Because my child ask for possible assistance that justfies rude behavior?  Received call from prepme4less asking if I had some time.  after a yes response, he immediately begins asking for personal information about my child. When I explian my reluctance with sharing personal information from an unsolicited person without details of his company's purpose, he abruptly tells me that it sounds as though I dont have time tonight and if I want to take a year to research their information for "the last chance before the test in Oct, then that is your choice" and hangs up.  At this point they would have to insure full scholarship before I did any business with them.  

I look forward to challenging the other callers in the same way.  May start answering "this is Peggy".

All of the above makes me think there is someone trying to use our time on the line to get something done? Like one person said they used to keep you on the line to be able to do a collect call in the meantime?? I don't know anything about that, but I have been receiving the same calls from numbers  855-865-0689 and 888-260-4306 and everytime nobody is answering, I see this pattern in the above comments. Is this new tactics? Before it seemed to be a rude guy, now no one is answering? People beware, report these numbers because they are indeed very annoying, they are calling a couple of times per day and obviously something is going on, this is not telemarketing otherwise they would answering or be polite.

get calls from this number 3-5 times a day.  no one is ever on the line.  tried calling the number back and get a recording: "You have reached customer service. All of our representatives are busy right now, but if you can please leave your name and number someone will call you back as soon as we can.  Thank you."

Thank you for nothing - they provide no way to find out who they are, why they are calling or how to make them stop.  The FCC needs to block this number in the network and revoke the operating license of the phone company providing the phone service to these criminals.

I was very patient and listened to the whole pitch.

These people need to be stopped!!! I try to be nice to all callers to my home and nicely told them she already had a tutor and she hung up on me.

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. I kept questioning who was calling and he refused to tell me who he was with, the only thing he would say is, is this Nathan's mother. I finally said, yes it is and I want to know why you are calling my under age son. He got real nasty with me and hung up. I called the number back and it only said customer service, please leave a message.

I have been receiving multiple calls per day over the last week from 855-865-0689 and 888-260-4306. I don't answer them because I don't recognize the numbers. Tonight I got bored and decided to look up what firm was engaging in shoddy telemarketing activity. I just reported them on donotcall.gov . They can't play that card, that my child expressed interest in SAT materials, because I don't have a child. I think it is very unlikely that my either of my cats signed up for SAT materials, because they are illiterate and lack opposable thumbs.

I don't want anyone from this number to call me.
They never leave a message, and when I answer, there is no one there.

They called 15 times in 6 days and was only on the line the fifteenth time to identify themselves and i asked them to take me off their list and they hung up on me.

This guy is malicious, unwanted and rude. He pissed off the wrong person. I am retired, have money and have nothing better to do than to find and annoy this man and make him wish he never learned how to use a phone.

I just received a call as well asking for my son's mother, i asked what this ws about and he got nasty with me as well.  I demaned to know what this about and he hung up......

I have three siblings, so why are they asking specifically for MY parents. Very creepy.

This number, or ones just like it have been blowing my phone up too. We finally answered it, and they asked for my granddaughter. We said she didn't live here and they got rude with us, wouldn't answer our questions. There has to be a way to stop this stuff from happening. You never know what this could be and especially if our children answer and give out info unknowingly!

This number has been calling my house daily. Finally answered today so I could ask to be put on their Do Not Call list. They wanted to speak to my daughter's parents. When asked who was calling he said he was calling from some test prep company. Then he started asking questions about my daughter (grade level, GPA, etc). When I told him I don't give out that info over the phone to unsolicited phone callers, he hung up.

The caller was rude to me and when I asked him to define the purpose for his call, he hung up.

Just received a call from this number asking for the parents of my son, by name. He isn't old enough to take SAT yet so I have no clue how they got our number.

I too have been getting calls from this number as well. I wonder if it all stems from Facebook...just a thought.......Just decided to call the number back and got a recorded msg saying all operators were busy...soooo I hung up. I remember when I was a kid that people would call houses and ask for someone there then keep them on the phone long enough to get an okay from the operator to make a collect call to another number...all without the rcvrs knowldge...then they would end up with a huge collect call bill.....people need to avoid calls and use their caller Ids and screen calls now adays.....so sad but so true.   Sorry for all your bad experiences.

Calls every day and refuses to ID self when asked.  Aske for "parent of ..." my son's name!

Yes, this number called my house. He asked for my parents. Said his name was Jim (but not saying what company he was from). I asked Jim who? he replied It doesn't matter what my last name is, wouldn't help you at all. I asked what he was calling about so i could inform them before answering but he became snippy with me saying are you the student? I said no and he said this is none of your business. He tried to ask for them again and added a couple more snippy comments and i hung up. This number calls all the time, i hope now that I've answered it will stop. Can't believe you can be rude to someone if you are trying to sell them something...

They've been calling once or twice a day for two months. I finally picked up to see who they were. When I picked up, they said something like "are the parents of (my son's first name)"...I was so surprised, I asked them to repeat it and they simply hung up. I called back only to get a recording answering as 'customer service' and saying the mailbox was full.

I want to know if this is SAT Prep related who released this phone number and how they could allow it.

This company or whomever calls all day long. They just called asking for Mother F'ing insert my sons name. Real nice.  next time theyll get the air horn.

They call 3 or 4 times a day.  They're selling SAT prep services and got our phone number from our daughter's PSAT form.  Eek!  I thought those numbers were only shared with colleges!

Same thing... when I asked the question  "What company are you with?" - person said... "WOW! you sure have a lot of questions... I'll tell you what - we'll send you some information and you can just mull it over.. then hung up.

My grandparents got a call from these people but I don't live with them. I live with my parents in another state and instead of asking for me by the name most professional companies call me, they used "Bekah" like it was one of my family members or friends that was calling. How do they get our numbers like that?

I just posted.  Amazingly I received a call from the number again while I was typing this!! A nicer older lady identified herself and the company.  University SAT Center.  I explained to her that someone called earlier from the company and was extremely rude and did not identify themselves and how they had our daughter's name, and hung up on my husband.  She apologized and I asked her to take us off their list.  She was very nice and said she would.

We received the phone call today.  Rude person asked for my daughters parents.  They stated her name.  The caller then asked again for my daughters parents.  My husband asked who he was, and what company he was from.  He laughed and said dont worry about it,  just tell me if you are her parent or not.  He called my husband a jerk and hung up.

Same as comments above. Called and asked for the parents of "Sarah".   When my wife asked if they have a website, the jerk became rude and obnoxious and replied, 'what company doesn't have a website (yet wouldn't provide it).  Clearly neither an individual nor a company you want to do business with.
