A restraining order?  These calls are from out of the country.  They don't even know what a restraining order is or how it would apply to debt or collections.   Probably our Asian (indian/pakistani) friends.

These same people called my mom and me Affirmative Litigation in New Hampshire 855-812-6114. Said I had 24-48 hrs to have my attorney respond my charges are breach of contract and attempt to defraud a company they said I owe 568.92 and if I didn't give a payment by phone I had to pay $4,293.90 in court. They said I had a loan at check n go in January of 2009 that I didn't repay. I never had a payday loan with this company, so I told the lady that I never had a loan she said well save that for court! So I'm pissed and confused its fours years later and your just reaching out to me!

It IS a scam.  Per federal law - the FDCPA - your caller MUST MAIL within five days of the initial call to you, a debt validation letter showing original creditor, amount of loan, date of loan, date of last payment, and if they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation means that, per the FDCPA, you owe them NOTHING.  And if they DID mail you this information, you'd still have the legally required 30 days to respond.

BTW, a "subpoena" is used to compel the evidence of witnesses; if you actually have a lawsuit against you, you would receive a court "summons".  Just another legal term the scammers (who are offshore) can't wrap their tiny minds around.  You can't find a website for the company, because they're scammers.  And even if a company has a website, it doesn't necessarily mean it's legitimate.

Report the caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  Advise the caller that you're recording all calls they make to you and keeping a log of the dates/times they call so your own attorney (doesn't matter if you have one or not) can file a lawsuit against THEM for multiple violations of the FDCPA.

My husband received a call from "Affirmative Litigation-NYC" who informes him that his "MasterCard" bill from a supposed credit card he opened back in 2007 is now being handeled with their "law firm" and that he owes $1,800 now or they will send paperwork to take him to court.  They said if we go to court then it will cost him over $5,500.  He asked them to send the paperwork showing this supposed application that he signed.  The lady replied "I can send you paperwork but if the subpoena for court comes first there is nothing I can do to "help" you.  I have been unable to find any website for this company.  They have now reduced the price down to $600 to pay off which further tells me this must be a scam!!

Starting getting these calls again after 9 1/2 months of this nonsense. With all this same information on a restraining order and case of action with the same case file number 57687. That they needed  our attnorney name and number or they would process for civil action. I asked for the name of the supposed loan company along with addresses and they hung up on me multiple times. My wife called them and they were rude and valgar with her, she then hung up on them and the calls persisited all day on a restricked line over and over a total of 40 times. They refuse to give you any important information on this supposed case. And how many locators use a automated voice system to call you. And were is the paper work the goes along with all this non-sense.This is all a scam and should be reported to attnorney general in that area for them to follow up on them.

i HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE PHONE CALLS EVER SINCE i INQUIRED ABOUT A TAX LOAN....bIG MISTAKE ON MY PART!
there has been at least four different companies and they have even called my work saying that they were going to send out the sheriffs.
I have been to the local police station and a Sargent there called the number and said this is Sargent S___
from the local police department and as soon as he said sargent they hung up. He then went on line to show me the amount of scam calls by this same number and told me that the next time they call use a whistle or sports horn to blow it in their ear. I did that and stopped the calls for about three months and then another company started calling.
I wish these people would get a real job and Life and leave mine alone.

Received a call saying that we were involved in a lawsuit.  Gave a claim and affidavit number plus the call back number of 855-803-1373.  Said a restraining order was involved and needed to show cause.  Turn information over to attorneys.  Figured it was a scam.  Did not reply.

When i asked for this they cursed me and hung up on me. This isnt the first time people have tried this on me. If you want me to pay send me proof. IT is the law

We have had these scam artist harassing us for the longest time..First they tell me we have a payday loan and need to give them information from our bank or credit card ..I said send me the paperwork and I will be more than happy to pay if I truly owe and what address are you going to send it to..hung up...called again and said they were sending the police and sheriff to my address..I said okay send them and asked what address they were coming to..hung up. called again saying I had a court date at 11am that same morning and if I paid them they would cancel it..I said that if I had a court date then I would have been sent information from the court as to when and where to appear..I asked what court it was at and guess what THEY HUNG UP... Next time they called and said they were going to rape me and kill my family if I didn't pay...I said okay I will be waiting for you when will you be here and what address are you coming to..hung up..Next time they called 100 times and just kept saying the same thing..blocked the calls and that worked for a while..then they called the Police Station in Santa Barbara and gave a bomb threat in my husband's name..well that sent the police to our address because they looked us up and when we answered the door and they saw we weren't from India problem solved for awhile again..now they have started again with this 0000000000 number...well CORY if this is real then why don't they have the correct court numbers and area I live in...and also why would I have a restraining order against someone as they don't say my name in a civil matter where I owe money..if I am restrained then I can't pay you can I...

The link you provided was for the U.S. Attorney's asset forfeiture unit for the district of New Hampshire. Basically, this for civil actions in the state of New Hampshire--how does that support your argument that the company that contacted you was legitimate?

Most of what you just wrote is gobbledygook. Affirmative litagation? What does that mean? I am sure that they would be glad to send you a bogus paid in full receipt for a bogus bill. Either you are a shill for the company, a dupe, or an idiot. Most of the people here are talking about threats of lawsuits, or even arrest. Once they even spoofed the U.S. Marshall's office in the wrong district, and when I called they didn't know anything about the supposed arrest warrant in my name. We no longer have debtor prison, and you can't charge someone with criminal fraud for writing a check that the recipient is aware does not have funds in the check--why do you think companies don't want a post-dated check? If they are going to sue you, they have to send a validation letter, and then serve you with papers outlining when and what court. Most of the time you do not even have an actual court hearing. You are sworn in, and a lawyer asks you a series of questions to determine if you have the resources to pay their client. If you don't, they recommend that no further action be taken--you are reported to the credit bureau. If you do have the resources, either an arrangement is made or they file for a judgement. Sometimes they file for a judgement even if you don't have resources. Seventy percent of all judgements are never recovered. I have been getting these calls ever since I took a payday loan out some 6 years ago--and I paid off the company. And more than fifteen years ago I did go through a rough time. Talk to an attorney if you want: do not pay these scam artists.

Prank Call
Got a call tonite from 00000000 on my I.D.  they left a message that I also was reported and gave a file #57687 and said to get ahold of my attorney as I had to appear in court.  Gave me the number 855-803-1373 to call for arrangements.  I have done nothing and I am not falling for this.

Prank Call
It's a scam.  Just received recording call from the "0000" directing a call to 855-803-1373 with a supposed case file number indicating there was a restraining order going against me in civil court.  Upon calling the number and attempting to ask who they are and what it's about I was told they are the Affirmation Legal Action Center at which time they demanded my name.  When I started to state I wasn't sure I wanted to give my name since I was not sure who they were the person immediately hung up on me.  There is no such action against me and no reason for one.  It's a scam.  Any attempt to make them look like a part of the U.S. Justice Department makes it even more of a scam.

Another India or Pakistan scam caller trying to extort money
Saying you need to appear in court on some fake lawsuit. They have
Stolen my identity. Will be glad to take your credit card information to pay off so called lawsuit.
They were stopped by the Feds for a while but are back to it again.
I guess the only way that they can be stopped permanently is if they are put to death.
