Receved a call form Jessica of Hogan and Weinburg stating I owed a payday loan back in 2009 in the amount of 245.31. I cannot find thme online to send payment AND I WILL NOT GIVE MY BANK INFORMATION.pLEASE HELP ME.

I have received a call regarding "imperative business matter". Very questionable intensions.

Could not make out the caller name or company, even when I called back.  He threaten to sue me if I did not make a payment of some sort.

It's scammers that go through credit reports and rob not only the persons they are harassing, they are also robbing the creditors. It's what I call Credit Report Pirates!!!! In my case they are harassing me about my ex-husband. He checked his credit report and this bill they are trying to collect on has been paid off a few years ago, it was still showing on the report. So it is a good idea to contact the Credit Bureau to clear out debts that have been paid.

Here's some info for anyone geting calls from them:

They are a debt collection SCAM.  Registered in NY SOS with NO agent information at:

3840 East Robinson Road, Blasdell NY 14219 (address doesn't exist)

3840 East Robinson Road, Amherst NY 14228 (address from their website is actually a UPS Store in Amherst NY)

Phone numbers area/local codes are to Buffalo NY.

pick up the phone ... and write down any and all information they tell you.  It's a scam .. so, don't give out any information, but ask for their name, address, phone number, what it's regarding etc.  Record everything they tell you.  They like to say that they are attempting to serve you with "legal" documents, or they leave a voicemail identifying themselves as from a "legal claims division."  

Even though they violate nearly every aspect of the FDCPA and typically multiple state statutes as well - attorney's won't take a violation case to court - because this operation has no address, no identifiable person and, when you do win because they don't show up - there's no way to collect.

File complaints with the following organizations:
BBB Upstate NY
Your State's attorney general
NY State Attorney General
FTC
the Internet Crime Commission (www.ic3.gov)

In my situation, I was also able to file a complaint with the illinois department of financial and professional regulation because in illinois collection agencies must be licensed either by their state or by illinois.  This company is not a licensed collection agency.

The more complaints that are sent in, the less likely they will continue to operate (under this name anyway)

Yes, they are likely trying to trick you.

This is twice, I recieved this call, when I call them, they say will take our number of there list, but yet I still get phone calls.

I'm glad I did a reverse number look-up.  I didn't think the call I got was legit, first it was left on my recorder and second it didn't make any sense.  Legal matters aren't usually handled over the phone.  I sure hope folks don't fall for this.

Got the robo-call minutes ago. They never say who the message is intended for. TOTAL F%&$ING SCAM!!!

I got a call months ago that i was getting a summons the next day........its just a scare tactic.......I said see you in court lol......and they still call everyday.......now today they left a message saying this is the last warning  that i will receive a summons at my home or work lol......this is over a $300 credit card trying to say i owe $3000 for this with fees included.....and the statue of limitations is almost up if not already.............they can call all they want I screen my phone calls lol

Brian winters called said he was from h w associates says its,a,legal matter and warrents and legal papers are beimg sent to my home and work. What BS its a SCAM

RECIEVED A CALL FROM THIS JACK A** A WEEK AGO ON MY WORK PHONE - NOT SURE WHO THEY WERE LOOKING FOR BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A NAME...THIS IS A SCAM AND A VIOLATION OF THE FDCPA BY DIVULGING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION ON AN ANSWER MACHINE...PLEASE DO NOT GIVE IN ON THESE PEOPLE - THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I have been receiving calls for weeks and they are saying they are going to freeze whatever bank accounts I have and it is in regards to a check fraud and loan default.. i don't think I have anything out there...is it a scam?

I got the same call so I called them back and to my surprise it was not a scam.... It was a old problem that I thought was taken care of. They were actively investigating this.......so NO it is not a scam.......
