL INFORMATION. Mentioned that this is most likely a scam.

It IS a scam! The caller is a fraud. Process servers do NOT call ahead of time. EVER!
The joker is using a very old, very stale intimidation tactic. Tell the scum-bag to put his claim in writing and mail it to you. NOT e-mail or fax. As per federal regulations under the FDCPA. When he refuses or starts shucking & jiving...case closed. He's a FRAUD!
Live Well.

Caller did not ask for a person but indicated he had legal papers to deliver via same day courier services. Asked for us to be home at a certain time and indicated that if not home, would come to place of business to deliver but must have supervisor present to sign for delivery. Sounds like a scam. Left number 866-755-9648 to call and verify. No answer.
