This number 855-872-6997 called and left a message at MY parents house for my husband. Stating that her name is Annie Lewis and she received a complaint about my husband and left a case number with a phone number to call back. Can they even call my parents house legally leaving messages like that?!

so glad I googled this number. someone filed a complaint against me and that I should call them in the event legal action is taken against me...my a**. I haven't done anything to get myself in trouble.  now I'm sure it's about a Discover card that my ex maxed out back in 2002.  yeah, like I'm going to return that call. eventually they'll have no choice but to stop harassing me because of the statute of limitations.

Good job... they sometimes randomly pick a phone number .. I got a call with the wrong name lol... never admit a bill because once you do your statue of limitation starts over!! look it up on how much time you have you may only have a couple of months and this may be a third party billing that bought the debt!! it is up to them to prove it!! don't offer no information !! once it has passed they are to stop harassing you!! look up the law on statue of limitation!! they should not be harassing you at work!!

Received a call today from McKellar group and this number, stating rudely that there were complaints filed by someone, a relative, with the same last name as mine.  When I called him, he knew nothing about an outstanding debt or possible complaint against him.  I had received a similar call to this one several months ago, and as I recalled it, I decided to also google this number to find that this seems to be a fraudulent or at least, misrepresented agency attempting to coerce or strong arm $ out of the receivers of their calls.  I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the District Attorney's office in my county.  I will also call them to demand they remove me from their call list.  Thanks for everyone's posts.

I got phone calls for contacting this number and have been told they are going to serve a legal paper in curtain time to deliver to my house in first call, but they are going to served the house address I never heard and lived. And then, I got calls continually, said they are going to fill a legal document to ageist me and want me to contact their office with this number again.

I have had some kind of the calls before, said I had debt with Wal-Mart credit card. But I never opened it before. I knew there is something wrong. Because I don?t shopping with Wal-Mart, how that is happened.

I continue to receive phone calls from McKellar Group requesting that I stay home on a certain day so they can serve me with court orders for an attempt to collect debt. Since I have no credit cards or loans I asked what it was about. I was told I had an outstanding balance on my "Wal-Mart" credit card, we didn't even have a Wal-Mart anywhere close to my town till a year ago and the debt they claim was from 2008, that's neither here nor there since I would never open a department store credit card anyways. I asked if they had any more information they could use for verification purposes, they used the middle initial E, mine is C, and they gave me the last 4 of a SSN that also was not mine (don't worry, I didn't disclose my SSN).

The first time this happened the guy on the phone said he'd remove my phone number, but they keep calling and I keep going through the same process. Today the same group called an identified themselves as "McKellar Group" I asked if they were a collection agency and the response was "no, we are an attorney's office". I quickly googled the company and sure enough found that they are a debt collector. I told the guy on the phone that the internet shows they're a debt collect and he said "Oh how smart you are to look us up on the internet, then of course it must be true"  in a very condescending tone, when I tried to respond he would make loud rude noises over me.

I called GE (holder of the Wal-Mart credit card services) and confirmed with them that I was not the person they are trying to contact and that they would notify the collection company, two hours later I just received another call from McKellar group. I'm a full time student and the money I have is better spent on food, rent, insurance, etc. then on hiring an attorney, this is just so frustrating. I did fire off an email to email address on the company website, but I'm doubtful this will do a bit of good.

I kept getting phone calls from this number , they left a voicemail about someone close  to me, I finally called the number, had to go thru several different people, while on hold listening to some tribal sounding music in the background, when I finally spoke to some one they claimed it was for a case for CITIBANK for a supposed credit card I had years ago , no other information was given but the threat of going to court.

Your best bet will be to let them know you're not a fool. Tell them that you're well aware of your rights under the FDCPA & that their ludicrous claim to a 14 year old debt is so far past the Statutes of Limitations regarding debt that their threats of suit are downright laughable. As a matter of fact, I WOULD laugh at them.
Live Well.
