Got a call early this morning from this line 855-739-5300
No detailed mssg, and of course can't get an answer back dialing the #.
The mssg did say 'debt collector', however by the ID everyone's provided I see here, and if it's in fact a BofA caller,  I have never had a BofA account so I have no intention of pursuing any other info.
Just going to block the number.

Just got a call from this number, and had a BofA account *years* ago that was closed in good standing.  No reason I should be getting this call.  However, I have received calls from other numbers in the past claiming that my account with BofA was "in arrears" and that I owed them money on my closed account.  I have checked with BofA, and this simply isn't true - BofA advised me that I did the right thing in calling them to check on this, because many people are being scammed by these bottom-feeders who con people into believing they owe money, when they don't.   If you have (or had) a BofA account, I strongly advise you to do the same - check the validity of the "debt" the caller is claiming you owe.  If you demand a validation statement from ANY collection agency or creditor, they HAVE to provide it by law.

It's not legit - Sharon, you just got fooled. I hope you didn't provide them any person information.

I started a new job and now get daily notifications in Outlook, at work, that I've missed a call.  My desk phone never rings.  The only thing I get is the e-mail notification of the missed call.  Usually, it's once a day.  It ranges in time.  Rarely on Tuesdays, for some reason.

I saw on another site that this number belongs to a collection agency hired by Bank of America.  Other sites have quite angry comments about being harassed with calls, calling back and getting nowhere, callers hanging up if they answer, etc.  Some of the posts say the calls are "legit" in that they did in fact have a BoA account and were late 2-3 days for a payment.  They were beside themselves over why BoA would start up the harassment so quickly.

I've come to believe the call center employees are probably paid for placing the calls regardless on if they actually make contact, which would explain why they hang up.  If they bother to talk to you, it takes up their time - time they'd rather spend making more calls bugging people.

I've never had a BoA card - and don't plan to.  I assume that either they got my number by accident, or whoever had the number before may have had a card.  Since my phone never rings, it's no skin off my back.

Some of you who have been harassed on cell or at night may want to consider contacting BoA and letting them know you don't appreciate it...

get calls from this number day and night they leave no message and when i try calling this number back it is a quick busy tone.  how do i get this off my phones (also my cell phone)?

Calls a few times a week looking for somebody I have never heard of. I have asked them at least 4 times to stop calling but they call anyway.

Answered and caller hung up immediately.

nobody on the other end of the line, but they keep calling and then hanging up after I answer.
