Friend of mine came into the office asking about "Red and Yellow Errors"
I asked a few questions and found out this same guy had called him.

Thank you everyone for posts.  Good to know it was a scam.

Then again the heavy accent - didn't match the name of Eric Wilson

Exactly the same thing happened to me.  I also hope there is nothing new on my computer.  He saw the picture on the screen saver and began asking questions if this was my wife and grandchildren.  That is when I became concerned and got his name, Romeo Hunter, and ended the call.

My experience was the same as the above. I was apprehensive at first but he first started out directing ME how to look up the error messages. Next thing you know he has me type in an address and soon HE was on my computer. As soon as he started talking money to help me A BIG RED FLAG WENT UP and I stopped him from doing anything. Before he logged off he had installed GOOGLE CHROME which I did not want as I have an older computer and it doesn't work well on it.

I printed the error messages and his notepad message and promptly deleted the access info he left on my tool bar. Also ran my Norton virus scan which found nothing. He said he was going to send me an email but never asked for the address which I wouldn't have given him and I never received one. I am still going to check with my computer support team to see if there is anything further I need to do. My contact person went by ROMERO HUNTER (good India name). lol

If you fell for this REFORMAT your hard drive!!! everything you do online they can now see. Re install a fresh copy of windows. DO NOT use that computer until you get it fixed. If you check any bank accounts or credit card(s) they will get all your information.

Well I received the same call yesterday from 855-752-4075 x67194 from Edwin Parker.. Saying he was from Microsoft and my computer was sending them error messages.. Funny thing is, I really have been having problems with my computer and I had been hitting the send error message button to Microsoft and so I thought that it was for real... Dumbly I did let him into my computer, and their were over 49,000 error messages... Edwin talked for over 30mins explaining all kinds of stuff.. I cut him off several times and asked what was it that was needed.. Finally he got to the screen that displayed the MDI support and the above phone number and $150.00. He told me to write the phone number down. I asked for his extension, which he reluctantly gave to me, and said anyone could help me.. I advised him I needed to talk this over with my husband.. We just had a new harddrive installed in July.. He kept telling me that the Microsoft operating system needed to have an antivirus for it and that the McAfee I had would not keep  it safe.. Kept showing me that I wasn't protected because there weren't any kb numbers behind my AOL program, nor my McAfee program.. that is when I really knew something was wrong..
Edwin spoke with a slight English accent.

The best way to get your money back is to call up the bank and ask for chargeback. Try to do it immediately as the sooner you do the sooner you get the money back. Even FTC caught these scammers.

I received a call at 12:25 CDT from a gentleman calling himself Calvin Williams.  He said he was from Microsoft and claimed my computer was sending a lot of error messages. I said I needed to change the baby's diaper and would call him back.  He gave me the number 1-855-752-4075 and said I should ask for Calvin Williams.  When I called the number back, they said the company was India Tech Support, not Microsoft.

I just had the same experience as those above.  I got the caller to give me the 855-752-4075 phone number and then checked here.  A scam, as I suspected.

I am on the DO NOT CALL list and I know there are supposed to be penalties when these guys call us and have no business relationship with us.  I will report this number to the DO NOT CALL list people, and refer them to this website. THIS WILL BE A TEST OF WHETHER OUR "GOVERNMENT CAN DO NOTHING GOOD" de-funding of government agencies, by the "business-friendly" (read "criminal behavior friendly") right wing has left the world wide open to this scam and to "Rachel from Card Services", who calls me on the average once a day.

We DO need "consumer protection" from such predatory and obviously immoral, if not illegal, scams as this one.  "Business friendly" should not include "sscam friendly".

This company called me and said my computer was sending them a lot of error messages and that I needed to go to my computer now and fix it.  I knew it was a scam so I pretended to do what he was telling me to.  I finally admitted to him that I was just writing the steps down and I would do it on the computer later.  He then told me to just call Microsoft tech support when I was ready.  I did manage to get his number and the name of his company, "MDI", before he hung up.

Call was like the others described (except my caller's name was "John"). I had my son, who is far more computer savvy than I am, call him back - and it became clear that he was not from Microsoft but was just trying to sell a product.

I received a phone call from 855 752 4075 stating that he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending error messages.  Most of what he said I needed him to repeat because of a heavy accent.  When he tried to instruct me to do follow his instructions on my computer, I questioned his identity.  He was very defensive, and said his name was Calvin Williams and the employee badge was 0099.  I made him repeat his information and he was a little rude in doing so.  I told him that I would check into his claims and get back to him and then I hung up.  He called back not even 5 minutes later - angry and wanting to know what I needed his employee number.  I told him that HE called me and that OBLIGATED HIM to give me the information.
Then I hung up.
I am trusting that this is a scam.................

Grateful for the other reports, I decided to add my voice. I got the same call purporting to be from Microsoft and giving the 855-752-4075 number as the only validation. When I doubted his ability to determine that my particular computer was generating error messages he asked me to go to Start/Run/Eventvwr to see the errors - which, of course, weren't there. At that point I decided it was futile to try to get more information from the speaker whom I could barely understand due to inarticulate English. When I hung up I reminded myself, Microsoft would never make such a cold call with such a foolish claim. They would validate their presence clearly and politely with something that was not invasive and something that was real.

I think this number is a scam. Do not trust these guys and definitely do not have them fix your computer. They will probably have you install a virus and then charge you money to fix it.

Just like the rest of the comments above.  Said he was from Microsoft and his name was Gary David.  Said my computer had a Trojan virus and needed me to start my computer for him.  I got his name and number and called a friend who is a programmer.  He advissed to not call back or do anything else.  Then I looked at this site.
