Got call from this number from several different people over the course of 2 weeks, stating a case was pending and that if I wanted to stop it to call a totally different number to make arrangements....855 836 4046. When I respond back telling them they have been reported and a case is pending against them with the FTC, they then call using a automated message...

This company keeps calling and leaving ominous sounding automated messages for an incorrect version on a member of my household's name. I called the number back and it goes to a voice mail that does not identify their company's name. I told them to stop calling y number and that I would be reporting them to the FCC.

Well, I just got a call about my son who is handicapped and that he wrote a check that was returned. Interesting but my son does not write checks so I do believe this is a scam. They got pretty threatening on the phone. Would not give info to me about what it was about and my son can't speak on his behalf. Took it to my local police station and hope they investigate.

This number 8558360803 has harassed my son calling  over 6 times in the last 3 days. The recorded message has a woman saying my name then the man comes back on saying that either myself or my counselor need to settle the matter of an item that was returned by my bank. I haven't a clue how they got his number. They have never called me at all. They called twice just today. thanks for everybody's feedback. I was really puzzled.

How is this borrowing from tax payers? They have been harassing my son saying I owe them money from a returned item from my bank. This is a SCAM it's income tax time and they use a scare tactic. How did they get my son's number when they have never called me?

Send her the written verifiable validation first,  and maybe,  if she owes it,  she will take it under consideration and reach an acceptable solution,  or she may choose to dispute it.  Don't expect anyone to respond to threats, intimidation,  bullying,  and false statements or contacts over the phone from a stranger who spoofs their number and fakes their company name.   (IRS.....really now)

I have received  repeated calls from IMG and a case number; these started coming in after I applied for a payday loan so I think that is where they got my personal info  - kind of bad knowing this personal information gets distributed.  Guess I should not have filled out the info on a supposedly "secure" site.  Anyway, I don't answer, let it go to voicemail, sometimes if is a woman saying I will be served with papers, others say refer to my case number 2424242, etc.  My case is ready for review and so on.  I know it isn't legitimate.

I just got off the phone with these people. I talked to a lady named Melissa how couldn't give me any information and the to a paralegal and then Mr. Manning himself. I was told that this was able a payday loan with Ashland Funding and that since the funds wasn't there my bank People's Bank paid the amount and is not going to sue me for the entire amount. If I didn't make payment arrangements they would garish my paycheck and my taxes and I had orginally until 5:00 p.m. today. I informed them that I never received anything from anyone about this debt. Mr. Manning said that he would email me something right away, I still have not received anything. As we talked he got more and more frustered when he received that I was scrared and his threats wasn't doing anything. He became more and more upset and loud and at the end of the conversation informed me that "in order for them to get a default judgement, they don't have to go to court all they have to do is to sent a letter and if I don't reply within 30 days they then can get a default judgement" I laughed in his face and then hung up the phone. It was a wasted 30 minutes of my time.

Now I ask your how do I contact to make a complaint about these people.

Cassie,    the IRS does not communicate with  people via the telephone concerning business matters.  You will always receive a letter from them.  The reason you have not received anything from the caller is because they have nothing.  It is a scam,  as you probably know by now,  and trying to scare people into doing stupid things is their game.
Next time they call,  stand your ground and tell them firmly that you are not going to be a victim of their scam and  to go to hell.

I first received a phone call from 1-855-836-0803 stating that they were going to garnish my paycheck if I didnt pay my full balance. I told them before I would pay anything I needed something in writing either emailed or sent to my address. This was back in December. Here it is January and I still have not received any paperwork on it. Then today I get a phone call from 716-989-0580 ext: 513 that they are the IRS and they received paperwork stating they were garnishing my income tax. So I called the number and it was The same place as the number above. I think if the IRS was going to take my income tax they would send paperwork to back it up. What do I need to do with these idiots:

My wife received a call from a representative of "Ingram, Manning, and GROSKY" (their spelling), the rep said her name is "Debra". The number originated at 855 836 0803 x517. "Debra" was looking for one of our sons, saying we were listed as his emergency contact, and her firm had already called His number and left messages but he had failed to respond. "Debra", stated that there was a complaint filed against our son in New York, (he's never been in New York) which had, a trial date of NEXT Tuesday, (this is Friday). "Debra" went on to say he MUST contact her TODAY or on Monday, "to settle this".
I immediately went online to search for the "Law Firm" "Debra" was representing.... It does not exist, but happily this site one does. Although the name of the the firm did not match the search terms the phone number did. After reading most of the posts herein, I called our State's Consumer Affairs office, who was familiar with the scenario. They also advised us to NOT engage with the caller in any way, AND if contacted again refuse to tell them anything but "YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO THE FTC, AND MY STATE'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS OFFICE. We were also advised to contact the "FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION" to report the call which I chose at my own discretion, to report anonymously. Happy hang up!

I JUST got a call from them. .John Manning is what he said his name was but the email came from a JOhn Washington.  The law office's name wasn't even correct. He said a sheriff was going to come to my job because of an old 2 year old payday loan.  I am not paying anything!  It didn't sound legit.

I never had a payday loan and I'm not even working. I reported them to the Ohio Atty General Office. It's a shame!!! Plus when you call them it says "The Offices of IMG" if it was a true law office then it would say "The Law Offices".

I got a call from this number about "an interview". I just listened to see what the caller would say. Apparently it was a foreigner and after realizing no one would say anything he said "You don't want an interview? Okay... I'll just call the next number".

I didn't apply for anything or request any information so I know it's a scam

These guys are not legit,  I cant find their law firm, I cant find anything about them.

Just FYI, you need to be licensed to collect, and in NY they are required to give you there license number.  If you ask them for it they get pissed.  Ask for their mailing address too so you can send a cease and decist.

I cant wait till i get an actual address for these fakes, I have the biggest freaking lawsuit lined up, have reported them to various gvt agencies.

They cant prove anything, and dont let them scare you into paying anything, only pay if they can prove it in a court of law.  most times they cant, usually cuz its outside the statute of limitations.  and also because they rarely have the documentation to back it up.

Lastly, if anyone is getting sued, be sure to save your voicemails where they say there is a lawsuit agaisnt you.  Funny thing is they told me they had a criminal suit agasint me...lol really when did debt lawsuits start going to criminal court.  Come on, they are just trying to frighten you into paying them something, then the statute of limitations is reset and they can collect everything legally.  Thats right, thats why you dont pay them a freakin dime, fight for your rights!

There is no such thing as a criminal debt collection case, unless you killed someone.  All debt cases are civil.  So #1 threat is totally wrong.

I am sorry Erica, that you paid them anything.  I would be willing to bet that the debits wont stop, so prepare yourself.  You may need to close you account.  But now that paid them something, they can and will come after you legally.  Since you reset the statute of limitations by paying the can now take you to court.  There are other ways to fight this.

I would suggest, talk to your lawyer first, that you close your bank account immediately.  You will most likely have to either pay them off, or fight.  I would fight, its not hard, ive been to court several times to fight these scum.

Most times they dont even have the paperwork to win a court case.  They will take it through the court system as long as they can until the judge realizes they have no proof you actually owe the debt.

Also check the payday loan laws in your state...most states have strict guidelines on how they can lend, at what rate etc.

At this point you need help.  Unless you are willing to fight yourself.

You are out of your mind...

Dont give them a dime, they cant just garnish your wages.

They need to take you to court and win first.

They need to prove that you owe the debt, that the debt is not illegal (most payday loans are made illegaly), that they are legaly allowed to collect, that the intereste etc was calculated property, and most importatnly that its not outside the statute of limitations (usually 5 years for revolviing accounts).

Tell them to mail you a letter, once you get that letter write a debt validation letter back, do it certified mail.  Google debt validation letter for examples.

They are breaking about a dozen laws, and if you paid them, you reset the statute of limitation, and now are liable for the whole debt.

DONT PAY THEM ANYTHING
