Yes you will remove the number, that hasn't belonged to the person on the account in years(over 4 years).  Then another debt collection agency will pick up the account a couple of weeks later and start leaving messages. Does no good to remove the number if it isn't removed from the database the debt collection agencies get the information from in the first place. All it is doing is helping you out not the person being harassed by these calls.

After they contacted me several times from a blocked number I looked it up turns out it is in fact illegal in Texas for them to do it when I informed the guy on the phone of it I get told "we comply with all federal laws" told him to p****off and hung up now I receive calls from an unrestricted number with the same "you or your attorney need to contact us to fix am important matter" p****off you bottom feeders get a life

So everything I have researched shows it is illegal to contact from a restricted/blocked number it's also not right for you guys to contact peoples parents when they are not under age and it is also not right for you guys to contact peoples work. How are you still in business

I got the call from these scumbags as well after finding out they called another family member whom i have no idea how they got the name or any other info. They are a scam, so watch out for these scammers!!

these fools called saying they have important information about a friend of mine and they had me listed as a referal. but they called her saying they had her listed as a referral about me . HOW THE HELL THEY GETTING OUR NUMBERS with this kind of crap? im reporting them to the BBB and i hope they can do something about these annoying calls . I call b***s***.  The message left did not ask for the person they were calling about but asking for information about the person. Who in the hell thinks I'm going to tell a stranger how to contact someone.  Your company intentionally calls other people to phish for information about another. You do not have incorrect contact information.  You are scum on my a**.  Try some rebuttal to this.

The company is Adsen and Associates.  "Adsen & Associates is a leader in the consumer debt recovery industry. Our company evaluates portfolios of defaulted consumer receivables from major banks, consumer financing agencies and many more and attempts to partner with each individual consumer as they repay their responsibilities and work toward financial recovery."  
In a nutshell they buy debt written off by credit card companies and then try to collect whatever they can.  They left the following message: ""Yes this message is for ****** Brown my name is Charles cooper with the addison(?) Associates Group. We have a situation in the office with regards your immediate attention Ms. Brown before we make any final decisions on the outcome of your the recommendation on this file. We need to have you call contact our office as soon as possible at 8557916982. Again it's 8557916982."    
That would be my little sister, I have not seen her in eight years, she lives on the other coast.  They only got my phone number because we once shared an address, the house we grew up in and that is more than 20 since either of us lived there.  Nice people, they took me off of the data record, but still I am not my sister's keeper.

Yeah keep getting these calls from 8557916982... pre recorded message and it's for someone i don't even know.

A man with a "I'm here to kick butt and take names" tone named Robert Bartell called saying, "This is Robert Bartell from Adson & Associates about Mitsy Montgomery. I want to give you an opportunity to make a bad situation right before we take action. Please call 855-791-6982."

I don't even know a Mitsy Montgomery. Needless to say, we didn't call back.

Bull$hit!  78 year old women has been harassed by this company and almost had a heart attack.  She was never given as a contact.  Bottom feeder pretty much describes the tactics.  Contact the people that owe you...if anyone really owes you.

Report them to your local bbb and the federal trade commission.

They left a message saying 'this is Melvin Harrison, calling as a courtesy regarding urgent matter involving Cynthia Carter, an urgent matter that has come to my desk....'  I called back as a courtesy to let them know they had wrong number and I don't know Ms Carter.  They answered phone as Adkins and associates and told me that 'Mr Harrison is in a meeting'.  I told them that I was calling as courtesy to let them know they had wrong number and wrong person regarding Ms Carter.  They then asked for my number so they could find the matter in their database.... Nobody tracks client matters by phone number...  I refused and guy got surly and hung up.  

Don't know who they are or what they do, but they are relying on your good nature to do their bidding.  Smells like a scam.  They definitely are misrepresenting themselves to take advantage of you.

Regarding the above post. We do not have a "private investigator," nor would we have any knowledge of an "assault charge," or state that we do.

If our office or our affiliates have the incorrect contact number, we urge all to inform us promptly so we can update our records appropriately.

My sister got a call from Adson and assoc. from 8557916982 saying a person put me down as a point of contact. This contact was my ex daughter who I havent talked to in 10 years. They said they were a private investigator and was needing My ex daughter to reply to a assult charge. they gave a file number, lol they call about twice a week. and it is Adson and associates a collection agency.

This number has called us twice, claiming we are a contact for a neighbor and they need to be contacted asap.  URGENT they said.
I contacted the neighbor.  They never gave us as a contact and they have done research on this company. This "company" uses different company names and claims you owe money. But they refuse to send proof claiming it will cost them money to do so. ANY legit company will ALWAYS be willing to send proof.

Get calls from this number asking if I am <someone else's name>. Regardless of what I say - which is usually, "I'm sorry, you have a wrong number," they tell ME that I have a file in their office. I just tell them to send it back and hang up.

This is, from what I've been able to determine, a bottom-feeder collection agency.
