Kept getting text messages from 855-855-5193 from brainquiz saying they're charging my cell phone bill for $9.99 per month. The text said to text "stop" to cancel subscription. I called my cell phone company, they said it's okay as long as you do NOT text "stop" back to them. They put a block on my cell phone account for this number and other similar scams.  

My suggestion is to ask your cell company to block them, then do NOT respond to their texts. They will text you every 3-6 months. I believe they get your email from the internet or if you ever enter your information after being notified you won something online. If the cell phone company blocks them, at least you're only out $10, yet if you try and work it out with the company, you'll be out many months worth of charges.

Never click on anything online that says you've won something!

I have also implicated my cell company as being complicit in this scam as they know all about what these companies are doing.
There is a severe conflict of interest between the cell phone companies and these scam companies.  The cellular companies are getting a portion of these fraudulent payments and they certainly know that they are fraudulent based on the number of complaints they get.

This is corruption pure and simple, the phone companies are being "paid to look the other way" by the crammers.

UPDATE to previous posts:   The call was originally placed on 3/1/2012.  I was promised a refund check complete with a cancellation #, and a confirmation #.  I was to receive a refund check within a week.  Now that have vanished.  The guy at the UPS store said he gets at least 1 phone call and 3-4 letters every day about this compaqny.  He said he thinks they have moved to Canada.  The address is at a UPS Store, where the company has a post box with 2 years of unpaid rent.  The UPS guy suggested that I call my cellular company, and try to get a refund, or at least appraise them of this companies tactic, and to contact my state Attorney General and the federal FTC and launch complaints.  Done!  I think I am just a little wiser, but s.o.l.

just called this number.  It is now rerouted supposedly to somewhere in Michigan.  My conversation at this number was completed, so they said, to Premium Customer Care @ 3317 East Bell Rd, Unit 101-136, Phoenix, AZ

Sent 2/20 2:23PM Eastern time zone.  I went to a survey site to get more info on a survey I was considering.  Immediately after clicking to get information it requested name and mobile number.  I entered these 2 items and immediately they taxed me and said this account is activated and I will be be billed $9.99 per month.  I texted to opt out, immediately I received the following.  From 56431
Totalbrainquiz subs.  You are not subscribed to any services and will no longer receive any msgs or charges.  For more info call 855-8555193    My cell bill told a much different story.  I was being charged anyway, but they would be kind enough to cancel my subscription.  I called and after much yelling they said actually I had been billed two subscriptions, or $19.98.  After much more yelling at them, the rep, her supervisor would never come to the phone, said her supervisor agreed to refund my 20.00 by check and requested my address for mailing purposes.  As of today I still have not seen the refund check.  BTW they are in Phoenix, AZ.  PS, I am calling them again today.

     This is the biggest fraud and it appears whole lot of people are caught in this scam.

I received a $9;.99 charge on my cellular phone bill.  How do I have this charge refunded?  I have no idea how I got the charge and I'm trying to get it taken off my bill.
