I got a call from this number saying that I owe Bell Canada $1000 dollars in debt since 2001. First of all I've never been with Bell!! and when I tried to get the customer service rep's name he didn't want to say and when I asked more information about the company he said it was confidential. Is this a legit collection agency?

I continue to receive calls from this number = Action Collection Company. They call routinely, but ask for a different person each time??  I think they're more scam artists, than debt collectors.

The first time I answered, and explained that person was unknown to me, and that I was on the DNCL, The person was quite polite ...... but it didn't do any good.  They still call my number, looking for a variety of folks.  Perhaps this is how they're trained ..... random dial, & bait the hook, until you catch a fish!!

This is annoying , Since this annoying company doing business unethically by disturbing people's peace,so the ordinary Canadian citizen has the right to voice his objection , and since their toll free number is listed, here is a solution to make them (the annoying company) realize it.
Why doesn't everyone call exactly those tool free number, and let it ring and when they pick up, don't talk keep the line open untill they hang up, This way they get charged for each minutes. So imagine
if everyone call that number, how much the company has to pay for each call. Simple example
if they call/annoy/disturb 10 000 phone number, if those 10 000 owner of these numbers calls back at anytime, and leave line open , Imagine just the cost of minutes charged to this unethical practice of these crappy business.  10 000 x 3 cents/minute = that is 300 $ cost. just from one call each.
(imagine if those numbers calls daily the toll free, so 300$/day cost would run to thousands for this annoying company )
I think this is the only way to make them shut up, because government is so passive toward taking a constructive action. So logically if they are allowed to disturb your peace with their annoying calls, you have the right to make calls to their toll free number, and without talking, open the line and stay until they hang up. Same treatment, Tit 4 tat.  until they correct their actions, it is ironic how they call themselves , while in fact they need some correction to their business unethical practice.

I got a call from these dicks. They want me to pay a debt from a company I have never dealt with. If I pay over the phone he will give me a discount.He said the original debt was 550.59$ starting in 1997 with bell canada (never had a phone in my name EVER) but payments have been made by my father in 04,05and 06, my father died in 98!!! pretty good trick by my dad don't you agree? Now it's 204.59$ he will give me a dicounted payment of 169.29$. They also knew the last three digits of my social insurance# . I am hoping they will pop by to collect if they know my phone# they better know 911!!!

i think collection agencies, are businesses that buy debts that have been paid off  by insurence companies that cover such busineses for delinquent accounts now first off if the debt is settled and paid off by any insurence company then its been taken care of by such action.
would anyone not conclude that if a collection agency than buys that paid off debt then its gonna be paid twice if you two pay it .and to start with no one borrowed any money in the beginning from any collection agency. only the buisness that provided the credit card to begin with so its illegal to do that . they call everyone we know for funds they dont owe them a cent . and even an old man who never had a credit card before in his life is constantly harrassed by these very un professional  vulgar people
and i do think its time that the gouvernment stepped in and helped to put a stop to debt collection canada wide credit cards are alloud to charge what to heck ever they want   (  NO  GOOD   )  if someone dont pay there debt dont lend no more to them solution settled

I got a call again this morning. I answered it, it is a robocall, saying "THis call is for John Dillas. If you are John Dillas, please press one. If you are not John Dillas, please press 2." I pressed 2 and then was connected to a representative. I told him that there was no person by that name and asked him to remove my number from the list. He repeated the number and told me that it was removed. Hope never get any such calls again.

I have been bombarded with spam phone calls from these 2 numbers:
(855) 267-4168.  & (855)298-8511
***It has recently started about the 3 days ago, and they are calling my cell phone!  Does anyone know a way to block these #'s without having to pay a service?

this is not any telecom co. this is like 99% of all the other disguised calls are they are collectors the ones who buy someones debt after the original debt has been settled by the lender through insurence these leaches try to drain the borrower of extra cash by scare tactics we dont ow anyone (NO ONE)
but we still get nagged by them allmost every day for a debt that the original lender has allready gotten compensation forthey will tell you they are santa clause if you tgo along with them we have a plan we watch each others property and belongings and home and we dont let anyone bother us for others debts because they would skin some old lady to collect for nothing every day you have to watch them , we will allso be watching them in april , and so on they allso get help to perform there dirty work from business and local and teratorial gouvernents just because they have money  there scum that preys on the unfortunate id like to see any work...................................

Call many times and always leave a message saying, "This message is from Action Collection Co. It is important to call back. This is not telemarketing." Do not know what they want, as there is no person by the name that they were calling.

someone called me from this number says he is agent for CIK Telecom. This 3rd times received it.
Any idea for block this caller?
