This number called and left a message at the reception desk at my work. I tried to call back but had to leave a message due to their high call volume. I don't owe anything to anyone, so I have no idea how they got my name & employer. Calling the Better Business Bureau to report tem, and possibly the police also.

For anyone with this problem, it's Action Collection & Receivables Management and they call everyone including me, a minor that cant even have debt. They call me at school, during tournaments, I threatened to call the cops, left me alone for a bit, and their back. They currently have trouble with the Alberta provincial government and are constantly annoying innocent people. It's not a scam, it's a crappy company!

The Government in Canada is using this company, as I only owe the Gov. No credit cards nothing but taxes and medical. The Government isn't going to stop them, it uses them.

keep getting calls from this # saying it is an emergency message for John McKinnon.  This happens at least once a day for the last week or so

I have received numerous calls from these idiots, all I get is "please wait" as we are experiencing high call volumes when they have called me.  They are calling for someone I have never heard of and then hang up when I ask them to remove my number.  They are eve so stupid as to ask me for a number to call the person I have never heard of.  I have left two messages for the "manager" and do not even get a courtesy of speaking to some on or a return call - just her voice mail.  Now I have been advised it will take at least 48 hours to remove my number from their list.  How do you complain about a company such as this?

What Government!!! the owners of such firms and companies are running the government themselves! this is mostly the  problem of three countries; USA, Britain and CANADA. the interesting part is that in all these three the Media and communication companies are owned by JEWISH MAFIA who has hands in federal and provincial governments nowadays.... you now could find out for yourself why we face pains and problems which our poor parents faced and they could not do anything about it.

keep receiving calls from this number, collection agency, looking for my nephew. i have no contact with him, caller was very rude when i requested they remove my contact phone number from his file,, hung up on me before i could finish my request.

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago, selected the number from a list of available numbers because it looked essy to remembrr and now im getting calls from this 855 number obviously looking for s previous owner of this number

Your caller has the burden of proof to show that (1) you owe a debt and (2) that you owe that money to them.  You don't have to prove anything.

The same number has been calling my work place with a text to landline message asking for my name to call back by the end of the day. So I did and apparently I owe cash canada 1200.00 that I borrowed back in the year 2010. What a bunch of B.S. Now they want proof from me saying that the loan was paid in full. What loan , I never had a loan from cash canada

I blocked their number, my phone won't ring when they call but I still receiver the voicaols and it's extremely annoying.

Has anyone tried calling these guys back, 'collect'?

I am in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and have been getting these calls for months now (all recorded messageA) looking for my nephew.  Today the call had a real live person - I told them I had contacted my nephew and he had stated that he knew of no reason why a collection agency would be looking for him.  They left a number and said he should call.  When I did a reverse directory lookup I found that site so now know that this is a scam.

lmfao these idiots are trying to secure $2200 from me in the name of telus mobility. know how i stopped em? u need to KNOW your current credit score first off and ALL details. heres how; CALL THE CREDIT BUREAU!!! give them your info and report the collection as a DISPUTE. it will then be recorded. and forwarded to ANYONE managing an acct with your name n credit on it. after this i waited a few days for the lag to catch up and i then called up these a***oles to talk about the debt and told them they were out of their collective minds(no pun intended) and that id sue for harassment if the calls continued. i told them im making a low ball offer to "settle in full" and after they decline, you tell them your taking them to court over this angrily and hang up. NO CALLS SINCE!!! it worked for me GIVE IT A TRY!!!!

HOW do I get these recorded messages to STOP calling me?? They call every day for the last 5 months from 3 or 4 different #s and the message has a few different voices. No person behind the call to give S&*T to ! They calll asking for a different person & state an reference #. I am curious if anyone is getting asked for the same person. I know it is a scam of some sort but how do I make them stop?

I am receiving calls from Action Collections.  The bill they say they are collecting is 4X the amount of the bill I had.  I was very ill for 2 years and now I can no longer work and they cannot produce a bill to show me and the company I owed no longer has a record of the bill since they only keep it for 2 years, but they know the amount. They say they follow the Fair Debt Collections Act which happens to be an American code not Canadian.
I don't know how to stop the calls.

They refuse to send me documentation as well. I've cooperated as best as I could but stated I wanted to see actual documentation and instead they just harass me and my parents.

Google FDCPA  and learn your rights as far as debt collections.  Next time they call,  find out what it is that they want.   Whether you owe a debt or not,  dispute any claim that they make,  then demand written validation of the Original alleged debt as well as their right to claim and collect in your state.  Do not accept any excuses or anything via email or fax.   If they refuse to provide this validation,  they are violating the Fair Debt Collections act and until they do,  you owe nothing.   Refuse to discuss it any further over the phone until this validation is provided.   They are a low life bottom feeding shyster debt collector of old and out of SOL or nonexistent debts.

This is harassment. PLEASE call the police and report all such behavior.

this number will not stop calling my house, every day for a while now, dont know who they are but want it to stop and dont know how to block the number.

Just another call from a person or company who wants to just breathe into a phone, sometimes it's just a half automated massage.

Received a call this Saturday morning at 7:30AM in BC from 855-824-0653.  Thanks to all the above information I called the number to ask them to remove us from their list.  They are looking for my husband's ex-wife of thirty years back.  Talked to a person who said it would take 48 hours for them to stop the calls. I have now blocked the number and the others listed above.
