Don't send them any money.  Report them to the FTC.  My website has details on how to do this.  I set it up when they started harassing my family.  stopnandg.blogspot.com

These people are scammers.  They get your information and scam you out of money.  If you owe payday loans like I do they somehow find out and start calling and harrassing you.  Scaring you into giving them money.  I was scammed so bad.  All you have to do is tell them you are turning their number and name over to the Attorney General, the police department and your attorney.  You can also tell them to stop calling you and your family members or you were going to press charges.  They have to stop calling you at that point.

I got a call from this number asking for my brother, they also gave my name as being associated with his case. They did not ask for any payments, or information and I did not offer any. They did tell me that I will receive paperwork in the mail regarding the case. I him I would have my lawyer look at it before sending anything back. he was polite and told me to have a nice day.

Is this a legal company, 855 7462499, is there really a Mr. Roger Adams? Can he file a 1099c to the IRS to stop my income taxes? I'm in the State of Alabama, yes I took out a payday load and if I could pay them I would have by now. Can I just send them something every month to stop the harrasment calls? This is such a stressful situation! If anyone can tell me what to do I would really appreciate it.

This company called me. When answering it was an automated call and said to press ?1? to speak with a rep. Of course I pressed ?1? and spoke with a man, didn?t get his name, he was a rude bill collector. He read out my ss# and name first? then asked if I was that person. I had been in financial trouble a few years ago but worked hard and paid off my debt. My first thought was, did I miss a bill or did the company not post paid so I said yes (to clear any outstanding bills I have with this company up).  Once he verified I was the person he was looking for he became more rude and went on and on how I was going to jail and fined and he had papers to serve me.  As he was talking I said ?I don?t mean to cut you off sir but I?m going to need something in writing that includes the company I owe and the account number I had with that company? He did not like that - he became upset and kept telling me I was going to jail. I wasn?t talking- I was just listening to him go on and on and not once did say I wasn?t going to pay but towards the end I spoke over him and asked if he could send me something via email. He then started yelling and hung up on me.
It sounds like a spam to me, if a company was really owed they would show any documentation of proof.

I received a computer call at my number for someone who does not have this phone number. That they need to have lawyer contact them and that they have legal papers.

The person they are trying to reach is known to me, but does not have a checking account .  I called this number back and informed them not to use my number as I am not a messenger service for anyone.  The person I spoke to was very rude and they are threatening legal action.

This is day 3 for me. Day one SOUNDED like a live person, with same info as BY...'paperwork that has come to my desk' and 'we will forward to you last employer' and 'summons on my doorstep tomorrow between 12-5 pm'. Today was the last straw.  Yesterday they called twice and it was a computer. This number called my home and 3 cell phones AT THE SAME TIME.  Gotta be a computer there. Claims he is a David Steinberg. I don't know any computers named David Steinberg.....LOL The fact that I typed 855-746 into Google and got 2 pages with links of this number shows they are calling and annoying alot of people.....

According to the Intelius search I ran, 855 746 2499 is not a valid phone number.  That's why the number they leave on your voicemail to call them back is different.

You are exactly correct.  The IRS will never contact anyone by phone, email and such concerning issues with them.  You will receive a USPS letter. The thieves are working overtime to come up with new schemes.

I just received the same message on my work and cell#, I googled this irs form:Multiple owners of a single loan.   If there are multiple owners of undivided interests in a single loan, such as in pools, fixed investment trusts, or other similar arrangements, the trustee, record owner, or person acting in a similar capacity must file Form 1099-A on behalf of all the owners of beneficial interests or participations. In this case, only one form for each borrower must be filed on behalf of all owners with respect to the loan. Similarly, for bond issues, only the trustee or similar person is required to report.

Governmental unit.   A governmental unit, or any of its subsidiary agencies, that lends money secured by property must file Form 1099-A.

Subsequent holder.   A subsequent holder of a loan is treated as a lender and is required to report events occurring after the loan is transferred to the new holder.

Multiple lenders.   If more than one person lends money secured by property and one lender forecloses or otherwise acquires an interest in the property and the sale or other acquisition terminates, reduces, or otherwise impairs the other lenders' security interests in the property, the other lenders must file Form 1099-A for each of their loans. For example, if a first trust holder forecloses on a building, and the second trust holder knows or has reason to know of such foreclosure, the second trust holder must file Form 1099-A for the second trust even though no part of the second trust was satisfied by the proceeds of the foreclosure sale.

Abandonment
An abandonment occurs when the objective facts and circumstances indicate that the borrower intended to and has permanently discarded the property from use. You have ?reason to know? of an abandonment based on all the facts and circumstances concerning the status of the property. You will be deemed to know all the information that would have been discovered through a reasonable inquiry when, in the ordinary course of business, you become aware or should become aware of circumstances indicating that the property has been abandoned. If you expect to commence a foreclosure, execution, or similar sale within 3 months of the date you had reason to know that the property was abandoned, reporting is required as of the date you acquire an interest in the property or a third party purchases the property at such sale. If you expect to but do not commence such action within 3 months, the reporting requirement arises at the end of the 3-month period
