Chris Anders called myself and my parents, threatened me with lawsuits and a possible felony. When I told them the debt was settled years ago, they even went as far as to tell me the company I settled the debt with was probably a scam. Don't fall for them

Got a call left voicemail claiming to take court action if I or my attorney did not call back immediately . Very rude threating voicemail. I have no idea what the debt is in regards to.

Got a call from these guys told me to pay call them back with a recorded message as they had papers to serve. I do not know what this could pertain to.

I recieved a threatening call from this agency saying I owed them roughly twice as much as I did owe them and acted to as if they were going to press criminal charges if not paid stated I went into chase and took out cards with no intent to pay since the cards i have come down sick and am waiting for disability I was terrified when they told me charges would be persued and didnt know what to do but ive never had a company threaten charges on me... it is illegal for them to do this right

Got a phone call today.  A recorded message. "It said this is a recorded message for Seith Yung.  You must call and it spewed off another 1800 number that I didn't get by midnight tonight to leave a statement or arrest warrant will be fired in your district.  It than repeated the same message and hung up"  The 1800 number was said so fast I didn't get it and there wasn't an option to repeat so I am not sure what it is or who it is.  If anyone else has gotten the call let me know what that 1800 number so I can give them a call and give them a good piece of my mind !:)  
U did hit called Id and it traced the number back a Verizon Wireless Conference call account.

What if someone STOLE your social security number opened an account in your name took out several payday loans in YOUR name withdrew the loans from the bank than went and CLOSED the account and ran off with over $1500 in cash and left YOU holding the bag.  Now, I get phone calls EVERYDAY from scumbags like this threatening me at home and at work.  You should really think twice before you talk about 'welfare America" stealing money and us "scummy thieves" not wanting to pay it back. They are a collection agency CCR the bill was real but only 88$ I called the original debtor made arrangements to pay it. This company tacked on just over 400$ and wanted a cc number...No mail just this call threatening me with court and fines all BS and against the FDCPA. making them susceptible to federal prosecution.

This company calls under a private number, leaves harassing message stating they are a legal entity ,again no name, they are trying to help me before they file criminal and civil charges. If I don't cal back in 12 hours they are serving me by sheriff dept and the courts will kill me. When I cal back it is CRS collection co. and the auto dialer gives the choices, legal dept, recovery and payments.
Yes they are scum and have no proof of debt.

we owe nothing, we have no credit cards, have all bills automatically paid.  we keep our bills simple, and paid up.  so why are they calling us.  we have not had credit cards in over a decade.  now i am not saying all gettting called are like us. but i just know we owe nothing to anyone.

No, I'd say you're the "professional piece of crap" since you obviously think people should just pay any Tom, Dick or Harry who calls and says that they owe them money.  No proof of debt = nothing owed, per the FDCPA.

They are bottom feeders/scammers. The best weapon is to be informed...know what is on your credit report, monitor your bank account, ask for proof of the so-called debt. They have no power nor legal ground. I let them know that I had done my research and no such debt/bad check existed. They could not produce any evidence. I had my employer threaten them with action if they called my work again.

Some how they called my brother in PA and told him i had two criminal charges against me and that i was fixing to be served papers. I called this number and they.are a third party for.ace.cash.express and that i wad facing bad check charges. First off, i never wrote... a.check to them, but like a dummy i gave them my cc information.

Actually I find it to be good advise.  This scam stinks to high heaven and I hope others will read and agree with Elspeth,   a regular and informed member of this discussion board.

They're scammers.  If you really DID owe someone money, they would have contacted you via mail with dunning letters for a long time before they decided to sue you.  And they also would not have any problem mailing you proof that you owe them a debt.  It is a violation of federal law to threaten alleged debtors that they'll be served court papers, or to contact your HR Manager or supervisor in order to scare you into paying a debt.  NO ONE is given a heads up when they'll be served.  The court process server just shows up.  

Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Let your HR Dept and manager/supervisor know that you're being harassed by scammers.  

Never pay anyone who refuses to mail you documentation proving that you not only owe the debt, but that they are legally able to collect said debt in your state.  Anyone who refuses to mail you this documentation is owed nothing - per the FDCPA.

This number is doing a good job of trying to scare you. They called my employer and I called them back and they are telling me they will have the county serve me papers. I have told them to quit harrasing me and they replied to tell me they will cal my hr mgr again and supervisor to make sure I will be at my job on a certain day and time to have county serve me papers

they are just a collection agency that has purchased defaulted loans and trying to collect with scare tactics these people are crazy and will never serve you with anything as they just want you to pay them something if you accept their info you owe....demand to see the proof of this debt and they cannot provide
